A .little something for the lovely @bloody-gorgeous-rps
Sleep was hard to come by nowadays, or so it seemed for Kai. Often he found himself tossing and turning and just dancing around the edge of actually jumping into the unconscious world. Which, wasn’t exactly a bad thing. It kept him awake to deal with soothing Matt from one of his nightmares. In the time that he had known him, he had picked up on the fact that every now and then the man suffered from nightmares. Like with everything else, they came in different degrees. Some were eased before the other woke, others not so much.
With how much time Kai found himself spending around Matt and in his place, he could tell how much the last couple nights had been wearing on him. He could see how tired the other looked. Walking up behind him, Kai snaked his arms around Matt’s waist and pressed a kiss to his shoulder before brushing his nose along the rim of his ear. “You look exhausted, Matty,” he murmured softly. \
It wasn’t that late, but just seeing how worn down the other looked had him worried. He debated offering a willing ear but didn’t know if it would be met with hostility or not. “Maybe I should go and let you get a little bit of rest.” With a chuckle, Kai nibbled on the shoulder in front of him. “I know I can be rather distracting when it comes to bed.”

“Oh come on. $1,100.00 to fix a broken axle?” The mechanic’s eye remained on the paperwork, smeared with grease from the work he did during his brief inspection of his car; which was towed to this fine out-in-the-middle-of-nowhere gas station. If this had been five years ago Sebastian would have flashed his dad’s credit card and set the man to work. The luxurious life took a detour when he finally had enough of his dad’s crap and decided to live off the skateboard clothing line he put together shortly after high school.
Money was decent. Not anywhere near what his dad raked in but it kept him comfortable. Truth be told he could foot this bill and still be fine but he felt the man was ripping him off. He was certain of it.
Sebastian was stuck. He could tow the car to another mechanic but that was at least fifty miles from this lovely spot. “Fine. Do what you need.” He resigned with a sigh. Sebastian readied to be told it’ll take a couple hours but the man said he was closing shop for the night and would get to it first thing.
Now, Sebastian was a patient and understanding person but he was already in an unfamiliar place and giving a mechanic; who probably would do a crap job with his car and cause even bigger issues once he got on the road; but he felt that patience waver. Biting his tongue he said fine and he’d find a hotel to stay at.
This would give him plenty of time to research and see if he could find a closer mechanic and if the rate to get his car towed there would be less than what this man was trying to get away with.
Sebastian went to the small motel across from the mechanic and stood in front of the counter. There was no bell and he placed both hands on the edge of it. “Hello?” The day started with so much promise and now he was ready to call it a night at 6pm.
Emmeline had gotten her job at the in based on nothing more than the fact that her father owned it, which worked out perfectly for the both of them. She had a job that filled her days, and some nights on occasion, and her father didn’t have to worry about the riff raft of the town invading his place of business. A win-win really. Except that she hated the fact that she had to deal with some of the scum bags that stopped in their little rinky dink place.
Once the sun started setting, the majority of her night was spent in the office watching shitty T.V. and only popping out when someone wandered in asking for directions- which didn’t happen all too often. Sometimes the bell above the door didn’t even jingle properly.
Shoving a handful of popcorn in her mouth, Em rolled her eyes as her fingers fondled the remote to the T.V. before switching off the shopping network. The last thing she needed was more things from QVC. Though the sudden voice that called out had her startled and scrambling from her comfy chair, effectively knocking over the bowl of popcorn that she’d just made.
Stumbling a bit as she popped out of the office and moved behind the front desk, she tried to keep the persona of someone who actually liked working with the general public on her face. “Sorry. I was cleaning. What can I do for you?” Emmeline asked, cocking her head to the side as she took in his appearance. By the looks of him, he didn’t look like someone who had planned on stopping.
“Sorry, bathrooms for guests only.” That had been an issue more than once. And cleaning up after a quickie in the bathroom? Definitely wasn’t on her list of things to repeat.

stories-with-suez:
Why bother with making herself presentable when Mother Nature decided to be a bitch and mess her hair up. Chloe was certain she looked as if she came through a wind tunnel but there was a brief moment of awe when she looked at James. Holy crap…He was one of the most gorgeous men she’d ever met. Why would someone like him be using Tinder when she was certain he could snap his fingers and get anyone he wanted? Chloe scurried inside and kept her coat on, rubbing the sides of her arms quickly to warm up as fast as possible. “I didn’t think it’d get that wild this afternoon,” Chloe stared at his backside, settling her eyes on his ass. “You’re way hotter in person by the way. I’m sure you’re used to hearing that.” Chloe turned away from him to look at his place, hoping she’d get rid of this damn chill so she could shed this coat so he could get a glimpse of her body, not that she didn’t give him a little sneak peek through the app.
Body language was key, and from her’s he could tell that she was definitely freezing. Which wasn’t surprising with the way the temperatures had been plummeting all day. Moving towards the little box on the wall he upped the heat in his house a bit, more so to see her without her coat on, but James would just keep that little tidbit of information to himself. “The news definitely didn’t say anything about it being so bad.” he said, turning back around to face her. Lips pulling up into a grin, he shoved his hands into his pockets as he moved forwards a few paces. “I haven’t not heard that on more than one occasion. But can’t say I don’t enjoy hearing it from a beautiful lady.” He wasn’t hiding his open appreciation for her looks, there was a reason he had started up the conversation, after all. Pulling a hand out of his pocket, he reached out and fingered the edge of her coat collar. “Maybe you’d be a little more comfortable out of the jacket.”

stories-with-suez:
Chloe rubbed her gloved hands together after she turned her car off; the cold seeped through the windows of her brother’s old car. It was long past the time to replace it but it held such fond memories and she wasn’t quite ready to say goodbye to it. Her hand reached over to pluck the phone off the dash, turning Siri off since she reached her destination. This would be her second ever Tinder meet up and she was a little nervous about agreeing to go to his house. It took her a couple minutes to freshen her lipstick and hope the wind wouldn’t mess up her hair before she got into his place.
Out of the car, Chloe carefully moved across the icey driveway and sidewalk; wishing this was summer and not the start of one of the coldest winters she’s ever experienced. Of course it could be a total over exaggeration as the young woman hated this weather. It was only nice when things were Christmasy and pretty. As she reached his front door she pressed the doorbell and pulled her coat tight around her body to ward off the wind which assaulted her at that very moment.
James had had the Tinder app on his phone for months, he was far from a stranger to how hookups worked and the conversation with the most recent contact. It hadn’t been long before he had invited her over only to be surprised that she had actually agreed. And of course his house was more than a little messy. Setting down his phone, he did a lot of superficial cleaning. Shoving things in closest, throwing things in the guest bedroom, and making sure his bed had a fresh set of sheets on it.
The bell pulled him out of his hurried cleaning as he dumped the last little bit of trash into the can. It wasn’t perfect, but it didn’t look like a total bachelor pad anymore. First impressions were a big thing- even though this was gonna be a one impression kind of thing, so might as well start off on the right foot. “Coming!” he called, as he moved towards the door and pulled it open. In nothing but a wife beater and jeans, he blast of cold air was the first thing that hit him as his eyes settled on the woman he was supposed to be seeing that night. At least she looked like her picture. He’d met some that had used a picture from about 10 years ago- and that was not a pretty sight. “C’mon in. It’s freezing out there.”
