he's not sure exactly what kept ethan out of their anatomy and physiology lecture last week, whether it was illness or scheduling conflict or ethan just simply didn't want to go to class that day, but the other student's presence was sorely missed. yul isn't the most outgoing guy, he doesn't make friends everywhere he goes, so the quiet camaraderie he's built up with the guy who just happened to sit next to him on day one means more to him than it probably should. it's why he doesn't think twice about sharing his notes when ethan texts him requesting a copy. but, again for some reason, ethan can't seem to meet up in person to pick them up.

yul isn't as much of a fan of soyi as he is her brother. she has an intense aura about her, a quiet menacing presence hidden behind bright smiles and a pretty face. if he's being honest, she kind of scares him! and it's embarrassing to admit that a big, strong man like himself could be intimidated by a girl who is definitely more bark than bite. still, it's for ethan, so he agrees to meet up with soyi on campus to hand off his notes.

"is your brother okay?" he asks, not meeting the girl's eyes and instead rummaging through his backpack for the carefully transcribed notes for his classmate. "it's not like him to miss class." is he avoiding me? yul can't help but wonder, a bit of anxiety creeping into the back of his mind despite how he does his best to ignore it. no, that's not likely. ethan is a nice guy, an honest one; he would say something if he didn't want to see yul anymore. plus, why would he ask for his notes otherwise? it's not like yul is some godly notetaker.

"tell him i'll see him in class on tuesday. if he's there." he hands over the papers, still not quiet looking at soyi directly like a timid dog afraid of being perceived. "i hope everything's good."

hi everyone and thanks for the welcomes i've received so far! this is actually mars (u may know me from @lvckytwos) back again with a second muse who's been hanging out in my brain for a hot minute and i'm excited to get involved :')

i'll do a little bit of info and connection ideas under the cut and ofc, like or reply to this post and i'll hop into your dms for plotting!

so about yul...

in short, he is everything connor is not LOL he's smart, he's kind, he's considerate to a fault. all he wants to do is help people. and in a lot of ways he already has; he basically raised his little sister (which could be an open connection if anyone is interested tbh) while his mother worked long hours to support them after her husband passed in a tragic workplace accident. as he got older, yul ended up being the primary caretaker for his grandparents as their health started to fail.

it was actually his grandmother who encouraged him to pursue an education. he sort of thought it was off the table for him, trying to enroll a few years later than his peers and not being sure if a kid from a small town could make it into a top university. but yul was always smart and with some money his grandmother left him after her passing, he was able to get into yeonhwa and enroll in the nursing program!

he doesn't want to be a doctor because he enjoys spending time with patients more than that job entails. ultimately, he'd love to be a traveling nurse or do in-home care for other families. but he's only in his second year; there's lots of time before that's a concern.

yul is a MAJOR introvert so i tried to get him involved in other things to hopefully force him to make friends too. he's self-aware about this but he still won't be the first person to approach in most situations. so he joined the red cross club (again, he just wants to help people) and photography club (it's a hobby, he's very sentimental and likes taking photos to preserve memories... probably enjoys using artsy old cameras instead of modern digital cameras or his phone tbh).

he doesn't have much to his name so he also works two part time jobs-- one as a library assistant on campus and another in a cafe as a barista. this pays for textbooks and living expenses not covered by his dorm or meal plan... he lives a pretty simple and frugal life but money is still needed at times and grandma didn't have that much to leave for him.

aaaaand now onto some plot ideas and connections!

there's always the basics... coworkers, classmates, friends, study buddies, dormmates, etc.

this dude doesn't have a mean bone in his body so it would be fascinating to find out what beef with him would look like... i mean he won't be beefing, but if your muse wants to dislike yul for some reason that might be funny?

i would LOVE an exes plot... a 1st year fling where he actually caught deep feelings but your muse didn't feel the same... he was looking at rings while they thought it was just for fun... ultimately they break up because of the difference in expectations. obviously while this can be modified it's all very dependent on chemistry! so i will be picky about who can fit in here!!

your muse looks like they're having a bad day so yul gives them their drink on the house at the cafe he works at. new friendship ensues?

need the extrovert who adopts yul and takes him to all of their parties and events to get him out of his dorm actually social! he will be perfectly content holing himself away for weeks on end if someone doesn't remind him to interact with humans unfortunately.

admittedly he gets a bit homesick... someone from his hometown would be fun to have here if there's anyone else from gyeongju!

and if someone is looking to make a new muse, i'd LOVE to see his little sister in the rp! pls message me if interested bc it's a close plot again i'd be a bit picky <3 but she'd be 25, tentatively named park ayeon (you can change this if u want), and the light of his life <3

Introduction

he sounds too good to be true, but that’s just park yul. some might claim that losing his father at a young age and barely seeing his mother once she started working long hours to make ends meet might have ruined a child, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. maybe it was the way his grandparents stepped up to do most of the childrearing themselves, or maybe it was his nature all along, but never before has there been such a natural caretaker as yul. it was he who tended to his grandfather’s bedside ever so attentively every day after school growing up, administering medications and asking “how much does it hurt?” to document his symptoms whenever he saw the man wince in discomfort. it was yul who held his beloved grandmother’s hand as she took her last breath, finally joining her husband in whatever comes next. they were how he found out how good he is at helping others, how the sight of a person in pain doesn’t make him want to run and hide but rather leap into action and do anything he can to help.

yul enrolled a little later than most students, a little behind in his studies after taking care of his grandmother and serving in the military already. but he’s a dedicated student, passionate about the work that he wants to do, and sentimental beyond belief. he’d give all of himself to help others. maybe that’s sweet, or maybe it’s just stupid. he could very well burn out before it’s all said and done.
