          Happy birthday.

          Two words he’s long since yearned to hear from his beloved schoolmate. For years they were apart. During each and every year on his birthday, the blond would doubtlessly accept every well wish sent his way with a sincere smile and obligatory token of gratitude. Notwithstanding his rather strict upbringing in the Hazuki household, and the considerably harsh treatment he received throughout his childhood as well as prepubescent years, his birthday was always looked forward to as a break from the daily stress. A day in which each and every person in his life would reevaluate the blonds significance, and express in whatever ways wanted.

          But Makoto was absent for quite a while.                                           Not just Makoto, but Haruka as well.

          Nevertheless, his birthday was embraced happily with a smiling face each year; a countenance with sustaining no traceable dismay became effortlessly upheld. Nowadays however, the despairing void of absence is perished out of existence; or rather, has been filled accordingly, with the same beguiling warmth from all those years ago. Therefore, the astoundingly radiant expression to present itself was long overdue. Nagisa looked up with joy as he stood in a stagnant silence, keeping his disposition stationary throughout the awkwardness he was seemingly oblivious to.

          Containable merriment was in refusal to subside; courtesy of the consistent beeping and vibrating from his cellular device. Granted, having actually gone through the process of arranging a gathering as opposed to indirect communication is voicelessly yearned for in this instant, but deeming this as sufficient is quite the understatement. The blond has always been for the simpler things in life; recognizing even the most insignificant of upsides in the bleakest of situations, and acknowledging the sentiment behind caring gestures such as these. Furthermore, considering that he often forgets others birthdays, he’s quite overjoyed.

          With some quizzical unlocking and swiping, fingers underwent the designated routine, essential for bringing him to his messages. Instantaneously upon reading the senders name, lips detached from one another in incredulity and he was momentarily rendered speechless. An apparent sound of cheerfulness escaped as he anxiously read the three words a few times, before finally sustaining the composure to fathom a response of some sort. Their relationship could have been found as somewhat questionable in the past, so moments like these hold far deeper meaning than a first glance would unveil.

          Sheer glee embodied the now not-so-youngster. Regardless of who it came from, acknowledging remembrance of this day and expressing it in his direction is within appreciation, without a doubt. Of course, it’s of a distinctly unique and harboring value to perceive such words from ones beloved sister. Granted, their relationship has some imperfections, but it’s balanced sufficiently enough that such precious smiles unfold every so often between the duo. Each and every sister, notwithstanding their continuous altercations and anticipated teasing, are a delight to have.

          An incoherent noise emitted but was subconsciously stifled so not to be heard by another. Wholeheartedly, Nagisa smiled as those wide eyes of his looked upward in potential endearment for the female standing before him. The distinguishable features which embellished him were rather memorable; as was the perplexing atmosphere that transcended following her appreciated, albeit few words. He hadn’t thought for even a moment that she’d actually disregard today or forget to sent him her regards, but it’s still somewhat astonishing in the moment.

          Rapturous yearnings emerged without any shame whatsoever on this highly anticipated day. Many would refrain from speaking of it beforehand; whether out of a preference to keep a low-profile, or out of mere curiosity in wondering if people would distinguish the importance of the date on their own. However Nagisa is considerably atypical from most; for he deliberately ensured that nobody could overlook his special day. Shameless reminders were vocalized in the hallways, prior to and in the aftermath of classes, and notes discerning today were even passed throughout class to the butterfly who customarily sits before him.

          Therefore, he’s quite pleased.

          A jubilant laughter was underwent as a genuine expression of euphoria managed to manifest in but only a few moments of perceiving those kindhearted words. In some aspects, despite not being shy at all, he may not enjoy the entirety of the spotlight shining down on solely him. But once in a while perhaps indulging in the attention isn’t too undesirable. Thus his somewhat concealed but noteworthy hue of pink surfaced an inch beneath his sealed eyes, as exuberance prompted the laughter to succumb in transition to a broadly exhibited smile.

          The customary anecdote was expounded from Gou regarding Nagisa's apparent mistake, and her persistent demeanor in what to be addressed as. Regardless of her consistent demands, the blond hadn't brought the concept of referring to her as Kou into contemplation for even one moment. Especially in this instant, when the topic at hand is bestowing a sentiment bearing Nagisa's utmost gratitude and sincerest compassion towards a classmate of his. That's the reason this duo secretly rendezvoused at the mall after the practice session had ceased. Despite her nagging already, he didn't regret pursuing assistance. He'd deploy whatever means necessary.

          Rei Ryugazaki had exhibited a remarkably kindhearted demeanor. Notwithstanding the butterfly's highly apparent interest in sharpening his own knowledge and ensuring that he receives impeccable grades, Rei had rearranged his schedule in order to accommodate daily study sessions in with Nagisa. Alas, studying on his own has proven incredibly loathsome; but neglecting his studies has become horribly consequential for numerous reasons. Thus their current situation; prompting Nagisa to desperately desire to ensure that his appreciation for the others commitment is expressed.

Annoyance ran strife upon pale features, no glee or delight written within crimson hues as gaze wandered the distance. No top-notch muscles were within viewpoint for the female to admire, and Gou found that rather displeasing as she sought something, anything to fill the period of waiting. Request made by the other, yet the lone girl stood with no company or entertainment, cheeks puffed as impatient feet tapped.
