watchin bdubs hermitcraft n spinning him a little bit . think he's a really rapid fire flip one minute he's big babysitter bdubs and the next minute he's a tiny kid shouting cause nobodys listening to him but then he gets big again when people start listening and it's really hard for him to know exactly what age he is and if he's playing with another little hermit and they say their age first then he always says he's older than them (even if it's a lie) and the only other hermit who can tell how old bdubs actually is is etho but he also lies about it to the other hermits unless bdubs really needs to be babied . nobody believes either of them ever <33 - froggy

this is so real for bdubs AND the etho bit and i love it, it has the perfect bdubs chaotic energy and like im literally picturing this in my mind like he's trying to give instructions or something and people get distracted and hes just like "i was TALKING????" in like. a really loud whiny/pouty voice and stomps and grumbles LOUDLY (he is very direct w his pouting. targeted pouting /j) and then once it's back on him he's just like (clears throat) "as i was saying ^^"

etho: oh, bdubs? yeah no he's like 14 or something (camera pans over to bdubs making mud potions) rest of the hermits: doubt.png (but also theyre like no i kinda just think he'd do that. but etho said this so we're like. doubt)

It does a disservice to all listed communities to have them be misconstrued and misunderstood to the degree that they often are. Hopefully this post helps some folks understand the differences and nuances a bit better! ^^

reminders for regressors! 💫

🪐 - your regression is not weird, gross, or wrong

🪐 - it’s ok if your regression isn’t “aesthetic” like you see online

🪐- you don’t need a caregiver if you don’t want or can’t find one

🪐 - it’s ok if you experience involuntary regression or if regression isn’t a good experience for you

🪐 - you don’t have to tell anyone about your regression if you don’t want to

🪐 - it’s ok if you can’t get or don’t want any agere gear

🪐 - you’re valid if you regress to an older child or teen

🪐 - it’s ok if you don’t regress often, or if you prefer being a caregiver

🪐 - you’re valid if you can regress really easily, or if it’s really difficult for you to regress

🪐 - you don’t have to “grow out” of regressing, and you will never be too old to regress 

🪐 - your regression is unique to you, and there’s no wrong way to experience it

haiii helloooo i should be asleep but caregiver gem grisped me so i had to write about her n impulse. i am taking suggestions for a name for impulse's teddy bear, if you've got any ideas

Skizz isn't around to babysit.

And, well, it's not like he doesn't like Gem, he loves Gem! It's just- well. He isn't used to it. He's never really had a real caregiver before Skizz busted in and made him take bi-weekly mandatory small time, and it's been something to adapt to. Despite the days only coming once every two weeks- he struggled with trying to regress and actually staying regressed. Skizz had been patient with him, and eventually regressing got easier.

But only around Skizz.

He clutches the strap of his bag, crossed over his chest, decorated with pins on the upper flap and key chains hanging off of the strap. He's caught somewhere between big and little, the nervous energy making him self-conscious and much too aware of where his hands are, right now, how he's standing, the way his feet are oriented-

Gem just smiles at him, bearing her sharp teeth, fox ears sharp and pointed, her tail flicking back and forth in a fond little wag.

"Hi, princess," she greets, all fond and warm and teasing just a little. It's the same greeting that he gives her when she's small, and it startles a little laugh out of him. The tell-tale static in his head of the between-space fades a little as she offers her hand.

He reaches out and takes it. The static settles. He lets out a breath.

"Skizz dropped off some of your things," Gem tells him as they wander across the docks. Impulse trails along behind her, watching the fish in the river and the gentle bobbing of her boats, eyes tracing the rounded shape of the crying skull carved into the cliff side. "They're in my storage room right now, but I figured we could move them around in case you wanna go somewhere else."

Impulse nods, face warming a little when she has to turn back to look at him, her ears flicking once. He opens his mouth to answer verbally but she just smiles at him again.

"Is today a no words day? Skizz said that might happen."

He shuts his mouth, cheeks burning. He probably could talk, if he really wanted to. His eyes drop to the planks below their feet, and he adjusts his stepping to avoid the cracks. He shrugs.

"That's okay," Gem squeezes his hand, "you don't have to talk! We can just like, play charades or something. We'll figure it out."

He nods again.

They step off the docks and onto a little side path that leads around the building and down to her storage room. He's been here before, but never when he's small, and Gem leads him down. She doesn't complain when he takes the steps one at a time, stepping down one foot after the other before moving on to the next, clutching her hand a little too tight the whole way.

When they get to the bottom, they're greeted by gently chattering allays playing in the glow berry vines that decorate the ceiling. He smiles at them, greets them with a little wave when Gem releases his hand. They wave back, chirping and dancing, and some even come to fly around his head before flittering back up to the ceiling.

"The stuff is over here," she says, and when Impulse looks, there's his play pen- the street way play mat and all of his cars, scattered wooden blocks with numbers and letters on the sides, some blankets, pillows, and at one edge, his high chair, with his teddy bear sitting in it like a throne.

His face is all warm again. He fights the urge to hide his face or run away.

"Skizz said you like it better with the fence up," Gem tells him, "so that'd be the only hard part to move I think, if you wanted to go somewhere else?"

He shakes his head. Here is good! There's allays, and the window to the rest of the river, and his toys are already all set up, and maybe it's selfish but he doesn't want to help move them. At all.

"Okay!" Gem smiles, "come on in, then. Unless you want to get dressed first?"

He nods again, shifts around to open his bag. He pulls out a dinosaur hoodie with spikes on the sleeves, red and blue and yellow, all mismatched but pretty, and hesitates at the pull-ups. He's only ever worn them around Skizz before, would Gem be okay with it?

"Oh, Impulse, this is so cute!" she reaches out, gently taking one of the hoodie sleeves between her fingers, "when did you get this?"

He smiles, answering in his Gentle voice, "Skizz said I was brave an' got it for me af'er I started using bottles."

Gem awwws, and praises, "you're very brave. Is this all you want?"

He hesitates again, looks down at his hand still in his bag. He can feel the padding in his hand- he just has to pull it out.

Gem is nice, he reminds himself, she offered to babysit, and she's only ever been kind for as long as you've known her.

Well, she teases sometimes. But that's an easy fix.

He meets her eyes. "P'omise you won't laugh?"

Something like worry flashes in her eyes, but only for a slip second. She nods, "of course, Impy. I promise."

He nods back. Then takes a deep breath and pulls out the pull-up.

"Oh, that's so cute too!" she exclaims, "I love all of the little stars!"

"I picked them," he tells her, something like pride welling up in his chest.

"Good choice," she says, "now do you want to get dressed all by yourself, or do you want help?"

He shifts on his feet, suddenly nervous, "jus' with the hoodie p'ease? Can do the pull-up by myself."

"Of course, bug," Gem smiles. She gently takes the hoodie from him when he hands it over, "do you want your pull-up first?"

He nods.

She points to a side room, "bathroom is just there. I'll keep your hoodie safe while you're gone."

He nods and scurries off, pulling the strap of his bag up over his head and dropping the thing on the floor before scurrying off. He changes fast- the pull-ups are a little small for him, but nothing too tight or too bad, just snug, and he pulls back up his shorts over it, tying the drawstring with a bow so he can get them off easy later.

He washes his hands, (he didn't need to, technically, it's just a good habit he likes to practice), and steps back out to the storage room.

Gem is waiting with her hands threaded through the sleeves. She smiles at him when he approaches, holding it up, then helping him slip it on.

He's all fuzzy and warm now. He opens his arms for a hug, which she gracefully accepts, slipping into his hold and squeezing just so- the same way Skizz does, all comfort and love in such a tiny thing.

"Ready to play now?" Gem asks. Impulse nods, leaning down to pick up his bag again.

Gem opens the gate and they step inside together.

Gem can't play with him forever. After a round of blocks and cars and playing pretend, Gem deems it snack time, and Impulse requests, very red in the face, if he can have his snack in his high chair.

"Of course! Come on over."

She can't do it as effortlessly as Skizz- she isn't quite tall enough to lift him all the way and they end up getting a step stool so Impulse can step up and sit down himself- but she can do the straps just fine, and buckles him in and fastens the tray with two clicks and no issues.

It's nice. Impulse settles back with a sigh, suddenly exhausted.

"I hear ya kiddo," Gem comes over with his snack- apple slices and peanut butter, and a little container of star-shaped puffs, "want a nap after this?"

Impules nods. Gem smiles.

"Can do, baby."

dyou think you could do a lil bdubs? maybe playin with blocks or smth but it is up to you :)

You know he loves to build elaborate towers and builds and okay. MAYBE his color coordination is a bit off when he's feeling smaller but you gotta admit! it's impressive when he can still build towers as tall as him- (NO SHORT JOKES ALLOWED!!! HES SO TALL!!!!!)
