The Story of a Girl.

She takes a deep breath and takes a step. Slowly, she walks down the stairs. Slowly, her hands grasp the rails loosely. Another day, she questions herself, am I ready for this? She won’t consider it for long as she meets her mother at the bottom of the stairs. No longer is it a question of if she’s ready. She has to be ready.  Her mother examines her.
