there's a strange character note in this book i picked up that the jean grey scholars can tell me more about. jean repeatedly emphasises that cable is her stepson, not her son, which off the top of my head is something she's never really done before? she's expressed anxiety about cable being madelyn pryor's biological child, or loss at not carrying him herself, but i don't ever really remember articulating her (sometimes good, sometimes strained) relationship to nathan as anything but mother and son regardless of how they got there.

a small gift for the incomparable @ifridiot​ of the goodest good rough trade murderboy circa the penultimate story in their masterwork series quid pro quo. it has been a joy to read over the past year, and more importantly, it has been a joy to get to know the person behind the words whom i now consider a friend and ass-kicker.

must we long for unattainable things? is it not enough to have netflix frank, the dog brain to human body transplant success story, learning to accept treats like a good boy?
