{` eyes the change in color of his ears and the way he avoids answering her question, smiling inwardly and turning her head slightly as she brushes her bangs away from her face, shielding her tiny smirk with her hand until she allows it to fall, glancing over at him again } mhmm, I'm done. I— {` pauses, losing her train of thought as he leans over the table and towards her, the warmth of his hand as he dabs the corner of her mouth fluttering over her cheeks and visibly spreading, her being the one to change color this time, averting her eyes as she whispers a thanks, busying herself with closing the take-out boxes until he tells her to leave it for the time being in favor of going out for dessert } oh, okay {` hesitates after she watches him stand and hesitate himself, wondering what's going through his mind as he walks over to her and extends an arm to her, brows quirking upwards in an unspoken question before she understands his intentions, softly nibbling on her lower lip before she stands from her seat, pushing it in, and links her arm in his. it wasn't as if it was her first time linking arms with a member of the opposite sex, doing so often with her father, cousin, or his best friend Hoya but it was her first time with Myungsoo and someone who used to be mortal } {` clears her throat as she throws him a hopefully neutral look and stares ahead of them } let's go?

Dinner For Two
{ — } Come on then, let’s go now. We can clean up afterwards. (/stands up from his seat and pushes the chair in, hesitating for a fraction of a second before walking over to her seat and offering his arm out to her, a soft grin on his face as he waits for her to either accept or push him away in scorn. He sincerely hoped it would be the former.)

Suzy sighed, not hiding her distaste for the Banished seated across her. Did she really think that her opinion on anything was of some importance? If so, she was gravely mistaken because she could hardly care less. In fact, Suzy believed she gave more thought to the amount of dirt accumulating on the heel of her boots since she had to walk through a muddy field to school earlier in the day.
The cliche choice of black coffee made her lips twitch in pure amusement. So far, the Banished female left no unique impression and couldn't be any more typical in her eyes. "Why would I want to be in the Underworld, dear? I'd rather suffer with mortals than be there but my mouth, huh? What of it? Oh, did I hurt your feelings? I'd say sorry but I don't care for your feelings or anything about you, really. I wouldn't have noticed you if you didn't sit here. I guess you're not powerful enough of a presence to bother me. Might want to tread carefully with me or are Banished so blind with rage and vengeance that they attack without their wits fully intact?"
Eyes following the path of the elder's, Suzy still couldn't feel impressed. Witchcraft of some sort, it seemed, or magic at the very least. For the sake of the other, she hoped it wasn't merely a superficial manipulation or her powers would not be able to compare to Suzy's. "So you judge by titles? It's good that I don't or you'd be in trouble for obviously lacking one. What'd you say your name is again? Veronica?"
Taking a sip of her latte, Suzy pulled out her cell phone with her free hand, taking note of the time. So, at least the otherwise pointless chat proved useful for something; it killed time. Brushing her hair back over her shoulder, she threw the Banished another look, wondering what miserable little quip she would whip up this time. Nothing she could say would prove the Banished to be of more power than the Gods. It was if all of them had forgotten that the reason they fell so many years ago was a lack of belief in the Gods, Banished included. Without the Gods to believe in, where would the powers of the Banished be? To Suzy, the existence of the Banished was of less importance than mortals but albeit more entertaining.

{` rolls her eyes at his act, laughing once he finishes and she nudges his side } appa, don't be so silly. You're a workaholic. So am I. Can you imagine both of us living life without completing some kind of duty at all times of the day? {` turns tense as he uses her given name, crossing her arms already as a type of physical defense. she's well aware of his disappointment in her and her perspective towards her mother and she can know what to expect } am I supposed to forgive her because she's mortal? Unless she was meant to be a whitelighter or chosen, I don't see why she is any different from the rest of them. Would you allow a mortal that's murdered another in cold blood to become a whitelighter? Some things simply cannot be forgiven. {` shakes her head, tired of the argument herself. she saw no reason to allow her mother to hurt her, her father, or anyone else let alone allow her the chance to hurt either one again. as protective as her family was of her, she was protective of them as well } ... ... . {` laughs and shrugs a shoulder, regarding her father with a soft expression as the topic's changed } I think you'll have to hear from it exactly how it went. He might tell you more about it because it's you. {` nods, finally agreeing with him after what felt like a long battle } I don't like it either. She sounds... arrogant. Approaching oppa like that in the open. I wonder if she would do the same to me. I'd like to see her try. {` grins because she loves the fact that her father values Woohyun as much as he does her } it's not easy to try anything on him either.
{` narrows her eyes at him, poking the corner of her mouth as she nods, a skeptical expression painted across her face } I wouldn't flirt! Appa, don't say it as if I'm that type of person. {` rolls her eyes } What? Who takes an interest in me? No one does so you don't have to worry, appa. {`laughs, lifting a brow } I'm not? Are you going to have the talk with me? {` laughs, poking fun at him } ... .. . .. {` grins brightly, staring at him with awe and joy reflected in her eyes } I'm happy to hear that but aren't you being biased? I'm nowhere near as wonderful as you make me sound. {` sighs, nodding because there's no way to deny that reigning the sea would be difficult. she already had her challenges as the heiress } {` cheers up, smile lightening up her face as she laughs } I'll be an old woman already and still your little starfish. {` nods, sighing to herself but laughing a second later } okay, I'll remember that but I still wish he didn't tell me I spoke too quickly in that tone! It didn't sound as friendly as you make them sound. {` purses her lips, holding one of her arms as she sighs, audibly this time } They're not used to you, appa! Don't you think they might feel a bit intimidated if they know you're taking over? {` sighs } see, you have to promise that you won't scare them! I want to check on my whitelighters too. Some of them can be as stubborn as me.
Mm. {` can't think of anything to say to add onto the topic and leaves it at that. myungsoo's not a friend. at least, not to her. they were awkward together in her opinion, flitting back and forth between cordial and bickering } ... .. {` nods, face more solemn as she listens and stares up at her father } okay, appa. I... I get it now. I won't let that bother me but it can get overwhelming at times. {` nods, thankful that the subject comes to a stop where it is } I know you do and I'm happy that you care so much, appa. I appreciate it, even if it seems like I don't.
{` shakes her head, an incredulous look in her eyes } very alike? Appa, they're not alike at all! Have you talked to Nana unnie before? She's so calm and sweet and oppa is... well oppa can be crazy and overbearing and greasy. {` wrinkles her nose in distaste and sticks out her tongue } ew, even if we weren't related, oppa and I could never be. Love of god or not! I don't think he uses his powers on her. He's so scared of doing it that he's been asking me to dim his power for a little while when he's with her but I can't. It's still a time of war and he understands. {` laughs } if you douse him, I want pictures! {` glances up and smiles, successfully opening the clam and beaming as she sees it. it's a beautiful golden pearl, a rare find for anyone and she can understand why he wanted to secure it before anyone else could } it's amazing... thank you so much! {` keeps the pearl securely in her hand as she jumps up from her bed and bounds to him, arms circling her waist as she grins into his chest, words muffled as she continues } it's gorgeous, appa.

At the offered hand of the Banished, Suzy's lips twitched in amusement. Her father always made it a point that she must be cordial towards humans when engaging in interaction of any kind with them but he said nothing of Banished except to avoid them. She couldn't avoid this one if she wanted her coffee so she stared blankly at her at first, crossing her arms instead of extending her hand out as well. Although touching a mortal seemed more repulsive to her, she was far from feeling inclined to be near a Banished let alone shake hands. Sparing a glance towards the book that was now closed, a hint of a smile lingered on Suzy's lips. "So, you admit it then? That you're inferior. That's good. Promotes adaptation. Maybe you'll survive when the Banished lose the war."
When her latte arrived, she murmured a soft "thank you" without so much as looking at the waiter again. Blowing on it softly before she took a few sips, her eyes flickered over to Victoria, as she introduced herself. Who knew if that was a lie or not? "Now, why is my mood any of your concern? Don't tell me that your leader stoops to keeping an eye on me? I'm sure you know who I am. Most people do and if you don't, well... do try your best to keep up, We are in a war. That's what I tell all our new whitelighters. Oh— that's right. We get new recruits everyday. Can you guys keep up with that too?"
Leaning back in her chair, Suzy rolled her eyes and gazed outside the cafe window. "As for someone dying, you've got to be kidding me. Those that can die in this world are mortals." She had so much more to say on the topic, harsh words that were hardly deserved by all of human society but she bit her tongue. Ranting about mortals to a member of the Banished hardly seemed wise, no matter how upset she was.

{` dead-pans at him, blinking slowly at his sarcastic suggestions } appa, you're starting to sound as crazy as a mermaid on a freshwater diet. {` huffs, a stubborn gaze in her eyes as she turns her head away, shaking it more fervidly the more he continues speaking of her mother } come back? Come back? I don't need her to come back. I don't want her to come back. What for? To abandon me again? To abandon you? Us? Our family? {` takes a deep breath, slowing the side to side motions of her head } I don't want to talk about this appa. Please? I really don't. {` crosses her arms, on the verge of apologizing but she doesn't. it's not that she can't but she refuses to allow herself, as if admitting she was wrong when she knew she clearly was wasn't acceptable. his warning was too late. suzy was as— if not more— stubborn as her father } Woohyun oppa is too considerate. The Banished he was with... I don't think she's a simple Banished, appa. She's not easily dealt with. I know it. Woohyun oppa didn't say it but I could tell. I just... oppa has less than I do now... we're the only family he sees on a regular basis and we're all busy. He may be older than me but I worry about him too.
{` cringes at his first comment on flirting } I can't believe you told your eighteen-year-old daughter it's okay to flirt. {` clucks her tongue at him, wagging her finger jokingly because she caught him in a rare mistake and it was quite hilarious in retrospect } they can't help it? Appa, all children are born selfish, crying whenever they're not pleased and only stopping once they're happy or consoled. Does that mean we should all still be selfish when we grow up? People can change. ... ... . wait— what do you mean something bad almost happened? Did nymphs flirt with you at only eleven years old? I don't know if I want the answer to that... {` laughs } will you ever stop calling me that name? What about when I come of age or turn twenty-five? Thirty? Ah— it's not like I don't like the turtles! One really said that to me! I don't speak too fast... {` pouts slightly, a small huff sounding as she flips her bangs back with a sweep of her hand } Wait, wait, wait. Three or four days? Appa, that's crazy! What about my charges? The whitelighters I supervise? The whitelighters I'm still training? You're going to do all of it?
He— I... yes, he's not— ... not my friend. {` doesn't feel sure she should've said that. if it gets back to him, she's not sure how to answer but he was normally the one that would bring up their position as whitelighters so she dismisses the feeling, disappointed in herself for constantly getting wrapped up in topics relating to or about him } they already know I'm next to be in charge. Some talk about me in a horrible manner so why should I befriend them? If you knew wha— nothing. {` mentally chides herself for slipping around him again, being around her father made her more prone to letting things simply come out because she was always most honest with him, less guarded } ... you can't lessen my duties appa. I've been doing everything else you wanted. Keeping good grades and even becoming top of my class! Volunteering at school, tutoring, making sure no one finds out I'm a whitelighter or goddess. I have my friends. I have oppa, Nana unnie, uncle Yunho, you, and Hoya oppa wherever he is because I know he'll come back. I would rather have respect than too many friends that I'm not as close to. The whitelighters we have are honest with me. Quite a few are too honest. There's not problem with that if you ask me.
{` nods when he repeats the name, smiling brightly } is it typical? I thought Nana unnie would like someone else... maybe even a mortal. Oppa too. His employees have crushes on him. Well, one does and it's funny to watch. She's new and doesn't know we're cousins so she gets jealous. You should've seen it appa! Her whole face— {` makes circle shapes around her face, focusing on the cheeks } just turned red and her huffs of annoyance could be heard all the way across the shop! And, oh— Nana unnie hasn't accepted him yet but he's so greasy. Every one turns away when he's near Nana, I swear. {` blinks a few times, clearing here throat before shaking her head, lips pressed together } no... no ideas of dating whatsoever {` lies through her teeth, smiling in a fake manner as she runs her fingers through her hair, staring down at the strands as if she's inspecting them instead of into his eyes } if you flood his shop, oppa will cry, you know and his crying is so dreadful. Remember the last time? He wouldn't stop whining for days. {` shakes her head until she notices what he's said about her growing old as well and she narrows her eyes at his door } that's not true! I am not getting old... I'm still young... I'm not even legal in Korea yet appa! {` harrumphs and sits down on her bed, bringing out the clam and working on opening it so she can admire her new present }

{` rolls her eyes } then where does all your time for work go, appa? You can't follow me around all day for twenty-four hours. I— {` tenses when he mentions her mother and she wets her lips, eyes darkening at the word alone, restricting herself from rolling her eyes } mother said a lot of things when I was younger, to me and to you. She's not exactly the best at keeping her word, now is she? What value does anything she says or said have? {` doesn't want to discuss her mother but it caught her so off-guard and she felt so hurt by it, even if the intentions had nowhere near attempting to hurt her, she can't handle it, snapping right away } I didn't mean it that way. Woohyun protects me, the most after you. {` mumbles lowly } sometimes more. {` means that Woohyun doesn't bring her mother up to her but it's not his fault, or anyone else's, it was hers for not being able to move on from it but she doesn't try, unwilling to forgive or forget for whatever reason } how was it wise? My powers are more combative than his. What if she attempted to harm him? I could orb both of us out safely— but he handled it on his own. Don't be too harsh on him. Oppa's smart. He doesn't allow anyone to be in danger and I didn't tell him him per say. He told Uncle Yunho.
{` crinkles her nose, scoffing at the idea of a nymph as her step-mother. she hardly saw the point in having another parent when she was content with her family as she was } they're shameless flirts. Am I to condone such behavior from anyone? It's a horrible trait to have or witness. {` runs her tongue over her teeth as she rolls her eyes to the side , a habit she had since young that was often misunderstood as rude but it was simply a reaction as she would think of things } turtles are nice too but starfish agree with me more often. A tortoise told me I was speaking too fast once! No, starfish are more my pace. {` grins at the compliment, forgetting what they were just taking about in favor of a happier mood because of his pride in her } the waters are in good hands {` nods, the curve of her lips turning neutral as she laments the opportunity to work with her directly but the trust in her abilities makes it worthwhile } free time? Such a thing exists? {` teases, laughing } but I think they would enjoy your training more than mine so it's a good idea.
{` at first, silence strikes her and she's trying her best to keep her jaw from dropping } speaking highly of him? Him replacing you? {` presses her nails into the palm of her hands, red crescents starting to form under the pressure } Hardly. He's not my friend. He's not. {` reiterates for no reason but to possibly convince herself. he wasn't a friend in her eyes. he wasn't anything to her yet he couldn't be nothing. the lack of title between them other than whitelighter and supervisor was bothering her and it was an awful moment for such emotions to peak } why do I need friends? {` sighs at the look she's given, not wanting to acknowledge it } why should I befriend the other whitelighters? Some respect me less for it. What's a leader without respect? {` raises a brow at the coffee bit } they dare touch your coffee, appa? That makes them the crazy ones. Every one ought to know better. Ah— I heard. Some of the seagulls were complaining to me about not being able to see fish closer to the surface. They stayed lower to avoid the quell of the waves. {` doesn't know if it was entirely him but it was worth a try to tease him again }
Oh— did I forget to say her name? It's Nana unnie! {` smiles at the name, Nana was her favorite unnie } Lovesick? Hm... ... .. he's always greasy. Is that close enough? He gets goofy when she's around and it's easy to control him if you mention her. It's really entertaining, to be honest. {` laughs } appa optimistic? I don't know if Woohyun oppa is that optimistic enough to achieve that but he'd try. He always tries. Someone should tell him not to matchmake everyone, even his cou— {` coughs, lifting her hand to her mouth, glad they were at home and not elsewhere now so she could try to make a move for her room } you're not that old, appa. I think you let me win again. I want to win earnestly one day, you know!

Once could be an accident, although it was best not to allow anything of consequence to happen by accident during a time of war, but twice would be foolish. As the Banished drew closer, Suzy could sense her presence, stilling in place as she awaited the next move but nothing occurred and she felt thankful. The last thing the whitelighters needed was to have to clean up a public altercation and wipe the memory of at least a dozen mortals of the occasion. Sitting up, chin perched in the palm of her hand as she glanced around the room, she sighed and adjusted her posture, head inclining the side as she regarded the older female. "Can I help you?"
Observing with critical eyes, she crossed her arms, lips pressing together in a forced smile as she cocked a brow. "Well? Going to answer or not?" Another sigh sounded from her lips and she gestured for a waiter to come take her order. If the Banished member wanted an audience, she wouldn't back down first. Her pride wouldn't allow for it and, if anything, she wanted to know what any Banished member could have to say to her. Most were frightened to approach her yet there sat one less than a meter away. Not sparing the waiter a glance, she asked for a vanilla latte and remained fixated on the other, seeing the book in the corner of her eye. "Need help reading?" She might've been in a horrible mood and her position amongst the Gods preceded her but a part of her reputation that wasn't well known is that Suzy had a harsh tongue. Mortals, who were under her care, were not safe, whitelighters were not, and, certainly, a Banished would not be spared.

{` laughs at the small sigh, knowing she very well had a point, although it's not a point she's glad is correct, and she shrugs a shoulder, leaning her head to the side as she thinks of what to say } he's... as cheerful as ever. More cheerful during the holidays. He's been taking care of me in the way he thinks best. Some guardian he is. {` narrows her eyes as a particular dinner was spent with someone else because of his trickery } ah— but he did take good care of me most of the time. When I had time, I popped by the store because, as you know, he spends all his time there, or at home. He's not as social as people think. {` crinkles her nose at the story he told her the other day } someone came by to see him from the Banished. I told him he should've called me but he wouldn't. He would've called you though. {` frowns, brows furrowing a tad because she liked to think she could've handled it but it was likely that she couldn't alone }
a nymph is technically a sea creature! Just... not the kind I like. {` was about to complain further when he goes into detail about her childhood, laughing at the story, frown finally turning up into a smile } I didn't want to play with the other kids. The starfish told me they were mean and always pulling them out of the water! It was rude! {` clears her throat as she realizes she's starting to be riled up and glances away, eyes flickering about as she pokes her inner cheek with her tongue } besides! You're the best father. Other people know nothing. {` nods, increasingly relaxing with the change of subject } some of them stare at me dazed after I give them a speech, appa. It's concerning but— they do relatively better after the first day. Those having a problem before are improving. I made sure of it but, of course, we could train them together. {` grins, always happy when her father speaks in that manner because he trusts her to do her job, it was an exhilarating feeling considering how some gods would look down on her, thinking she gained her rank through being the heir alone but she worked at it, if not for her honor but for his too }
don't like him? {` glances up at him, surprised, how did she feel about him? she wasn't quite sure herself but she wouldn't call it like or dislike. it wasn't only tolerance either } he's whitelighter material. I wouldn't have chosen him if I didn't think so {` trails off, noticing that she's accidentally given a hint at who he is. after all, she's only recruited one mortal to become a whitelighter so far } he's loyal, dedicated, hardworking, intelligent, attentive, and so stubborn it's— it's nothing {` catches herself for a moment, stepping away before her father very well corners her and she focuses on the clam, opening her palm and examining it } heh, I'm sure they wonder what antics their captain is up to but they admire you so it's not a big deal. Your crew is loyal, as are the whitelighters to you. It's what makes a leader, right appa? {` eyes brighten as the topic comes to Woohyun and his crush } yes! And she's very pretty, too pretty for him {` laughs, joking but still— Nana is beautiful, the Goddess of Beauty has to be } race you there {` smirks, closing her hand around the clam again and focusing all her energy on orbing, the particles of light swirling around her body as she reappears in their living room } ... did you let me win again?

{` humphs slightly in protest } can you blame me when it's been so long? The only person doing that for the past few weeks was Woohyun and Woohyun is... ... .. . well, he's Woohyun. {` shakes her head for effect because her cousin was indeed eccentric and as affectionate as her father but she was used to him } Unique as in... you ought to know best, appa. {` lifts a brow at the words he says before the abrupt cut-off } haven't done what? {` chuckles amused at his hand motion, she knows that he wants to dismiss the issue but really she can't. the mere fact that her father said the word 'touch' makes her all the more curious and she has to know what he meant but— thinking of what it most likely meant, she decides against asking } nevermind. I don't want to know about nymphs. The last time I encountered one, they weren't too friendly with me and I know the reason why. {` doesn't attempt to divulge why because it's pretty obvious } Sea urchin. {` laughs, her mood picking up a bit } I like sea urchins more compared to nymphs. {` purses her lips and nearly shudders } the way they try to appeal to men and— {` makes a connection to her mother for a brief second and the expression in her eyes harden, her mother may not have been a nymph or a flirt for that matter, but the fact remained that she played her father, no matter what her father says about what had happened } not much trouble as in the usual. Some of the new class c whitelighters can't master orbing or healing, that sort of thing {` feels guilty fibbing to her father but she couldn't imagine telling him what ordeal she was put through because of one disobedient and quite rude whitelighter, especially one that was respected by his fellow whitelighters } mm. I wonder if you would feel the same way after talking to him— I mean, he's... interesting to talk to. {` turns her head the slightest bit away, rolling her eyes when she's sure he can't see them because almost all her conversations with said rising star turn into an argument for some reason } huh? {` perks up when he mentioned bringing something for her, she had been looking forward to it almost as much as his return. it felt exceedingly special when he brought her a trinket for her charm bracelet because he meant he was thinking of her on his voyage. taking the clam, she grins widely, teeth and gums showing until she looks down at it, wrapping her fingers around it tightly as she nods, choosing to open it later at a time she can add it properly } done— hah, appa. {` nudges his arm but laughs anyway } oh? {` glances upward with him, mock glaring in case her uncle's watching but her eyes gradually soften and she laughs— it was just a joke } yup, lots of catching up! Oh—! I bet you'd like to know what Woohyun's been up to as well! He has a crush, you know, heh. {` sticks out her tongue, eyes twinkling in amusement because she knew both of them and witnessed or knew of much of the process }

All Suzy wanted was one day to herself, one day without forcing herself to sit through school with mortals, one day without having to concern herself with their safety, one day without putting what she hated before her own safety and happiness but it wasn't within her privileges. Countless times, she told whitelighters that duty comes first but she felt drained as she pushed open the entrance of the small cafe, sitting down in a chair right away and leaning over its surface, arms extended for her to rest her head. A few minutes couldn't hurt, could it? A few minutes of weakness... but she hated weakness. To her core, she hated the moments when she would act like this and so no one knew, not her father, not her cousin— no one knew from her lips. If her father knew, it would not come off as such a surprise but, for certain, she would not speak of it.
Consumed by her own personal despair, her worries, fears, and irritation had built up on top of each other, constantly spilling over when she was like this, she had not seen the Banished that was in the same cafe. Her presence should have been obvious but Suzy thought nothing of it. She didn't want to think at all, not of good or evil, Gods or Banished, Whitelighters or Darklighters, immortals or mortals. Those topics were banned from her mind for at least a moment or two. Too much responsibility was on her for it to be okay for her to act so childishly but she was still a child in many ways. Hatred for humans being one of them.

{` gives off a startled yelp when he hugs her but relaxed soon after, laughing— although it's muffled by him— and then promptly rolling her eyes } rather unique way, sounds like you appa. {` pointedly looks at him, not going to even attempt to press the subject because the nymph wouldn't come to be of importance anytime soon in her life, her father surely had higher standards even if... her thoughts break off and she almost sneers, watching herself to make sure she didn't because her father would ask and she'd hate to bring up her mother out of nowhere, she doesn't enjoy speaking of her in general for that matter } ah— {` steps into his office, glancing around to see if he's got decor up but really she just wants to know if he has a picture of her because it would make the day even better. before she can determine if there is indeed a picture of her somewhere, she catches him laying out a few papers, laughing to herself behind the palm of her hand, biting her lip as she tries to recall his questions and how best to answer } Not much trouble. What's to be expected from time to time. {` mentally makes a note to remind Woohyun and Nana not to tell her father of what had happened before, leaning against a wall, and watching him } one of the recruits is progressing rapidly. He's... earning his nickname well, I suppose. {` rolls her eyes, pressing her lips thinly together. it wasn't too odd to mention or think of him when she rationalized it to herself but she still disliked it, his existence annoying her at the moment with his— it was the wrong time to dwell on such emotions and she clears her throat, glancing at her father through shaded eyes, hidden by her bangs as she cleverly angles her head to shield her eyes and how expressive they can be } It was his tutoring. I was filling in for his regular tutor. You always tell me to be helpful at school. I tried, didn't I? {` pouts for a second, then smiles as he pulls her hair } hey! .... .. .. ... I know. I'll stay more hours tomorrow. {` jumbles the words purposely, not too pleased with the promise but she smooths the strands of her hair down, looking up at him with a smile } did you finish? Can we go home now? Or... do we have to stop by Mt. Olympus first?

(/he can’t help but find her smile contagious and even though he’s trying to keep on his strict father role, it is easily tossed aside for a more relaxed version and he finds him grinning with her, unable to resist at seeing her so happy. he feels a slight surge of his ever growing affection for her press into his stomach a bit more. knowing that she missed him and can’t fight the urge to pull her into another hug. he steps back a moment later, eyebrows shooting up beneath his matted bangs, wet with sweat from the brim of his hat and the wave of the sea.) Flirt…I wouldn’t say that. She did have a rather unique way of trying to talk herself out of trouble. (/he hints with a small smile but doesn’t go into detail, heading towards the office building in which he keeps his belonging’s when not out to sea. he figures once they’re inside they can orb home after he looks over a few things. away from the curious eyes of mortals and only because he wasn’t expecting her to be there and doesn’t want to go through the fuss of cars and the like.) That’s the way it should be. You should stay busy. (/he nods his approval, leading the way and unlocking the door from his office a moment later to usher her inside) How were the innocents? No trouble from anyone else was there? (/he questions his mind always on mortals and they’re protection first before he dives into anymore of the different factions connected to them.) Anyone in particular I should know about? (/he hints, there isn’t much that he doesn’t know already but he’s making his best attempts at preparing Suzy for her future role as leader and likes to make sure she has all her bases covered down to the very last meticulous detail. even if keeping tabs on the innocent’s was never really her favorite activity. he eyes ghost over her scolding finger and for the briefest moment he sees so much of her mother in her it makes his heart hurt. he shakes the thoughts from his head, offering her a soft smile and raising his hands in defeat.) I was only asking. Just making sure you’re doing what’s most important. (/he ascertains, with another nod of his head and circles around to his desk producing a few thin sheets of [wet] paper from his front pocket. he lays them out carefully onto the desk and curses his need to wade into water without every emptying his pockets first. his phone is also a victim laying beside the soaked parchment, slick with water. he glances back up at Suzy as she speaks of her days activities and purses his lips at her hesitation but decides not to press on about it.) Tutoring is just as important as going to school. You shouldn’t miss it either. No matter what happens, or who happens to show up. (/he means to be a bit more harsh in his words but he can’t bring himself to lecture, instead tugging at her hair to emphasize his point and grinning softly.)

{` beams at the admittance, it wasn't that she doubted her father missed her but it was nice to hear it from just the same, it had been too long since she could hear his voice or be around him in person. he could've been an orb away but using their powers for personal gain had its consequences and he would've been strictly against it, the only reason Suzy really needed to not do something } A nymph, hm? {` crinkles her nose in distaste } let me guess, did she flirt with you appa? {` smiles cheekily, stepping back and following his lead, eyes scanning the boat and where the direction they were headed in, but her vision mostly drifts back to him, nodding and smiling } of course! New whitelighters, new charges, always an innocent or two to check on. No time for rest, as can be expected. {` thinks faintly of the 'rising star' of the whitelighters and shakes her head, peeved that she had thought of him in such a precious moment, turning to her father } school? Fine, {` was never one to hide how much she detested attending school with mortals, she didn't need to but he insisted } Top of the class this term, I'll have you know {` wags a finger jokingly as she nods her head again, a smug expression briefly concealing her happiness at his questions. he was attentive, caring, strict yet loving, all a girl could ask for in a father in her opinion } Yes, this is the first I missed of classes and I would hardly consider it missing class. I was tutoring this... {` bites her tongue so she doesn't say the first word she thought of, Siwon wouldn't find the term 'idiot' amusing } classmate of mine. Nothing else to do for the day.

(/it was always a wonder to see her orb, such a small feat for a god nothing special really, but something about her in that form, in any form that she took up her goddess role—made him prouder than he would dare admit aloud. the thoughts were pushed into the back of his head as she materilized completely and wasted no time barreling into him. he kept his footing catching her accompanied by a loud umph. he was silent for a moment, burying his nose into her hair and hugging her tight ensuring that she was all there healthy and whole.) I missed you too. (/he pulled back as she did, smiling at her eyes giving her once over just to be sure nothing slipped by him.) It was long. I can never go out into the water without there being a dozen things to take care of. I spent most of it having a long talk with a nymph about why poking holes in passing cruise liners was not a ‘practical joke, nor a proper greeting to humans.’As she tried to claim. (/he rolled his eyes at the stupidity, but found his face going stern a moment later as she spoke of the whitelighters. he reached up a hand pressing it into the small of her back and leading her down off the ship.) So you’ve kept busy while I was away then? I’ll want to see all the progress you’ve made and the ideas you’ve implemented. You’ll show me won’t you? (/he signaled for the lingering crew members to lock the ship down tight, intent on getting home and out of his uniform.) What have you been up to other than training? How has school been? How are the grades? I hope this is the first you’ve missed classes? (/he didn’t last long in keeping the questions at bay as he had hoped. ten minutes at best.)

{` as she appeared on the ship's deck, making sure to appear behind a large oar as the blue and white particles whipped about her body until she was completely there, she could see him glancing at his watch, a turn of his wrist an obvious giveaway, and, although she could practically envision the scowl on his face despite his back being towards her, it brought a smile to her face because he was there. at the spreading of his arms, she grinned, their eyes meeting briefly before she started off into a sprint, crashing into him as if she was one of the waves against the side of his ship on a tumultuous night for the waters. closing her eyes and wrapping her arms around his strong waist as soon as she reached him, she buried her face into his chest and mumbled words slipped out effortlessly, like a child's, and that she was— a child— when he was around } I missed you, appa... How was your trip? {` pulls away reluctantly, a hand slipping from his waist to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear as she gazed up at him, smile still present } the new whitelighters have been progressing through their training well, in case you're wondering. {` grins, honestly pleased to mention it although there were a few troubles along the way, she had handled it the best she could without him }

Dock her here. (/he stood at the prow of his ship, sea wind whipping at his hair. the smell of salt crept into his nose as he issued a quick goodbye mentally to the water, not sparing it a second glance. he had more pressing matters to attend to. tucking his white captains hat beneath his arm, he waited a moment for stairs to be lowered before exiting the ship. a few of his crewmen gave him quick salute’s and long bow’s and he did the same.) at ease gentleman. enjoy the time off. (/solid ground felt foreign to him. a stranger after almost four weeks out on the ocean. a much needed voyage but one that didn’t come without a price. he’d left his daughter, heir to his legacy, unattended not that he worried much about anything happening to her. he didn’t like to be gone for long. knowing full well the effect abandonment could have on her. he wasn’t surprised —as he scribbled his name across a few logs—when he felt her presence nearby. he tried to fight off the oncoming scowl, as he checked the watch on his wrist, wondering why she wasn’t still in school and instead followed the familiar sensation to where she stood. beaming, he held open his arms and beckoned her closer as if she were still the same seven year old he would bring seashells home to.)
