The thing about fandom culture is that it's an unspoken rule to not get the actors involved or random people and yet the marauders lunatics fail to grasp that you're not supposed to bombard randoms with "you're so James Potter/Sirius Black/Remus Lupin coded" comments because they don't know what that is and likely do not appreciate their comment section being flooded with weirdly fetishizing comparisons, which by the way, also promote JKR's content and flood her bank account with more money.

Okay so I'm on season 5 of the walking dead and I got spoiled for pretty much everything so I know all about the Negan arc and Glenn's death.

What I dont know though is how that man could ever be redeemed. I'm genuinely failing to understand how Maggie and even the other character like Carol, Rick and Daryl didn't FLAY him right on the spot?

To hear that not only did he not die, he also GOT A REDEMPTION ARC is INSANE to me.

Aside from him literally lining people up to kill for his own enjoyment in the most brutal ways, how was everybody just okay with him raping and enslaving innocents for his own pleasure? Not to mention the entire army of likewise rapists and murderers behind him.

Season 5 Rick, Carol and Daryl would've skinned him alive on the second day.

The Marauders ironically called Severus “Snivellus” while their group was made up of: a posh four-eyed guy who knocked up his teenage girlfriendand die, a dude who at 36 still spent all day whining at his mum’s house, a professional victim who only got a teaching job out of pity and abandoned a woman 13 years younger than him whom he got pregnant, and a bootlicking twat who switched sides more often than he changed his pants. Like—none of them would’ve lasted five minutes in Severus Snape’s life, and they still had the audacity to call him snivelly? Honestly, some people have no shame.

Snape was an abused, traumatised, half-blood who was attracted to the death eaters because they provided a sense of safety and protection against the unjustified bullying he was facing since first year by the marauders and his abusive muggle father (from which his hatred for muggles stemmed) - grooming if you wanna call it that. His character was redeemed when he lost a loved one to the dark lord as he had realised the extent of his actions and eventually went on to join the light side, working for all his life as a spy for the good cause, eventually being a main contributor to the victory in the second wizarding war. His character is what you would call morally grey. Shauna Shipman, however, hunted an indigenous character for sport, stripped her, strung her up like a pig and wore her hair as a trophy. If you've got even a rudimentary understanding of indigenous history, you'd realise that that wasnt accidental, considering she was a highly educated girl headed for Brown. Maybe Shauna isnt racist, but the show writers sure as hell are🙈

Maybe I'm in my own echo chamber but I'm so glad more people are starting to realise how annoying and absolutely hateful the marauders fandom is and how much damage ATYD did for it AND the Harry Potter fandom in general. When did this fandom turn into a Wolfstar and Jegulus digital shrine? So many interesting characters and stories and opportunities to explore and you choose to regurgitate what a random fic incorrectly tagged as canon complaint says?

I'm not even joking, it has gotten to the point where literal adults with fully functioning brains lack the comprehension abilities to form their own opinions about characters.

I'm not saying that people arent allowed to enjoy non canon compliant work because they absolutely are and I encourage it because that's the whole point of a fandom and fanfics in general but it also goes the other way around when fans start raging at you because you tell them to engage with something outside of ATYD for once and to explore characters beyond somebody else's scope.

It's annoying when you arent allowed to have fun or post a character without somebody bashing you for liking them and redirecting their hatred for a character AT YOU.

For example, ATYD paints Snape as a rich, stuck-up pureblooded fascist creep who deserved to get bullied when its actually the exact opposite and everybody goes along with it.

ITS BORING AND REPETITIVE. It takes away so much fun from a fandom.

Pls ppl. I am begging you to open your minds up a bit and think for yourself instead of regurgitating some rando's opinion in order to fit in.

Also, what's up with critiquing everybody and their mother for not agreeing with your boring ass ship??

The most unrealistic part of yellowjackets isn't the random winter clothing or the changing hair colours. It's the fact that no one ever punched Shauna fucking Shipman in her smug ass face.

A TUG OF TWO

God is here, in this very room, where Severus sits, his tiny hands gripping onto his trousers shakily.

God is in the chime of the bell resonating across the old church of Cokeworth, the walls crumbling from the mould creeping up the edges, a silent killer.

God is in the hymn of the church, flowing through the singers like molasses and escaping their throats in tuneful melodies, the words beating against Severus's eardrums, sloshing like the waters of a stormy sea against the bones of his skull.

God is in the priest, an accusatory finger raised to send lashes of fire up Severus's back, eyes ablaze with fury, a fury closely resembling that of the devil's.

God is in these people, that chant and sing and sway with the rhythm of the church, ablaze with a palpable force.

But magic is in Severus.

Magic lies buzzing beneath Severus's fingertips.

Magic is in the wandering eyes of the statues at each corner of the church.

Magic is in the swirling colours of the congregation, the voices mashing together.

Magic is standing at the corner of the room with a sly smile, willing Severus to give in.

But so is God.

Sometimes I like to imagine Severus leaving Hogwarts right before graduation because he can't bear being in a place where his only options are to become a death eater or die, because he cant stand being in place where every single person has abandoned you and labelled you a lost cause already or simply because he can't face his tormentors any longer.

And so he leaves and settles down in a little muggle town, working a minimum wage job that barely pays the bills but atleast he's free from the fate everybody had laid out for him and is finally content with himself.

He finds happiness in the mundane things in life and though some may call it sad, he thinks its just perfect that he gets to go home and read all the books he can and not have to interact with people who have only ever felt a mild sense of disgust for him, the same people that had dealt him a worse hand than fate. Hes happy to sit by the window of his shitty cottage and think of absolutely nothing because when you've lived a life of chaos, the only thing you want at the end is simplicity, normalcy, however boring it may be.

Speaking into the void as I'm saying this but I get so irrationally angry and or annoyed anytime I see something marauders related because what is so interesting about these little white boys who were barely mentioned in canon when SEVERUS is literally right there like omg yall could explore his character so much but choose not to because he's described as ugly like damn, pretty privilege in fiction too??? Also I just realised that that was like one long run-on sentence lmao....
