tgcf tk headcanons because i have to do EVERYTHING around here (spoilers)

xie lian is canonically SUPER ticklish and its SO cute i love him

feng xin and mu qing know about it but like. they never do anything about it

but HUA CHENG.

xie lian can NOT catch a break (not that he minds)

he's so dramatic about it he's like "please.. i cant take it anymore..." after two seconds

one time he tries to get hua cheng back and hes SO disappointed when it doesnt work

"you have to be ticklish!!" "i would never lie to gege <3"

but then xie lian gets to one of his like. two spots and they both just stare at each other

in hua cheng's defense. who would ever try to tickle THE crimson rain sought flower. how was he supposed to know

hua cheng lets xie lian tickle him as much as he wants but he will be just as if not more melodramatic

"i'm dying!!" "you are already dead"

qi rong is TIRED of them

speaking of qi rong. he tries boasting about how not ticklish he is and then xie lian squeezes his sides to make him shut up and he screams. turns out possessing someone else's body has consequences

(although his actual form is ticklish too. but he won't admit it)

xie lian gets into the habit of just reaching over and scribbling over qi rong's stomach when he's being too annoying

it kinda backfires though bc it just turns into qi rong shouting various curses and threats, and in most cases he's even louder than before

but xie lian finds it kinda funny so he keeps doing it

"COUSIN CROWN PRINCE YOU ARE TRYING TO KILL ME" "you are already dead!!!!"

he xuan is definitely not ticklish he's scary and intimidating and he doesn't giggle

there seems to be a theme involving ghost kings

disguised as ming yi, he is Actually not ticklish. shi qingxuan has tried. many times.

BUT in his true form he xuan is ticklish and shi qingxuan is very happy

not quite as ticklish as shi qingxuan but she doesn't care

he xuan doesn't tickle him back very often BUT

when he does she's always begging him to stop and then gets disappointed when he does actually stop

he doesn't love being tickled or anything but he does think it's fun!! esp when it's he xuan doing it

he xuan has sharp teeth + sometimes he bites shi qingxuan but she always giggles cause it always tickles rather than hurts

quan yizhen + yin yu <333 i love side ships

ANYWAY quan yizhen is super giggly when he's being tickled like he's just. a little puddle and its cute

yin yu always tries to hide his laugh but he breaks eventually

sometimes quan yizhen is all "shixiong :(((" whenever yin yu is trying to keep quiet so he just gives in right there

yin yu gets so flustered when it comes to like. most things in their relationship actually. bc quan yizhen is always so forward

"i want to tickle you" "???????"

and even in the reversed positions it's like

"can you tickle me" "?????????????"

quan yizhen just does not get flustered ever it's so unfair to yin yu

mu qing is the more ticklish one. my reasoning is because he's my favourite of the two

they can't do ANYTHING without turning it into some sort of competition and tickling is no different

"tickle fight" no that shit's tickle Warfare. tickle Combat. tickle Armed Conflict

mu qing is like a cat his worst spots are his stomach + ears and feng xin gives me ticklish sides/ribs vibes

feng xin has more stamina than mu qing but mu qing will always try to last as long as he possibly can out of spite

xie lian has witnessed many. many of their tickle fights. he's tired

y'know what i take back what i said earlier. xianle trio tk fights

like it's just feng xin and mu qing but then some way or another xie lian will find a way to get involved

they never actually drag him into it (on purpose) because they want to be fair and they know he will Lose. he has Zero chance of winning.

but like. once he does get involved. they're not just going to kick him out

"feng xin!! help me!!!" "sorry your highness i have this really rare contagious disease called ligma"

xie lian has won a total of one (1) time against mu qing and that's only because he was teasing him to the point where he short-circuited long enough for xie lian to tickle him into a little heap on the ground

mu qing likes to pretend it never happened

Yes there's BeefLeaf, tragic as it is, people stray from the bad fate to make happier endings. Why can't we do that with ships?

HuaLian is so popular in the fandom, because it's canon, but what if we dive deeper, look closer. I do see some other ships but it's not much variety.

Where's Xie Lian x He Xuan? Why not Shi Qingxuan x Hua Cheng? There's some of He Xuan and Hua Cheng but its platonic (still grateful it's something), and Shi Qingxuan with Xie Lian, which is adorable but why keep it platonic? Why not put them all in a pot and blend it together, add some spice and diversity? It's fan fiction, we can do as we please, we don't have to follow the "rules" or the template/premade ships.

Only using those four as examples because I don't want to blab for too long

Ticklish Fish

sorry this is so short, i dont think he xuan would be ticklish so i struggled a bit hehe

Bothersome. Annoying. Irritating.

There were many words He Xuan could used to describe the Wind Master.

“How come you never smile? You're going to get wrinkles with that face you always wear.”

Loud. Chatty. Tactile.

“Is that a grey hair I see?! Quick, let me get it for you! No, stop fighting me- Hold still, you wriggly fish!”

He Xuan gasped as Shi Qingxuan’s delicate hands gripped onto his sides in an attempt to get him to hold still. The two of them froze, neither daring to say anything.

A soft blue painted the ghost king’s cheeks, long black hair falling forward in a futile attempt to hide it.

“What was that? I thought you said you weren't ticklish?!” Qingxuan teased, giving an experimental squeeze to the other's sides.

He Xuan flailed, grabbing at pale wrists, “I’m not. You merely caught me off guard- Don't go sticking your nose where it shouldn't be. You could get hurt.”

It was an empty threat, one that the Wind Master had grown used to hearing. In the beginning, it was enough to have him keep distance. Present time was a different story, unfortunately for the Totally Not Ticklish Ghost King.

“Yeah, yeah, you’ll hurt me, kill me, drown me- Why don't you go ahead and laugh for me?”

His eyes widened slightly, “Wait-” Wiggling fingers dug into his sides, igniting his nerves and spreading like a wildfire. Years of no physical contact could take quite the toll on your nervous system.

“Get ohohoff me!” To think, Blackwater, Fearsome Ghost King, defeated by a few wiggling fingers was hilarious.

“Aww, listen to your laugh! See, I told you that you would look better with a smile- No, no, don't furrow your eyebrows, you’re going to cause wrinkles.”

The unbearable sensation travelled downwards as those pretty, soft, ruthless hands began to release disgustingly ticklish squeezes on his hips.

He Xuan’s knees buckled, sending him sinking onto the soft sand. Deep, smooth laughter echoed across the water. Tears threatened to fall from the corners of his eyes. Never before had he felt something as horrible as this.

“Eno- e-ehehehe, stop already!” The words were barely able to escape through the continuous laughter. It wasn't until said laughter turned into gurgling noises, as if someone was drowning, that Shi Qingxuan relented.

“My, my, what an absolute mess you are.” Kneeling down next to the ghost king, his eyes shone with admiration, some would even say love. Gentle fingers raked through long black strands of hair.

Soothing. Caring. Gentle.

Perhaps the Wind Master wasn't all that bad, at times. Almost one thing was for certain though.

“It's best if you start running now.”

Heaven's Eye revealing that Xie Lian and Hua Cheng did it at the end of the series is actually really funny when you think about it.

Like after 800 years of not being able to use his #VirginityPowers Xie Lian used them exactly once and then was like “well i don’t need these anymore 🤷‍♂️” and proceeded to jump Hua Cheng's bones at the first opportunity.

Truly nothing is funnier than Xie Lian just losing his goody two shoes facade when Qi Rong is involved like when everyone else is an asshole or doing evil things Xie Lian just smiles patiently and thinks it’s none of his business but the second Qi Rong is around he is being force fed Xie Lians food and made fun of for being a wrath and getting served straight hands the second he says anything about Hua Cheng like truly some things are just for the family.

Just gonna add this on... I tested the waters, tickled her foot while it was next to me. She then, when I stopped, moved and PUT her foot on my lap to keep getting tickled.

we're in the car and im just resting my foot on his lap and hes tickling me whil he does nonograms and im trying not to screech

I just tickled my fiance's tummy, and she tried saying she was good each time she started coughing. She popped her head from under the blanket (cause she's an embarrassed little lee) and said her face was hot, so I told her to catch her breath.

Next thing I know, she says she's seeing spots. Obvious red flag!! So I stopped, and got her sat up, and got her a drink. She apologised for not lasting long, and for the fact we have to stop but health always comes first.
