We’ve just been super busy- we started high school, our parents got divorced, we have a long distance relationship, and just so many other things.

hi, it’s me, Will/Sunny, the host, the one most of you know and love. It’s been a stressful day so I’m gonna rant. heads up this is probably the worst rant on this page.

So it’s the first time I’ve fronted in 20 days right? For those of you who don’t know, that makes me a little sensitive. And I was pet regressed, which doubles down on that. I’m just enjoying my time. So when I’m called out to the living room, I assume it’s because they want to watch a movie or something right? Wrong

why. On the one day I needed NOTHING TRUAMATIC TO HAPPPEN. DO THEY ANNOUNCE THEIR FUCKING DIVORCE???

I can’t tell weather or not to celebrate or cry. There’s so many good things that can come from this but I’m also scared of change. I don’t know. But this is my safe space. The people here are the most welcoming I’ve ever met. So if I feel safe to talk about this somewhere, it’s here. Yes, here, over my therapist.

One thing I need you guys to know.

Nico is closer to the dead.

Will is closer to death.

The dead and death are TWO. DIFFERENT. THINGS.

Nico is the son of the DEAD. He interacts with souls, and talks to the ghosts of people are already DEAD.

Will is a healer. A war medic. Death is basically where he WORKS IN. Anyone in the medical fields knows you will be experiencing death. Seeing the process of death.

The moment where people leave the living world. And experiencing the grief that follows after seeing someone die.

That is death.

Nico represents the beauty of death. The aftermath. Knowing the soul/ideas and ambitions of the person's life. The person that roamed this world. The voice of someone's life. The memories. What is left of that person.

Will represents the uglier side. The reality of it. The moment someone's string of life goes silent. The moment life leaves, all is left is the corpse. The shell of someone you used to know.

Hence why solangelo's view of the underworld is SO contrasting.

It's black and white. Because both represent different sides. SEEN different sides. They're so similar yet so different at the same time.

Solangelo is the start AND finish of DEATH. Will represents the START of it. Nico represents the END of it.

Two sides of the same coin.

The literal bridge between life and death.

One starting point and one end.

(And if you think about it. If you switcharoo them. Nico can also represent rebirth. And Will represents the end of life, because he's both of that. Maybe I'm stretching but fuck it. They're practically making a circle. The cycle of life and death.)

we’ve been seeing a lot of discourse recently on TikTok, and in honor of pride we would like to say

trans. Men. CAN. Be. Lesbians.

Will I say why? No. Because I’m not one, and don’t want to get facts wrong. But I will say that it’s not anybodies business, nobody should police identities like this. As long as it’s a genuine identity and not some shitty guy using it as an excuse, who cares? Pride has never been about shoving people into boxes. more details under cut.

Most people against he/him lesbians don’t know queer history. This community has existed for hundreds of years.

“oh, but lesbian means ‘non-man loving non-man’!”

“Non-man” is a racist term. It hurts me to see that you don’t know this and didn’t study your own community. Yes, it’s technically true, but please don’t describe things with racist terms.

we will always support contridictory labels. Deal with it. The saying is “we’re here and we’re queer”, not “we’re here and we’re gonna say what you can and can’t identify as just like the people we don’t associate with.”

labels are descriptive, not prescriptive.

A lesser discussed part of TSATS is Will and the trogs, especially Hiss-Majesty. Will’s relationship with them in the book is a key characterization for me. In ToN Will was NOT fucking with the trogs (and to be fair, they put a lampshade on his head lol), but in TSATS he’s so nice to and gentle with Hiss-Majesty. When they say goodbye, he puts his hands on the trogs’ faces and they glow. Given that his light not only heals but comforts/soothes I see this as a sign of strong affection from Will. Earlier in the book he gave Hiss-Majesty his sun lamp because they were fascinated by it even though he very much needed that to continue on.

Will Solace is easily one of the kindest characters in the PJO-verse and I love him so dearly.
