Hi, new Mr. Terrific fans! Do you want to get to know him after watching the movie? Here’s a short and easy reading list for you!
Important details to note:
His name is Michael Holt
He’s a legacy character. There was a Mr. Terrific before Michael named Terry Sloane who has been dead for decades. He’s the reason why “Fair play” is written on Michael’s jacket sleeves.
His origin includes attempted suicide.
His mask has a purpose! It makes him a walking blind spot to cameras.
The New 52 Mr. Terrific is a completely different character.
Reading list:
The Spectre (1992) #54 (Michael’s origin)
JSA (1999) (He Joins the team in #11 and becomes chairman in #27)
Justice Society of America (2006)
Checkmate (2006)
The Terrifics (2018)
Mr. Terrific: Year One (2025) (A modern retelling of his origin. Currently two out of four issues are out. The third releases on Wednesday while the fourth comes out a week after that.)
If you have any questions, ask me at @fall-of-fall ! Happy reading!

What I really loved about this portrayal of Mr. Terrific was that yes he is the smartest man there. But he is so expressive. So many smart characters have to act like their above emotion and reacting. But no he's getting mad because he knows he's too smart to be dealing with this shit
"Quit playing around!!!"
"You brought the damn dog????"
*shoves guys face out of the way with his entire hand*
A lot of geniuses on shows and movies become detached because their so much better than everyone else. But Mr. Terrific is very much present and kind of always pissed about that. He's human and caring enough to not just Dr. Manhattan his way out.
He gets the job done but he will also tell you "Hurry your ass up!!!"

clark shouting "people were going to DIE" in the face of the "think of the consequences of your actions" argument is so fucking important to me bc it really IS that simple you can't look at a genocide and just twiddler your thumbs bc you're a afraid of the consequences ESPECIALLY when you can do something about it and THATS WHAT CLARK DID. WITHOUT HESITATION. WITHOUT CONSIDERING HOW IT COULD HURT HIM. bc hes a good person and in his brain its really just people were going to die so i had to step in bc what else would it be. superman i love you i love you i love you

SUPERMAN SPOILERS
Some people are mad that Superman didn’t show up in that scene and that we got Guy instead, and I feel like they’re missing the point a little.
It’s true, Superman couldn’t get there himself, but he inspired someone else to help where he couldn’t. He inspired someone with the power to help to help. Superman is about hope and inspiring people to do good simply because it’s good, and that is what this scene is about. A good deed that sparked the action of another.
Also, yeah it’s Guy Gardner who shows up, and I know we like to shit on Guy but he’s genuinely a good lantern, that’s like his whole thing.
Edit: Here is the link to the Guy arriving at Jarhanpur for those who want to see it.

I actually loved Hawkgirl’s screech every time she went to battle. It’s fun when they’re fighting the kaiju and stuff, but towards the end of the movie you realize how scary it would be to have a winged person weilding a giant mace coming at you with this ear splitting screech, and I love it.
