FAR AWAY I WILL BUILD A HOUSE WITH YOU
Far away
in a valley
amidst the blue hills
and the green forests
I will build a house
with you.
The house would be
made of wood, rain, sun and moon.
Beside the big glass window
of the west corner,
I will place an earthen vase
to keep the unnamed flowers
you bring for me
every afternoon
on your way back home
following the day's work.
We will watch the sunset together.
Sometimes from the window
and sometimes sitting together
on the lush green carpet of mountain meadow.
But the other days,
in the harder phase,
the rays from the setting sun
will enter into our cottage
through the wooden cracks.
And we will watch
how the flower that you picked
and I took care of
will shine in the golden hour.
Everything that shines
leaves a shadow.
The shadow of the flowerpot
and the flower along the window
will giggle on the wall
as the shafts of sunlight will look by.
At night
after the moonrise
We will count the stars
and the soft white clouds
that would float by;
as counting the blessings would be
much more difficult.
I will write some verses
in my secret diary
after you would fall asleep.
And then
when I will feel drowsy
in between the lines of my dreams,
I will walk silently to put
my diary inside the locker.
And maybe,
some dried up flowers would fall
from the wrinkled pages.
I would keep searching for them
until one day
I will find them
in the pocket of your shirt.
And the days when the sky
will be filled with dark clouds,
we will stay home together
and make colourful paper flowers
to hang them all over the windows.
When the sudden rain will fall upon
we will rush together
to close the door and the windows.
But I know
you will keep one window open
and stand in front of it.
You have always been in love
with the lightning, right?
I would stand beside you
because you know
I have been in love with the rain
and with you too.
When the rain will stop
and the lightnings sleep,
we will laugh together
at the drenched paper made
happiness.
After the dinner,
under the light of lamp
we will make another garland
of flowers and happiness.
The next day
as the Sun will glisten,
I would know
my vase will not stay empty
like the previous day.
The next night
as the Moon will rise
among the stars,I would know
I will have to
write down the dreams.
Far away
far away
I will build a house with you
which will have a window
at the west,
a wreath of paper-flowers
will hang on it
and a vase will remain
with a small anonymous flower.
And beside the vase,
there will be dreams
engraved among the withered petals.
