Jean slowly unlearning everything the ravens drilled into him means so much to me like he introduces himself to the trojans as “jean moreau, defense” because he genuinely believes thats all he is. He says it doesnt matter if he enjoys exy or not because hes perfect court and thats supposed to be enough and he really believed that for sooo long but then you watch him start to enjoy things like cooking with cat, pottery, gardening etc he finds pieces of himself outside of exy and he starts TRUSTING PEOPLE (but thats a whole other point I could talk about for hours) and then he admits he never even liked the aggressive way the ravens played LIKE. He says it out loud to jeremy and thats so huge I love you jean moreau I think I might need to tear my heart out

The thing about kevjean is that its complicated and heavy and kind of impossible to pick apart. Like yeah maybe jean loved kevin. Maybe kevin loved him back or maybe he didnt but nothing really changes either way. The nest was literally built to suffocate anything soft. So even if there was love on both sides it was already doomed from the start. AND THAT HURTS SO BAD. Because what they shared still shaped them. Kevin knows jean in a way no one else does. Theyre bonded by something oh so ugly and oh so beautiful but they were never going to be anything other than what the ravens made them.
