#[cough alex cough]#no but seriously#all of alex's stories are about the relationship he has#to 'normalcy' because he is a white all-american boy who suddenly finds himself an invisible minority#he was doing 'no one can ever love me because i'm a danger to Society'#before rogue was a glimmer in claremont's eye#and that's before you get into his dynamic with maddie both in the 80s & the 2020s#she remakes him in her image over and over again#and he's the only one to ever treat her like a person when it comes down to it#and then there's the rahne of it all#and the fact that 2 of alex's exes are also bobby drake beards#and the parallels with mystique in the early 20s#just as her transfeminine subtext rises basically to the level of text#like...someone please give alex summers estrogen and a boyfriend posthaste#it won't fix her but she'll have newer sexier problems
