This was created during the early brainstorming of the Metal Bones AU. I have so many animatics I've never finished featuring many characters of this AU. The most prominent in them being S7-W, Gaster, Marry ( integrity), and Papyrus.

A little bit about Mettaton and Sans in this AU

After Gaster got shattered through time and space, one would think everything related to him would have gotten erased to right? Well... that wasn't exactly the case here. Gaster did get erased but, only from everyone's memory's, pictures with him became blurry, and his research was credited to no one. Most documents he wrote were blacked out, information having been redacted. With him now gone and Royal Scientist's position now empty...

Who do we know that takes that spot? Alphys.

Taking up the same problem that was thrust upon gaster, Alphys now has to find a way to shatter the barrier or take the burden of killing humans off their king. Asgore can only take so much LV. It was killing him, literally. This is where Alphys follows Gaster's path, she was bound to find some of Gaster's research in that lab. She so happens to stumble upon a document mentioning a human killing machine...

(Sans still doesn't even know how she found those papers, he burned everything mentioning the S_-W project. Well not everything if Alphys clearly found something 💀)

It doesn't mention anything about the S_-Ws, but it has the concept idea.

So what if she just happened to take up some inspiration from those words? It's not like someone actually created a human killing robot already, right?

And so Mettatons body was created.

Alphys wasn't quite able to create a sentient robot, or fully functional robot. She had some help from a friend, *cough* ghost friend *cough* to make it seem like they worked. They basically fooled the king into believing Alphys created the fully sentient human killing machine know as Mettaton.

So when you think about it sans is kinda like Mettatons predecessor in this AU. Here's some more Unfinished art. It's supposed to be mettaton holding Sans but I can't draw him 😭
