ok just as a different view point, i am half native american and i don’t find it offensive at all. I am pretty sure i can speak on behave of most native americans that the names of these teams and their mascots aren’t offensive, they are just getting changed bc people who aren’t the targeted race think it’s offensive.

I do think the peaches is cute though 🍑🍑

do you have any suggestions for names/mascots if the braves ever decided to change it? i'm a (white) braves fan but i feel a little conflicted about the name and the only thing i've heard people say about alternatives is 'not bees.' i wouldn't mind a change as long as it was something representative of atlanta. any ideas?

honestly, the ‘bees’ wouldn’t be bad seeing as we used to be the ‘boston bees’… but ‘atlanta bees’ sounds weird now that i think about it… idk lol we were also the boston beaneaters but i do nOT want to be called the atlanta beaneaters alsjfhf

as for what’s representative of atlanta, i can only think of like musicians and coca-cola but i don’t know how you’d turn any of those into a mascot y’know?

of course, georgia is known for their peaches, but we’d be the laughing stock of the mlb if we were called the peaches.

i’m doing research as i’m typing and apparently atlanta’s ‘symbol’ is a phoenix, so maybe that would be a good mascot/name?

i guess i’ll open this up, so if anybody has an idea, send me an ask or comment!
