It was pretty obvious that there wasn’t a lot going on through Ellie’s mind. The only thing she could think about the entire time was how everything was going to be okay, that if she continued to smile nothing would go wrong for her. There was just a small smidgen of her left for something other than ignorant bliss and blind optimism. 

And that was for food.

Skipping joyfully throughout the research site, Ellie tried her hardest to find the dinning hall. Maybe if she was lucky there would be someone there making food, that was she wouldn’t have to try to cook on her own and most likely burn the whole place down- wait…was that even possible when they were by a volcano? She had absolutely no idea…

The moment she spotted someone else, Ellie nearly jumped for joy. Her smile widened and her steps grew faster and much louder…you would have to be incredibly oblivious to your surroundings to not notice her. It was also going to get even more obvious, as she opened her mouth to speak to the red haired stranger.

"HEEEEEEY THEREEEEEE! Whatcha doin’?! Makin’ some food or somethin’? Can I help!? Can I eat it when it’s done, hmmm? I promise I won’t burn down the kitchen or anythin’!"

Subtle.

Absorbed in her own little world, it took her a couple of seconds before she noticed that someone was trying to catch her attention. Turning over to their direction, she smiled brighter than any fire you would've seen in your life- maybe even brighter than the sun itself. Someone actually wanted to speak with her? Oh goodie! They thought she was interesting, of all things...maybe she could make a friend!

"Whaaaa? I don't talk strange at all- I guess it's just an accent or somethin' ya know? Ooooh well, can't be helped! But but but- we're both pretty interested people then, huh? Perfect! We can find out what's goin' on together then! I mean- there's no way somethin' ain't gonna happen, ya know? Someone gettin' injured with no explanation except? Sounds fishy, but also cool as heck! Oh darn, I'm ramblin' now!"

Nodding vigorously, Ellie tried her hardest to think about what to say next. She wasn't really able to come up with replies on command- every single word had to be planned out before she could utter a single sentence...which didn't sound likely considering how much she could say at once. She's an enigma.

"The name's Ellie Spledida- but ya can just call me Ellie! How 'bout ya give me yer name now, that way we can pester each other! Or ya can just pester me, I like it when people talk to me regardless of what's bein' said! We're probably gonna be hangin' 'round here for a bit longer, so we might as well get ta know each other!"

Shinji Nakahara was once again, fooling around within their little journeys that they made. It wasn’t as if that wasn’t normal for them, but hey, it passed the time in this place nonetheless. To stand around and do nothing for the fleeting days of silence… that would be boring, wouldn’t others agree?

They were wandering around without a care in the world, before they came to a timely stop at the sound of a noise- at least, that’s what they thought. Was it background static? They couldn’t exactly know if it was, or wasn’t. 

Humming a tune to themself, they blankly stared at the space in front of them, stopping themself from rocking back and forth on the heels of their shoes. That would just wear it down! Plus, what if they fell? Wouldn’t that be a disaster of itself…?

But enough of that, they thought to themself. 

"…Hmm. How strange… peculiar."

They turned on their heel to walk towards the main plaza, proceeding to hear the guttural yell from afar, but seeming to slow their pace into a more… relaxed walk. Why rush? There’s nothing that should be terribly out of place- maybe the guy had just tripped and fallen on something!

As if.

With the smell of blood in the air, and a distressed robot thing, Shinji Nakahara had yet found themself in a strange situation once more. A person (classmate?) was (sorta) dying on the floor before they were whisked away to the (assumed) infirmary, with the robot person trying to shrug this event off as an accident. An accident.

"…Yikes. I… I hope that person is alright. Maybe I should check on them later… Maybe not…"

It wasn’t as if they knew of them anyways. Turning their attention to a certain blonde, they cleared their throat to catch the other’s attention, before waving a hand over to them in a casual manner. Well, they just had to respond to the gal after hearing what she was saying, it just tickled them funny.

"You talk strange. I’m interested. You’re interested at what’s going to come up…? I wonder what could make you to think like that… ah. What’s your name? I like to get that first before I pester people."

Going Off With A Bang || Ellie || RE: Prolo

Surely the entire situation was a lot to take in from the reactions of everyone around her, but Ellie just stood there staring at nothing with her head tilted to the side. Was any of this real? Was this really happening to them right now? She definitely wouldn’t be able to answer the question…Mainly because she didn’t listen to a word. Everything just flew right over her head and she was trying to pick up the pieces by listening to everyone’s reaction. Okay so…They couldn’t leave or something like that? Apparently there was no way to communicate with people outside…Interesting…

"Aaaaw…This is some kinda bummer, huh? Well shit, guess I can’t show or tell my family how fuckin’ ace the volcano is- they’re a sucker for stuff like this. WAIT SHIT- is it still active!? That’s soooo awesome!"

Laughing, she didn’t even seemed a tiny bit phased by the situation she was in. Her smile was pretty genuine for someone who just learned she was stuck somewhere far from her family and…Near a possibly active volcano. Really she was just a mix of amazed and extremely joyful, most likely a contrast to everyone else.

"What the fuck ever, I don’t see the problem here! I mean…We’re next to a FUCKIN’ VOLCANO! How many people do ya know can say they’ve stayed next to a volcano? I bet none- or like I dunno maybe one. We’re stuck here? So what!? We’ll be found sooner or later right? Not like we’ll die here or anythin’."

"Just chill! Everythin’ is gonna be a-okay! We’ll be alright and we’ll see our families again…We just gotta sit tight! Worryin’ won’t do anythin’ to help…We can do it together!"

I can’t tell if she’s incredibly rude or not. Burn her.
