these numbers are, while estimates, for visual novels in english, pretty good. i remember it being big news that Mahoyo broke 100k sales total, but it's possible that they nearly doubled that on steam alone. so i guess it could just be that. the games are selling as is, they don't need to care. but that's still a strange attitude, right? they had to be dragged kicking and screaming into releasing anything at all in english

imagining a version of Monster Season where Sodachi had a greater role. might fit the theme of the season better, even. have her be the Watson to Koyomi's Sherlock as they deal with these mysteries. have a dynamic of Koyomi having to hide the true nature of the mysteries (oddities) from her

more importantly, i think this would focus things more in on the child abuse angle that got explored only a little. child abuse and bad parents are the throughline for Monogatari, so focusing more on that might make Monster Season land better
