hello i saw your apocalypse au and i really liked the concept :D

and just wanted to ask a few questions about it

so once you have the abstraction do you turn into a monster in time or does it happen almost instantly? and does it spread by touch or is it like a virus?

what happenes when people die from it? do they turn into monsters and they're considered dead after that, if its like that are they just roaming around now?

you dont have to answer my silly questions btw, no pressure!

So i do actually have an explanation for this in 4 stages, apologies if this gets a bit lengthy

The abstraction does not immediately turn you, but from what’s known about it it’s pretty much irreversible, and it spreads through direct contact.

It takes about 3-4 days for the abstraction to fully turn someone in the au, and the first stage is categorised by an eye changing to look like the first depicted image. The eyelid also takes on a void black appearance. Once these signs are present, the process cannot be reversed. In the second stage, the abstraction will begin to spread across the body, and begins to affect the host’s emotions and behaviours.

In the third stage, the individual is still technically ‘there’ but is no longer in control or able to show any sign of retaining consciousness, but it is seen as a stage of the process due to how the form is still vaguely humanoid. The eyes on their body will begin to glow. In the fourth and final stage, the host is no longer considered alive but is still sentient, although they no longer retain any previous signs of themself. They lose their human form and become aggressive creatures that roam around aimlessly. However, they do not last long, and will eventually crumble away within a few months.

Its kind of inspired by a mix of apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic media. I will admit, Sweet Tooth is actually one of those inspirations, but im more heavily inspired by things such as Maze Runner and Station 11

Probably no to the fics, but things could change. I dont plan to make any long term investment comics, that never goes well for me, but I will make short comics and snippets on my au
