I'm new to this therianthropy topic. I know about this since 2024 but I'm new experimenting this kind of things.

Actually I'm discovering which deer breed am I, and also how diverse it could be (apparently my theriotype is a female one. She calls herself calliope and she's also only a spiritual theriotype)

Trying to explain my theriotype (maybe I'm a theriomyth??)

Okay. Hi, hello!

So... I've questioning about my theriotype because she have some things that doesn't fit too much in the deer description.

Her name's Calliope. Calli, for short.

She's a deer. Maybe a white deer but she have antlers (female deer doesn't have antlers. The only deer breed that both females and males have antlers are caribous/ reindeers); she's a small deer and LOVES to jump (just like the one on my pfp!!) her fur is Reddish brown and have a lot of white dots. She adores sleeping curling up; Every time I visualize her she live in a forest, maybe spring? (Thing that doesn't fit with caribous/reindeers. This breed lives in frozen places)

So... Actually I'm questioning if "therian" really fits to their description, cause, yk she have a lot of characteristics that actually doesn't fit at all. And I've exploring another labels such as theriomyth but... I don't really know. What do you think?

I have recently seen a few posts hating on those who spiritually connect to their kintypes/theriotypes/etc. Addressing this felt important.

We are meant to be an inclusive community. Do not allow a false sense of superiority allow you to feel as if you are above people in the same community as you. Everyone here is hated on by outside people enough, we have to stick together and stop trying to tear our community apart. It is only achieving infighting and spreading our community far too thin.

Physical therians/otherkin/nonhumans are valid and belong here. Spiritual therians/otherkin/nonhumans are valid and belong here. Those who identify in all sorts of ways belong here and are valid.

Stop distancing yourself from the only ones that will truly have your back.

I have a genuine question around the spiritual therianthropy topic. How's therian community comments around that? Because even if I identify myself as a therian, my connection with my deer theriotype is sort of spiritual. Like if she (because I'm still discovering but apparently my theriotype is a female) was a part of my soul, but even if she wants some physical appearance (masks, horns, tails, etc) is more like a spiritual connection.

Is just a genuine question don't get mad about it please :(

Idk why suddenly my mind discovered that renfaires are such a "safer" place to explore therian gear. I mean. You could say that you're a dog and only for the magic and the things no one could judge you. The faires usually happen in natural areas, near to forest. Is so... Interesting as a concept

Btw idk if renfaires actually work like that because unfortunately I've never been in one before, don't took me as a reference

Do you feel your therianthropy spiritually but don’t vibe with past lives? Yeah, me too. So I decided to make a list of alternatives. Feel free to add on!

-Whatever being made you got your soul mixed up with your theriotype(s), like a bit of old paint on the paintbrush or leftover clay worked into the next project. (This is one of the main ways I conceptualize my own therianthropy).

-You were one of the lucky few that got the animal gifts Epimetheus supposedly used up while Prometheus was busy trying to make humans perfect.

-Some cultures believe their ancestors were animals. The Ainu believe themselves to be descended from a bear, for example. You happen to be particularly connected to your roots.

-All beings are made of math, and your soul’s numbers happen to equal those of your ‘type(s).

-All beings are made of music, and you and your ‘type(s) have the same melody.

-Remember that time Apollo got really drunk and made a bunch of humans with the “opposite” parts? That wasn’t all he did…(This explains phantom shifts. Even after being put back together, you can still feel the extra parts).

-You and your ‘type(s) are bound together by invisible knots like in Iron Druid. It’s possible that everyone has these, and spiritual therians are just the ones who are tapped in enough to notice.

Sometimes when I play with my partner cat is like lol we're a deer and a cat playing together (and sometimes we hate each other) but other times we just cuddle together and sleep

I find it’s very lonely being a animal that isn’t a canine or feline. Not many places I fit into. I look through tags and content online and just nothing describes my experiences. I don’t have paws or sharp teeth. I don’t walk on all fours most of the time. I don’t want a pack or a pride, I want my siege in a rookery and my herd. I don’t bark or hiss or growl. I don’t emote through my mouth or my ears or my tail. I don’t want to sleep in a den. I am not the top of the food chain. I am not a mammal. It’s very hard to find others like me.
