Swamplands is an upcoming visual novel set in a world of crumbling castles, half-believed myths and otherworldly sights turned into tourist attractions.
Throughout four episodes we follow a garden hermit as he leaves the comfort of his hermitage to set out on various quests: assisting a funeral clown with her performance meant to honour a disgraced member of the royal family, chaperoning a group of children as they attempt a ritual to summon a monster from the swamp, helping a nobleman escape the pressures in his life by teaching him to live in solitude, and trying to uncover the meaning behind a prophetic vision seen by a nameless stranger deep in the Void.
