SELFIE DESTRUCTION (REALIZATIONS)
I remember the days when I first encountered the word “selfie”; its fascinating yet simple word construction of self-portrait has bloom so much in the internet world. Its “trendy – vibe” and new kind of activity have made its way to us, the young people, up unto to the adults and even the old ones, actually. It is just that much fun to post a picture of yourself in social media and see the reactions of your friends, acquaintances, and family to your pic.
Every like that we get, every heart reaction that people put to our pictures, it makes us feel better, it makes us feel that we are accepted, appreciated, and sometimes even loved. This attention that we receive have punctured its own way to our hearts, making us dependent on it every time we need a boost to our own egos; making us feel more comfortable and self-assured about ourselves. In other word it is a shortcut to confidence. This dependency is very much addicting, that; in no doubt, we have done it for a couple of million times. This is due to; also as said from the article, we, as human beings, want to be recognized, we want attention, we want appreciation and we all just want a boost to our fragile little egos.
From Leonardo Da Vinci, to Philippine Heroes and to myself, have practiced self – portraits, in one way or another. Yet still, it is very much different today than it was before, through digitalization of things, it makes everything much easier. Sure, it is not a bad when it becomes more accessible right? Yes, it doesn’t, however its accessibility have much of a ripple effect when it comes to pictures. Since it is a lot less hard to have pictures, there is no doubt that people will start to abuse it. The number of self-portraits have increased significantly since the invention of selfies, and as more pictures are there, the lesser the class it have. The proper, decent, and solemn pose when having a picture have become old – fashioned, cliché, and corny; people is starting to want more than what has been shown before, they want something new, something fresh, and something creative. Thus, the invention of “duck face”, “side boob challenge”, “Kawaii peace sign” and much many more have occurred, this have caused pictures to be more vulgar and less classy than the times when portrayals is much harder to acquire.

ONCE IS NEVER ENOUGH!
Heck, when it comes to Coron, four times still won’t cut it. This little tourist town in Palawan one of the first destinations we set foot in. ts jagged corners are bursting with natural beauty and cultural significance: from the lakes and lagoons of Coron Island, to neighboring beaches, to shipwreck dive sites and coral gardens, to saltwater hot springs, to postcard-worthy views from its mountaintops. They even have an African Safari nearby! Coron is just one of the four municipalities that make up the Calamianes, a stellar group of islands that speck the waters of North Palawan. Busuanga Island is the largest of the group and is politically divided into two municipalities: Busuanga and Coron. Coron is the main tourism hub of the region and has more accommodations and tours, and is the usual jump off point to the surrounding destinations, which is why many of the attractions in Calamianes are often associated with Coron even when they are technically part of other towns.
For example, Calauit and Black Island are actually in Busuanga, but most people think they’re in Coron. The town of Culion is also often tagged Coron, when it is, in fact, a separate municipality.
Another confusing bit: Coron Town is NOT on Coron Island. As mentioned, Coron Town occupies half of Busuanga Island. Coron Island, emphasis on island, is a separate smaller island off the coast of Coron Town.
For tourists, the main gateway to the Calamianes Islands is Busuanga Airport (USU), more formally known as Francisco B. Reyes Airport. It is less than an hour away from the town proper of Coron.
But Coron also has a pier, and over the past few years, new boat routes have opened for tourists coming from Manila and other parts of Palawan like Puerto Princesa and El Nido.
We stayed there for about 3 days and like everyone else, we have searched yummy Coron, Palawan delicacy and restaurants’ worth trying while we were there. Luckily, we found just that!
One thing we really loved about Palawan is the fresh seafood. It’s such a nice change from the seafood found usually at market stalls or groceries that we buy back home. So if you’re a seafood-lover, Coron, Palawan might just be the top choice for you!
It was a short visit but I think we have found some interesting places that you should try also when you visit Coron. Here is a short but worth it recommended must-try food and restaurants in Coron, Palawan that you should not miss!
Our first day in Coron was mostly spend exploring the town. It was a hot day, thus we were looking for something to eat near our accommodation. Lolo Nonoy’s was a perfect choice since it was just a few distance away from the lodge where we were staying. The place was quite popular among the locals and foreigners. We were always passing by the place when we were going around the town and it was noticeable that there were many patrons eating here (not to mention, it was also recommended by our guide – a local of Coron – as one of the most preferred places to eat).
Lolo Nonoy’s had a simple and and homey feel about it. When we got there, the place was not too busy (it was way past lunch) so we got a pretty good selection of available seats.
We had our dinner at the KT’s Sinugba sa Balay also a few blocks from the lodge where we were staying. As you are about to enter the place, the smell of the grilling food will make your mouth water with anticipation. It was a bit packed with patrons when we arrived, not a surprise since everyone must be famished (like us) as it was around 7 or 8 PM already.
Coron’s Lobster King is definitely a must-try if you visit this small yet busy town. It was a recommended dining option in Coron and I must say, we were not disappointed. From the name of the restaurant itself, Lobster King’s must-try dish is the lobster itself. You get to choose what type of dish you want the lobster to be cooked (they got several selections to choose from).
The best thing about Coron is that the neighboring islands are “all equally mesmerizing” are just a boat ride away. Thus, a trip to Coron will never be complete without a visit to the other destinations surrounding it. Because boat rides and tours are all organized into day tours, it is very easy to build an itinerary.
There you go lovely people. Coron is such a beautiful place. There are a million of words to describe this paradise but none of them can truly give justice to the beauty and wonder this once unsung eden possess. I could go on for days telling you how breathtaking this side of Palawan is but that’s nothing compared to experiencing it first hand. So what are you waiting for? Pack your bags and discover a place like no other you’ve seen before. Til next time! Ciaoooo!

She was a boy
In the midst of thunderous rain in summer solstice, a mother’s foot was in a near death hole fighting for a life that is yet to come. Everything came into silence, when a voice of new life started to cry. It was 14th of May 2000, a new story has begun. It was then when people started familiarizing a name Marie Danyelle Therese that was given to a baby girl. When she was 7 months old in the womb of her mother and was told that it was going to be a baby boy, her mother prayed and prayed for St. Therese that during that time her relic was In the Philippines. Until, the baby was born. They were surprised it’s a baby girl.
A new girl kicked in into life. She was molded and raised by her parents, Danilo A. Danseco and Marissa C. Danseco together with his elder brother Danniell Raphael Rogel C. Danseco. Growing up she’s eyeing to become a lawyer so she started pursuing it by going to school. For her, going to school is a stepping stone to achieve her dreams. She started her journey in Ibaan Central School, where she got an opportunity to become a photojournalist of their schoolpaper, even competed in District level and got the first place, advanced to Division level where she met new faces and new experienced a once in a lifetime opportunity. She graduated with 3 medals along with her dreams and achievements she entered Saint James Academy. She was a member of Teatro Marelliano and Dance Company when she was in Grade 10. She even got the chance to perform in the celebration of OSJ’s Centennial Year in front of different delegates from the other side of the world in the Philippines. Experiences and opportunities are the reasons for her to push forward and seek for more in life.
Now, she is currently in her Senior High School year taking up Humanities and Social Sciences to finally kickstart her journey ride on being a lawyer. For her, being a professional lawyer is a big challenge and also a risk for her to take. Because that somehow gives her thrill just like she’s riding a rollercoaster of her life. She is now eyeing to be part of Polytechnic University of the Philippines in her tertiary to fulfill her dreams by taking up Bachelor of Arts Major in Political Science and AB Psychology at the same time in Manila or Sto. Tomas Campus. She is so motivated to pursue her dreams not only for her but also to her family because if ever God permits her to achieve her goal, she will be the first ever lawyer in her clan. Eventhough there are still many struggles along the way, she has become a brave girl to face new challenges that life may throw at her.

BIOGRAPHY
“When life gets tough, the tough gets going.” This timeless proverb may be true for some but, for others, hardship can be too much to overcome. When the going gets tough, their life simply falls apart. It is what exactly that separates those who thrive regardless of adversity and those who don’t. It started when a kick bumped into a mother’s womb. A sudden flow of blood, ripped flesh and a half dead baby. It was October the 13th 1962 when a new bearer of Danseco’s name was born. Resides at Real, Quezon with his parents; Raphael Danseco and Fellina Danseco. He and his 9 siblings lived in misfortune and difficulty in life. Her mother was just a homemaker and his father was just relying on his fish boat and the living creatures under the sea. Growing up, his eyes were already opened in the true meaning of reality. Unlike those typical kids, he didn’t even have the experience to play and embrace his childhood. As early as 7 years old, he started working for his family. He sell nutribuns, charcoals, fish, slippers and did some laundry in his neighborhood for him to buy his younger sister diapers and milk. They were abandoned when he was 15 years old leaving his 2 younger brother, a one-year-old sister and an infant. Then, he realized the true worth of money, that every single cent is important. He has to raise his siblings of his own sweat and tears. As he grew older, He has witnessed the chapters that filled the book inside of him. His parents were both illiterate, that’s why he has to go to school with his own, where he learned to read and be literate in many forms. Given these humble beginnings, it is perhaps surprising that he went on to high school. And then he stopped.
Behind every success story is an embarrassing first effort, a stumble, a setback or a radical change of direction. It’s these first clumsy steps on the road to success and fortune that fascinate him. It is not the fact that he persisted in getting an education that makes him so motivated, however. It was his perseverance in the face of adversity, his persistence in fighting for what he knew was right, that made him remarkable. Right after he graduated at Lopez National High School he explored Manila homeless and broke. He started working in a handicraft shop where they produce weaved furniture to be exported overseas. He also worked at East Medical Center and Telecomm. at the same time. Eventhough he did not have any college degree, he was given a chance to be part of LTO. There was a time when he is on duty, he got featured and interviewed by GMA Network about the issues and allegations on officers. But his dreams of having family started there. It was that time when he met his wife; Marissa C. Danseco. He’s been courting Marissa for 3 years but everytime he will ask her he is always rejected. But Danilo’s love for her didn’t stop there. Unfortunately, Marissa’s father was the chief police in their vicinity and everytime he will visit her there is a pistol or shotgun ready to unleash its bullet anytime. He pursued his love for her no matter how many times he got rejected. But when Marissa turned 34 and was scared of being a spinster Danilo asked her if she want to live her life alone and that made her realize that she also love Danilo, the year after they got married. Now, they are committed for 20 years. With two children, Danniell Raphael Rogel and Marie Danyelle Therese.
As far as education was concerned, he seems to have any special ambitions though he’s old enough to go to school again. But for his children’s better future he was so motivated to dream and be successful in the future by acquiring degrees and formal education because for him it is important and a desirable thing. He enrolled in University of Batangas and took up Engineering. His grades were excellent ranging from 1.25 and the lowest 1.75. Became an alumni for the year 2017 and finally got a diploma that he’s been eyeing for decades. And now he’s working at Department of Information and Communications Technology as Administrator and also the Head Engineer of “Pilipinas Free Wifi” program of the government.
For all his lack of pretension, he has a philosophy in life never to tell lies or do anything to cause trouble to other people. That is the only thing he wants his children to learn and live the way of life. A man who never put on airs of any kind, his whole happiness lay in seeing his children grow up in good health, and he is willing to do any amount of work to achieve that goal. That's the kind of father he is.
During those years of nightmare and agony he managed to take his life up and implement wisdom into the reality. His life was exciting, while at the same time it could not be called an easy one. He faced many obstacles on his life path, but he tackled them with pride and positive thinking.

I fell in love with a man a decade younger than me (realizations)
There are plenty of ways to love and they’re all valid, but some of them mean different things in different circumstances. One huge difference in how our love is perceived by other people is whether it’s coming from a pure and selfless hearts. From the video that we have watched, i can say that from her experiences when we selflessly love people, we accept their flaws and shortcomings more readily. Selfless love accepts that ups and downs are a part of the journey and that the downs are better off when love is there, anyway. We should love selflessly, we don’t worry about the outcome of it or whether we’re giving more than the other person. Instead, the act of loving feels good and it’s obvious that whatever comes back to us is the right amount. It is about sacrifice and loving someone selflessly. It should provide room for people to grow because it isn’t trying to tie anyone down. And that is what the author/writer did, she let go the love of her life even if it hurts like hell to her not because she doesn't love him anymore but because she is matured and selfless enough to know what is right for them. That freedom makes for bigger, more open lives with more room to accept and give love in return. Sometimes, when we love selflessly we tend to get hurt because we expect something that we think we deserve but for me, i know that time will come that all the sacrifice and the love you invested will grow and you will reap them with so much love in the world. And that is being the fairy godmother to the girl, the daughter of her love of her life.
