I love zatch bell so much man. I love seeing kiyomaru starting as this bitter teenager who has a axe to grind against the world he thinks he hates, how he thinks he’s so much better. He’s so fucking bitter and can’t imagine hoping and trying for better tomorrows. Optimistism is a suckers game for him.

But by the end of it he’s changed he wants to believe in people and struggle to save every single person he can. Even those who reject his help or can’t cry out for help Kiyo wants to try he has to cause what’s the point of being so bitter and mean when you could help others.

And zatch starts the series as some wild eyed idealists who abhorred violence as a means to the end but realizes sometimes you have to fight, you have to bear your teeth and stand your ground for yourself. Even hardened your heart when it’s needed
