There is a particular hug that Johnny and Ripp give each other in SHWC that I chose for how forceful and intimate it seems, and it's a very specific hug from the game. Nobody has ever clocked it, or at least no one has ever said anything to me about it. It's the hug sims give each other after an accepted marriage proposal.

You can see how I had to frame each of these shots very strategically to hide the engagement rings. I may have used a little Photoshopping as well, but mostly I cropped it out.

It's one of those examples of things from the game that aren't available in pose or animation boxes, so I used the actual interaction from the game, which is always an option available to us. So yeah, the sims themselves have been engaged a number of times, in various unsaved moments.

The life of mystery sim

So it seems that Livejournal has now completely removed most of my story images (as of yesterday). The only remaining images are from Chapter Thirty-Five (Part Four) onward. At least Chapter Thirty-Six onward is there, as that's the most significant arc, but all the same, I'll need to fix it. Luckily my LJ image folders are still accessible and the html confirms which image goes where.

I was planning to repost the images for Dreamwidth anyway, as the LJ links didn't work for a lot of them. I had imported my chapters there a long time ago, so that makes reposting the story a bit easier. I've also updated the chapter list there, and I will be adding images a bit at a time:

Obviously, many images are missing. The (go to chapter --) links haven't been updated yet, so those mostly take you back to LJ for now.

Now I just need to summon the courage and attention span to get through the job (plus find the time). Encouragement is very welcome. Say a prayer to the ADHD gods for me.

On a positive note, I'm also chipping away at images for the next update. It's getting there, slow and steady.

Loki Beaker’s experiments, though unconventional, weren’t cruel. Nervous Subject had willingly agreed to become a test subject in exchange for money and because he had nowhere else to go after aging out of the orphanage. For years, Loki’s lab became a refuge of sorts for Nervous, who saw the experiments as a way to survive in a world that offered him little. However, when Loki's funding dried up, he was forced to release Nervous.

Now with nowhere to live, Nervous turned to his only real friend, Pascal Curious. Pascal, a young scientist himself, was sympathetic to Nervous's situation. He had his own challenges, raising his alien child, Tycho, who was born after Pascal’s own abduction experience. Despite his responsibilities as a father, Pascal offered Nervous a place to stay, providing him the support he needed during this difficult transition. Their friendship became a source of comfort for Nervous as he tried to rebuild his life outside the lab.

Being abducted by aliens and giving birth profoundly affected Pascal. As a single parent to Tycho, he began to question his gender identity. Over time, Pascal realized he no longer felt like a man and identified more with being a woman. The experience of giving birth and nurturing Tycho helped him connect with a part of himself he hadn’t fully explored before.

Despite lacking funds, Loki continued the research on his own. He hadn’t experienced fatherhood with Circe, but in creating Cyclothron, he felt something similar.

Aight, I think I've figured it out. In case other people are interested in what determines what major a sim will roll a want for, here's my findings.

FINDINGS

Every aspiration is tied to two majors and sims will roll a want for one of them.

Pleasure sims have four possible majors because Pleasure is a mix of both Popularity & Romance. Pleasure sims will roll one want from Popularity and one from Romance.

The Aspirations are tied to the following majors:

Family: Literature & History

Fortune: Economics & Biology

Knowledge: Math & Physics

Popularity: Political Science & Drama

Romance: Psychology & Art

Pleasure: Political Science, Drama, Psychology & Art

Now, to determine which of the possible majors a sim will roll a want for the game looks at personality. But the deciding personality trait is different for each aspiration.

The important traits for each aspiration is as follows:

Family: Nice/Grouchy

Fortune: Neat/Sloppy

Knowledge: Serious/Playful

Popularity: Outgoing/Shy

Romance: Serious/Playful

Pleasure: Outgoing/Shy & Serious/Playful

You've ever had a college sim that just won't roll a want for a specific major, no mather how many times you reroll their wants? It's because the personality trait that should tip the scale to one direction has 5 points and is right in the middle.

A Family sim with 5 nice points or a Fortune sim with 5 neat points won't roll a want for a major. It sucks, but you could use this graph to find out which majors the sim's aspiration is tied to and choose one of the majors for them.

I love rummaging through the less obvious lore, because if you put together the DS storyline and the S4 Easter eggs, it turns out that apparently these two share a town and are both into evil demonic machinations like some kind of a Barbenheimer of the local demonology scene

Say yes to as many things as you can and kill the part of your brain that gut-reacts with a no.
