ben thought for a moment as he turned himself around to press his lower back into the balcony . the least he could do was actually face the man he was talking with . his social manners do need some maintenance work on them - or so his brother says . either way , ben thinks his social manner is FINE . 

he hums , looking the shorter man up and down - trying to place if he has actually talked to him before , or perhaps seen him somewhere else - nope . just remembers leia talking about him . 

the smuggler shakes his head . 

  ❝ no , i don’t think we have . i know i’d remember . ❞

was it a light flirtation ? ben doesn’t know , probably doesn’t mean anything - he gets it from han . flirt and be unreliable . tch , he hates how much he takes after his father .    

when ben looked him over, poe couldn’t help but blush, as much as he would try and deny it later on.  he was starting to think it happened too easily, but poe figured that ben could make ANYONE blush.

poe just smiled up at him when ben shook his head.  maybe he DIDN’T know him, but he wanted to stay and figure out what exactly was different about him.

             “ i have one of those faces, huh? ”

poe was grinning now, despite the heat rushing to his cheeks, at least now it didn’t feel like a BAD THING.  ben was subtly charming as far as he was concerned.

           “ unless you’re saying i’m cute, which sounds WAY better. ”

Kylo blinked. Was Poe always this obnoxious when he wasn’t being interrogated?

“I don’t think that’s much of an accomplishment,” he said. He watched Poe get up and sighed. The other ought to conserve his energy, but Kylo couldn’t say he cared enough right now to make him stop wasting it. Maybe Poe would tire himself out, sleep, and finally be quiet.

“No, not a cave. There might be plants, trees… Something. Just enough to block the wind, and any potential rain. We won’t be here long, I’m sure.”

“Fine, no caves, but you know how to start a fire, right?” Poe might have wanted to take a couple of days off eventually, but this wasn’t how he planned on spending it.

“So we don’t get cold--and we probably won’t. But...let me ask you something, what’s going to happen when someone shows up? We going our separate ways?” Though a part of wanted to think that if the other man wanted to kill that he’d have done it already.

     poe could feel the heat still settled in his cheeks and didn’t think that it was going anywhere anytime soon, he’d not expected the question--but he didn’t want to hide from it either. poe hadn’t been this giddy about someone since he was a kriffing teenager.

“ we don’t have to do anything, you know that, right? ” he was going to have to take a cold shower though, in the next few minutes after talking about that.

kindness wasn’t something rey was used to. after everything that had happened over the last few weeks her adrenaline had worn off & she was left overly emotional, vulnerable, & trying to process things. poe offering his hand only made her tears fall more quickly & she forced herself to swallow back a sob. instead, she nodded & took his hand.

❝ i don’t want to be alone. ❞ she agreed, taking a deep, shaky breath as she tried to calm herself down. ❝ i want a home. ❞

“ then i’m staying right here. ” he looked down at their hands and rubbed his thumb over the skin before gazing back up at rey. he wanted her to be happy, or to feel whatever she was feeling and that this would always be a safe place. she was going to be a big part of his life, poe was sure of that much.

“ you have a home, here with us, with me. we’re not going anywhere. ” poe was afraid to let go of rey, while he didn’t expect her to fix all of their problems, she could quickly become everything.

“I’m sure you have,” he said with a few empty blinks. He was itching to change the subject. Why he had let a single thought slip out was beyond him. It was… word vomit, and he was paying for it now and likely would all night.

“We need to get shelter. A fire can go out, but if we can shield ourselves from the elements, the wind, we can at least make it through the night without frostbite… I hope.”

“Half the galaxy has seen my ass.” Poe chuckled, quite amused by himself, but he wasn’t expecting the same reaction out of Kylo. Poe wasn’t lying about that though.

Poe sighed and started walking, he needed to get warm, he couldn’t exactly ask Kylo to snuggle him. “Fine, we’ll find a cave. But we’ll find sticks along the way, unless you’re interested spooning then we need something to keep warm.”

  FIRST ORDER poe never shut out his connection to the force & instead was trained with the others, following ben / kylo but is NOT a knight of ren, instead ( and this is self proclaimed ) is the best pilot in the first order.

         “ well, you don’t have to be alone now, not if you don’t want to. ” poe sat down beside rey and reached out, offering his hand in case rey wanted to take it. he didn’t want her to feel like she was alone even with all these people around.

meeting dameron’s was a miracle in its own nature , and hux would be damned if he lost this miracle to the first order , that has stolen everything from him . a hand under his temple , and a laugh leaving his parted lips , this time not with rolling eyes . a genuine one , with crinkled eyes , with a soft ’ tsk ’ . of course he didn’t blush , not when he had a mission to accomplish ; make poe happier . than before .

    ❝ why don’t you tell me what those dreams were about ? ❞   his imperial accent thick . there’s a stubborn lock that escape the nearly combed hair and falls on his left eye . his hair is longer than it should be , but he didn’t care , not really , the resistance tend to ignore the luxurious looks like that . which was comforting in a way . ❝ are they dirty ? knowing you , they probably a r e … ❞

hearing hux laugh made him stop and stare for a moment, kriff, this man was the most beautiful person he’d EVER met. he wanted to keep getting that reaction out of him. poe wanted to make the other man happy. though he didn’t know what was the on the other man’s mind, a part of him didn’t care, he just never wanted to LET GO.

              “ well, they involved A LOT less clothes than this. ” and now he was thinking about sex. kriff. while poe was still emotional, all he could see in his mind were those OTHER dreams. finally a small smirk settles on poe’s face. “ they are VERY dirty. could show you. ” he teased.

Kylo was silent for a moment. He turned the hologram off with a gloved hand. The leather creased and creaked ever so softly as he pulled his hand back a bit too slowly.

“… I suppose. We are related.”

“You’re easy to look at.” Poe found himself teasing, and really, it was amazing that he had lived this long. He offered a small grin as he looked up, almost to say, don’t kill me.

“I’d really rather not,” he muttered. Why hadn’t he just killed Poe? Oh, right, then he’d be stuck with a dead body for who knows how long. That and he figured the First Order would get there before the Resistance ever could, and having Poe as leverage would certainly be a tactical boon.

Kylo’s gaze shifted off into the distance. His brow furrowed, deep lines formed across his forehead. It was getting dark out, and it would soon be bitterly cold.

“We have more important things to worry about anyways. Like shelter.”

“Alright, but there’s no judgment. Kriff knows I’ve gotten around the galaxy.” There he went again, and maybe he would drive Kylo to kill him, but he promise himself that he wouldn’t try and do it on purpose.

“I know how to make a fire, c’mon, but no caves...there are always things that want to eat you in caves.” Poe didn’t know how to deal with the cold even as long as he’d been in space. He missed Yavin 4. He missed home.
