In this particular scene I wanted Dean’s cockyness to really shine through, to show how their relationship can become infected and almost turn into hate instead of love. The way he hits Buffy and then almost smiles about it like “What are you gonna do about it, huh?”, the rage that quickly builds in Buffy’s expression and then the surprise from Dean when she hits him back and she doesn’t hold back as much as she probably should considering he’s human. There’s no smile from her after that, just an “are you done?” expression.
