History of arcade games
Arcade games drove the popularity of video games for decades. Even after the Nintendo Entertainment System was released in 1983–a significant turning point for console gaming–arcade cabinets remained a driving force in the gaming industry.
the visionary minds behind Atari, unleashed Computer Space, the first-ever arcade video game.
While Space Invaders kicked off the arcade craze, it was joined by another significant release: Atari’s Asteroids, which became the company’s best-selling arcade game.
PAC-Man was the first mascot character in gaming, hitting the scene years before characters like Mario and Sonic. It also featured some of the earliest video game cutscenes.
As the ’80s drew to a close, so did the golden age of arcade games. That doesn’t mean arcades disappeared, though–far from it. The early ’90s saw the release of a game that rocked the arcade world.
In 1991, Capcom released Street Fighter II, a game many still consider the pinnacle of the fighting game genre.
This led to the development of a vibrant fighting game community that persists to the modern day. Of course, the runaway success of Street Fighter II led to a boom in fighting game development. As a result, several new fighting franchises emerged, including Tekken and Mortal Kombat.
While the fighting game craze helped arcades persist through the ’90s, their popularity steadily declined. By the early 2000s, game consoles were more commonplace, eliminating the need for arcades.
this is the source I used for this information.

shapes in video games
circle.
this is Pac-man he is one of the most recognized video game characters in the world he is also a circle.
Triangle and square.
this is cloud from final fantasy 7 I have used this version of the character as because of the limitation of the console they had to use basic shapes to make the characters which gives them a blocky look this is because they used polygons which is a shape with many sides such as a triangle.
this is the Famas from Metal Gear Solid 1 the reason they chose this gun is because it was easier to make with the software they had at the time.
Pixels.
Pixels are the smallest unit of which digital images are comprised of.
