Stop enabling thievery in the Sims community. Don't steal poses/content.

@hellosimsulani (known as Simsulani) is stealing poses of multiple posemakers and is making money from it, taking advantage of those posemakers' work, but also of her (paying) Patrons by deceiving them with content that isn’t hers and already exists for free. It is proven with at least 15 affected creators and there are more yet to be uncovered. Because of theft we lost ToysOfDukeness as posecreator. Stealing people’s work is not okay, people pour passion into their creations. We are losing talented Simmers because of theft.

Simsulani has been stealing poses for YEARS. She went unnoticed because she is good at camouflaging. It is incredibly hard to notice the stolen poses at first glance, it is a frankenmesh fiasco. I tried to dissect the poses and find the original creators, it is a slow and tedious process.

Groups and couples got split up and merged. Places in groups got swapped and/or rotated. Normal couples or single poses suddenly got a kid or partner (or both). Some expressions were made clownesque, exaggerated or the eyes closed. To make it harder, she added accessories or removed them. She changed the body anatomy (resulting in broken poses sometimes) to make it appear different.

In some preview images clipping and/or weird gaps are very noticable. It shows they were posing with someone or something that got removed or changed around. 

Why did I share this? Pose makers can make mistakes, everyone does, but these traces of thievery and dedication to it instead of making her own poses. And she is earning money from poses that creator’s share for free.

I am not against early access (I am against perma paywalls though), but if you ask people for money to access your content early, you should deliver content of your own or you aren’t fit for content monetization. Content of your own or go home. Don’t steal others' poses or meshes to fill your wallet. Same for commissions, people commission you to create something, not to steal something.

So please, if you’re a posemaker, check if you were affected and share it, she even got poses of a small posemaker like me. If it is confirmed I will add it to the document.

For pose users, please don't support Simsulani’s behavior. There are many amazing pose creator’s she stole the poses from, please go to the original creators instead and not to Simsulani. Money will aid in enabling her so please cancel your subs.

And Simsulani, please cancel all the Patreon tiers until you make your own poses and go make your own poses from scratch. Never steal anyone’s poses again.

I am not releasing my centaur pose pack today, my apologies, but this all feels too bitter.

I am so not okay with all the stolen content I have seen so far - and I know there is so much more hidden (also besides Simsulani and besides poses). I don’t want this to continue for us. The Sims community is supposed to be a creative outlet and fun place. So please let change happen. Don’t enable thieving creators, don’t give them download numbers or money for content that isn’t their own. There are many wonderful Simmers and creators out there creating amazing content, go to them instead.

I shoeswapped these shorts ages ago, back when I thought I hated sandals. I've since found out that I actually just hate painted on shoes, so here are the sandals back. tfbottomminishorts replaced with a shoeswap using 4t2 EP07 Sandals Tie. Regular file contains just the teen default, file labelled ADDONS contains teen default as well as adult add-ons.

Waiting for the Lobster Thermidor

Sims gather with mixed emotions, eagerly anticipating their Lobster Thermidor. Conversations and glances create a scene full of personality and expectation, capturing the unique essence of a gathering in my Uberhood.

The new beach.

Technical stuff:

I had to add two barriers of invisible blocks on the cliff area to prevent sims from complaining when trying and failing to interact with other sims. So now the only way to access the beach is the stairs.

The pier was made with columns on OMSPs. I used so many the floor is barely clickable in Live Mode. At the end of the pier I put some saltwater fishing spots by Sun And Moon.

I edited the edge of the water so the bait traps (also by SunAndMoon) would be underwater. Since I only lowered the ground there by one click, the beach portals are still usable. I also added some tidepools which can be studied.

I figured the beach would be quite polluted from the debris that washes up after the tsunami. I didn't add enough trash. Unfortunately I've seen beaches full of trash irl, so I have a reference of what to put there.

So I see you all are exhausted by streaming services effectively recreating cable. I see you’re all tired of ads. Pirating is a great alternative, but I have another fantastic option for you all!

I live in Seattle. And in Seattle we have America’s largest physical media store, Scarecrow Video. They are a non-profit that has pretty much any film or tv show you can imagine. Like, everything. So much so that one of our local cinemas does a program with them called “Unstreamable” where they show a film from Scarecrow’a archive that you can’t access anywhere online. It’s a bit overwhelming to go to their store, which is two levels of every program under the sun.

ANYWAY, I bring this up because they recently started a Rent-by-Mail program. It’s pretty similar to what Netflix used to do. You can rent up to six titles (barring their super rare stuff and pornos) and they will ship it to you, then you return it in the included pre-paid envelope.

Why does this rock? Sure, you still have to pay money, BUT you are supporting a non-profit that is dedicated to preserving media instead of some corporation looking for endless profit. They can also expand your palette with their vast selection. And if you have a favorite piece of media, you never have to worry about it disappearing! All their stuff is there in perpetuity.

So this is all to say, now that Scarecrow has expanded their reach beyond the Greater Seattle Area, I implore you to check them out. If you don’t want to rent right now, the could always use donations to keep them afloat.

Hey folks, lately I've been pretty overwhelmed with the spreadsheet and could use some help.

If you find hairs out in the wild, please add them to the spreadsheet. Especially if you make hair - retextures, conversions, edits, etc - please add them. I had to unfollow a lot of blogs because it was stressing me out. There's been so much stuff lately that I just can't keep up. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also, if you make mistakes, please undo them. I've been seeing a lot of links dragged into the wrong spots, cells being typed over, extra lines and sheets being added. It is much easier for folks to hit undo than it is for me to hunt down and correct them.

And if you are having problems with the spreadsheet, please let me know. You can message me here or leave a comment on the spreadsheet itself.

I have to vent this out. It's hilarious though.

You know how I run a cc fixing side gig? Yea someone was asking about that "functional" toaster from Cowbuild and why it wasn't functional at all today. I took a look at it. It is an atrocity of an object.

The custom tuning of the toaster was made by Necrodog. That's fine on it's own, but it is incomplete. As in: Cow's toaster is NOT functional at all because half of the code is missing. You can't do anything with the CC you paid real money for. Cool, huh?

Second thing is the weight of that file. You know how EA uses 256x256 or sometimes 512x512 for smaller appliances? Cow's toaster uses 2048x2048 as texture. Just to put that into perspective, that's larger than the texture used for an entire sim and completely unnecessary for an object about the size of a microwave.

The mesh isn't any better. It has no LODs at all so you will run one single mesh the entire time. Okay, fine, I do that too sometimes when I can't shave off polygons but mine aren't 9938 Vertices to 15024 Polygons large. Yo, I could fit 6 of my Lamborghinis in that! Just saying, I'd rather have the cars than one broken AF toaster. Besides that none of the objects have shadow LODs. Yippee.

Anything else? The whole set is a problem zone. Everything is unoptimized and I know those of you who are running her CC have a laptop that's doing its best to imitate a jet engine. Those meshes are made for rendering, not for gameplay.

I love it when you bring me broken stuff to mess with. I love it even more when it gets fixed in the end. THIS is above my non-existing paygrade. I'm considering to blacklist Cowbuild CC from my cc-clinic just because there is no saving that. My sincerest condolences to whoever paid to get it.
