“ Please be here for me ! ” Delly pleaded , lighting up at the prospect of being pulled away from her own mind-numbing boredom in favor of social interaction , regardless of what said interaction was going to entail .

something something thinkin' about Delly being the older, responsible, more mature sibling but her brother is taller than her because she's so smol and she is endlessly annoyed about it. also Delly's posture suddenly getting better every time she gets mad and starts telling someone off, her spine getting straighter and her voice climbing in octaves to compensate for her smolness.

Def don't imagine Delly offering to embroider tiny little images inconspicuously into her friends' Reaping Day clothes for good luck. Or just in general once she's in District 13 because everyone needed a little extra luck at that point and District 13's clothes are just so boring. Where did she get thread in 13? Idk, since she grew up in a shoe shop, she probably was put to work sewing or something and would have squirrelled away tiny bits of thread where she could.

Kill a bug, any kind of bug, in front of Delly and she'll never trust you again.

Delly is superstitious. Well, sort of...When your ears burn, it means someone is talking about you. When a broom falls for no apparent reason, it means company is coming. A pesky candle being difficult to light is a precursor to rain. You'll have nightmares if you sleep on your left side, because it puts more weight on your heart. Lying makes your tongue sore. The first frost of the year comes six weeks after you hear a cicada. If a lightning bug lands on you, you can make a wish and it will be granted. If pressed, she'd admit that it's all pretty silly; however, it's fun to believe in things just because.

Delly likes to take the odd bits of thread that are used in her family's shop — the bits that are too small to really do much of anything with or the thread that's so old that it can't be trusted to be sturdy enough for stitching shoes any longer — and embroider tiny designs into her clothes. The threads are always boring neutral tones and her stitching is simplistic and a bit crude. She's not as meticulous as her father is with a needle and thread for sure and she is always being fussed at by her parents for putting tiny holes into her precious clothes, but she keeps doing it anyway.
