just remembered something we don’t talk about enough although I’m fuzzy on the details. Noel got into a car accident or something in one of the early 2000s years that was good for him and Liam, 2001 or 2002….I think it was while Noel and Sara had briefly broken up closer to the outset of their relationship…anyway Noel got injured and when he was able to return to performing there were reports Liam gave him flowers onstage at his first show back or something?? and there was no photo or video but just published accounts of this? anyway they’re literally insane god love them xx

YES!! absolutely crazycakes moment. just a few days after noel broke up with sara, mid-august 2002. here are a couple print mentions of it:

Noel Gallagher made a triumphant return to stage today following a horror car smash - and was rewarded with a bunch of flowers from his brother. The Oasis star showed no signs of the shock, cuts or bruising he suffered in last Tuesday’s accident as he played to a packed house at New York’s Roseland Ballroom. But the 35-year-old complained that he had only received one card since the crash which forced the band to cancel three dates on their US tour. “That’s what happens when you stop selling albums,” he told the crowd. “Not even my record company sent me a bunch of flowers.” His disappointment was temporarily lifted when Liam Gallagher emerged on stage and presented him with a bouquet. Hopes that the crash had led to a new bond between the constantly feuding brothers were soon dashed, however, when Noel accused his younger sibling of urinating on the flowers. the urinating thing is very clearly noel making a joke (uh oh! almost experienced a vulnerable emotional moment in public! abort abort!) and reporters taking it semi-seriously, as per usual. sadly we have no video or pics of the incident but we do thank god have this audio. please note how the accompanying blurb (from the nme) mentions liam giving him a kiss :)

ALSO. liam was wearing this slutty shirt w a keyhole cutout at the time (second only to the sleeveless beatles tank top imo), so.

By the end of that night we've recorded Guigs, Bonehead and most of Noel's guitars [on Roll With It]. Liam sang it the next afternoon, in three takes. He was on fire. Totally charged up by Alan's performance. Most singers will do loads of takes before getting enough good bits to compile a complete vocal, some go into hundreds. Liam wasn't having any of that. Apart from, "Champagne Supernova" which he tried when his voice was shot, Liam never did more than three takes on the entire album. He was singing his heart and soul out. Liam Gallagher is by fucking miles the must passionate singer I've ever known. Liam doesn't need to practice: Liam just lives.
