Yes 100% THIS.
And while we’re on this note, can we stop enforcing such strict rules about fitting in within an identity? — if you’re like this you’re high femme, if you’re like this you’re chapstick femme, you have to be/do this to be considered masc vs butch, etc etc — identities like this are supposed to create community and a place for people to relate to and know there’s other people just like them. And it should be celebrated within the community. Not everyone fits into the cookie cutter rules (who decided these rules btw?), sure they’re helpful to identify with something specific but we should not be turning people away from the community for not fitting into an identity 100% accurately to what YOU think it means.
Isn’t that part of what being queer means, celebrating being different and being yourself? And it took me a long time to realize this but, THERES NO RULES TO BEING YOURSELF. It’s the best part imo, being free of societal rules of what you can and can’t be, and it’s a shame that people are being turned away from the community for being themselves just because they don’t fit 100% into a label.
the online queer community (and some IRL spaces heavily influenced by this) really did turn into "we accept everyone* here!" and then the text followed by the asterisk is like, nobody. at this stage i don't think the bulk of the community truly accepts anyone else outside of their own identity in their own little bubble. we're more concerned about looking like good people than actually being them at this point. we're more concerned about looking accepting than being accepting at this point.
gay, bisexual/mspec, intersex, aromantic, asexual, other queer and trans men are seen as terrible strictly because they're men. straight trans people are seen as "the enemy". lesbians have to fall into strict butch and femme stereotypes to be seen as even remotely acceptable. bisexual/mspec people in general are never accepted outside of their own circles. intersex people aren't seen as acceptable because some intersex people don't identify as queer. aromantic and asexual people have never been seen as acceptable and are still fighting for this every day. polyamorous people aren't seen as queer because some polyam people are straight. trans women aren't seen as acceptable unless they perform to toxic levels of womanhood and femininity and even then they're on thin ice with everyone around them. non binary, genderqueer and gnc people aren't seen as acceptable because they "just want to be seen as special" or whatever.
who do we even accept at this point? ostracizing ourselves into only interacting people who share our exact same identities is what's creating these echo chambers. we're not a community at this stage. we're just not, and we sure as hell don't accept each other. the sooner we realize this, the quicker we can move on and actually start accepting one another, and spreading love instead of violence. forcibly ostracizing people who should be able to interact freely with one another is violence and abuse, it's not being done to "protect" anyone, it's just being done to hurt and cause strife.

'People are panicking about AI tools the same way they did when the calculator was invented, stop worrying' cannot stress enough the calculator did not forcibly pervade every aspect of our lives, has such a low error rate it's a statistical anomaly when it does happen, isn't built on mass plagiarism, and does not obliterate the fucking environment when you use it. Be so fucking serious right now

jokes to make after failure that aren’t self-deprecating:
I’m the best to ever do it
Nobody saw that (best if said loudly)
No one’s ever done it like me
I could be President/they should make me President
Behold, a mere fraction of my power!
The public wants to be me soooooo bad
I’m an expert in (thing you just failed at)
How could this have happened to god’s favorite princess?
Nothing ibuprofen and a glass of water cant fix
I’m being sabotaged

Ask yourself: what’s good about this moment right now? Is the sun out? Can you hear birds? Are you drinking coffee? Can you smell freshly cut grass? Is your bed soft and warm? These little things are oh so precious and yet seem so arbitrary.
