Finally got to stop in here after driving past it every day for 3 weeks. It's hours of operation mirror my work day exactly, so I've never been able to stop in on a weekday. Totally worth the wait. Friends, after many years of slinging espresso, I am hanging up my apron and tamper. I cannot express how much I have enjoyed making people happy with coffee as a barista. Waking early each day and dialing in espresso. Greeting my regulars and performing our daily ritual of coffee and quiet goodwill. AM golden hour light flooding through the windows and catching steam from the machine. The camaraderie behind the counter, shift beers and impromptu throwdowns for rep. The meditation of steaming perfect cap milk when a bar rush hits and the line is out the door. It's been real as hell, and I will miss you all. Tomorrow, I approach this thing I love from a wholly different angle. Wish me luck as I tackle my next frontier: roasting. (at La Colombe Fishtown)
