What a sweetheart.” She chuckled lightly, a hand brushing through her honey coloured tresses. “At least let me buy you one?”

Sutton waved his hands in front of him, shaking his head. “You don’t have to explain yourself to me. I know exactly what you’re talking about, though. I always like to just take a break when I can.” He tilted his head as he watched her comb through her hair, an innocent gesture that got him to smile a bit. “Well, I guess that’s fair. Just one drink though, I can cover the rest. This is about you and I’m in the mood to spoil someone today.”

“God, I’m just having one of those days today. You know when you just feel under the weather for no reason?” She huffed out a sigh before shooting a smile in the direction of the person closest to her. “Do you maybe wanna have a drink with me and cheer me up? I’ll even get the first round if you do?”

Sutton had just arrived back into the city from a small trip to Europe, his body free from whatever stress weighed him down. He’d been waiting around the booking desk until someone spoke out to him. “Actually, I’m a little too familiar with that feeling,” he nodded, standing up a little straighter. “If you’re inviting me to get drinks, the least I can do is buy the first round... and however many rounds you want after that.”

SOLANA.

         “ ━ and here’s a flower crown for you ! hope you like it ! ” festivals like this were solana’s element. had she spent the time looking for more clientele ? absolutely not. did the pay incentive appeal to her ? absolutely. but when you could sit and chat with people and make flower crowns for them for hours, why not take the chance ?  she’d try to get new clients another day. “ hi ! would you like a flower crown ? ” she chirped at the next couple of passerby’s with a huge dimpled grin, waving them in the direction of the lovers’ booth.   

         sutton had taken a day off for himself. with the workload finally lessening, he needed to take a break. the spring festival had always held a soft spot for him, remembering the time when he’d walk around with his college friends back in his undergrad. several booths with kind faces offered their product to the masses and he knew that votive would be out trying to draw in more clients. and there it was – votive’s booth with a few of his favorite people. sutton approached the booth with his hands in his pockets, smiling at the first person that he saw. “ a flower crown ? for me ? ” he chuckled a bit. “ think it’ll go with my outfit, lana ? it wouldn’t clash or anything right ? but you know .. i’ll wear it just for you. a little advertisement as i walk through the festival. ”

she leaned over and pressed a kiss against his cheek. “i didn’t know i had such power…” she giggled softly as she took another drink as well. “i can always just sit here, keeping you company until something comes to mind.” she added. “or… i can entertain you in other ways…”

she was sweet as honey and sutton knew that he’d want to have a taste the second that her lips left his cheek. “in other ways?” he raised his eyebrows at her, his hand moving to her knee. “care to share? or would you like to show me instead?”
