A long time ago, a human fell into the RUINS. Injured by the fall, the human called out for help. ASRIEL, the former king's son, heard the human's call. He brought the human back to the capital. Over time, the human and ASRIEL became like siblings. This human is the one we knew as "CHARA." One day, CHARA proposed a plan to ASRIEL. However, on the day they chose to enact that plan... ASGORE caught wind of what was happening. CHARA and ASRIEL were reprimanded, with close supervision being kept on the two for many months. Many years passed. The former king and queen had both become very old. By their confidence, they enlisted a training warrior; UNDYNE. To be the new Empress of the UNDERGROUND. Things looked bright. CHARA gave us proof that humans and monsters could live in peace. UNDYNE gave us hope that violence wouldn't have to be the answer. ... However. The close friends of the empress... Fell deathly ill. Her tough exterior shattered, UNDYNE scrambled to find a solution. GASTER and ALPHYS lived as the two royal scientists. If anybody could save the two, it would be them. A small sample of CHARA'S determination was used to make an experimental antidote. Something that could save the brothers. However, just one month later. ... The two passed away.

If you clip into a wall in just the right part of Breefalls, you'll find a room with a lone, red tree, nothing like the ones seen anywhere else. Interacting will initiate a battle with... a tree. .. Actually, there's a MAN behind the tree..

Empress Undyne

Once a spunky, young guard, years of being the Empress of the Underground has taken a toll on her. Papyrus and Sans' passing also had a lasting effect on her, something she intends on remedying by doing something they both dreamed of. She will obtain a HUMAN SOUL and allow the monster race to see the sun. All she needs is ONE.
