Chris mom and Scarlet...
Chris and MC
Falling In Love With You Part 3
Summary: Chris is a rich guy trapped in an awful engagement. He meets MC a young medical student and falls for her. Can Chris get out of this engagement to be with the one her loves?
A/N: This series is for @maxattack-powell one of the winners of my 400 followers giveaway hope you enjoy this and thanks for participating.

“This is gonna be so much fun” Kaitlyn bounced up and down as MC drove down to Chris’s office.
MC giggles “Alright settle down there”
“How can you not be excited? We’re planning a party for the richest family in town and we’re getting paid for it!”
“I know but we’re also gonna be professional about it”
“Professional smessional” MC laughed “We are gonna make sure they have the best party ever”
“Ok Kaitlyn just when we get there let me do the talking”
“Alright but if it gets boring I’m jumping in”
“You’re something else you know that”
Kaitlyn giggles “I know” MC rolled her eyes as she pulled up to the office building “Nice place he got here”
“Yeah”
“By the way you told me about this but don’t think you’re getting out of telling me the rest of the details”
“Alright alright” They got out of the car and headed inside the building. They approached the front desk “Hi we’re looking for Chris Powells office”
“Name please”
“MC and Kaitlyn”
“One second” She pressed a button on her phone “Mr. Powell a MC and Kaitlyn are here to see you”
“Of course send them in”
The secretary pointed down the hall “Right down there”
“Thanks”
They walked down the hall and knocked on the door
“Come in”
****
As the door opened Chris looked up from his desk and saw MC. He looked at her up and down Wow she looks beautiful why is my heart racing? Calm down Chris. He took a deep breath and stood up “Hi MC”
“Hi Chris this is my friend Kaitlyn”
“Nice to meet you Kaitlyn”
“You too”
“So let’s discuss this gala”
“Sure what’s the gala for?”
“Oh you know boring business stuff my parents put it on every year and this year I wanted to handle it”
“How boring I thought it would be cooler”
“Kaitlyn!”
Chris chuckles “No she’s right but it can be fun when I invite people I know to it”
Kaitlyn grins “What do you do? Have you pulled off any pranks? Tell me you have”
“We did”
“Oh I like you already”
MC laughs “Ok let’s get back to the matter at hand”
Kaitlyn playfully sticks out her tongue “Party pooper”
Chris laughs as MC rolls her eyes “Now what’s the theme for the party?”
“I had a couple of themes”
“How about a punk rock theme?”
MC sighs “I swear this girl needs adult supervision”
“Oh shush”
Chris laughs harder This is the most fun I’ve had “Well let’s get started shall we?” After a couple of hours the finish going over all the details Chris smiles “I think this will be our best gala yet thank you guys so much for doing this”
MC smiles “Your welcome Chris”
Chris smiles as he stares at her She has such an amazing smile it could light up a room
“Sorry to interrupt but we better get going MC”
MC rolls her eyes “Alright”
Chris chuckles “I’ll see you the night of the gala”
“Yes you will”
They leave the room and Chris sits back down What was I doing? I couldn’t stop staring at her He sighs What has that girl done to me?
****
As the head out Kaitlyn smirks “Well you could just feel the sparks flying in there”
MC blushes “No I was just being polite”
“Right and the way you were looking at each other is polite”
“What looks? I don’t know what you’re talking about”
“Sure you don’t” Kaitlyn giggles
“Quiet you we’ve got a party to plan”
****
Over the next couple MC and Kaitlyn worked hard to get the gala to together. Meeting with Chris and making sure all the details were in place
MC stood in her room on the night of the gala looking through her closet “Hmmm what should I wear?”
“Knock knock” Kaitlyn poked her head in “MC have you gotten dressed yet?”
“I was just deciding that now”
“No need Chris sent over some dresses for us”
“He did not”
“He did” She handed her a garment bag
MC grins “Awww that was so nice of him” She sees a note attached to the bag
MC,
You’ve been so helpful planning this gala for me. Couldn’t have done it without your help. Just wanted to give you something after all your hard work. I bet you’ll look amazing in this
Chris
“How cute”
“We’re you reading over my shoulder?”
“Yeah I was”
“He’s just being nice”
“Oh really? Mine didn’t come with a note”
MC blushes “Ok enough of that let’s get dressed”
****
Chris stood at the refreshment table and pour himself a drink. Grace approached him “Hi Chris the gala is really amazing this year”
“Owe it all to MC”
Grace smiled “You really like her don’t you?”
Chris almost choked on his drink “What? No we’re just friends”
“Oh really? Can you say that now?”
“What do you-” Chris’s jaw hit the floor as he saw MC walk in. She wore the deep purple long dress he had sent to her. Her light blonde hair was straightened and flowing down both of her shoulders Holy shit wow. Chris walked up to her and Kaitlyn “Hey MC”
“Hi Chris”
“You look amazing”
MC giggles “Thanks so do you thanks for the dresses”
“You’re welcome”
“Chris is that your secretary over there?”
“Yeah”
“I almost didn’t recognize her I’m gonna go talk to her. You two have fun” Kaitlyn skips away
Chris turns back to MC “Is she…?”
“Into girls? Yeah she is”
Chris chuckles “She didn’t look like she was” MC giggles as Chris looks her up and down her body “Can I get you a drink?”
“Sure”
Chris nods then walks over to the refreshment table.
****
MC smiles He looks really good tonight
“Excuse me can you get me a water?”
MC looks up and sees a girl with bright auburn hair standing next to her “I’m sorry?”
“Can you get me some water?”
“I’m not a server”
“But you work for Chris don’t you? So technically you are”
MC fumed I so wanna tell this bitch off but I don’t wanna cause a scene “I don’t work for him I’m his friend he invited me”
She rolls her eyes “He’s always doing that it’s so annoying”
“Scarlet”
They turned and saw Chris standing behind them
“Oh thanks for the drink Chris baby” She reaches it but he pulls away from her
“It’s not for you” He hands the drink to MC “Why would I get you a drink? Especially after the way you just talk to her”
“You’re always defending you friends! Why would you hang with them when you got me?!”
“Just get out of here I’m not gonna stand here and listen to you bitch”
“Whatever” Scarlet storms off
Chris turns back to MC “You alright?”
“Yeah I’m guessing that was your fiancé”
“I don’t ever refer to her as that”
“I can’t blame you she’s horrible”
“I know but forget about her you wanna dance?”
“Sure”
Chris takes her hand and they walk out onto the dance floor. As they sway to the music Chris smiles as he looks deep into her eyes “You know you look beautiful in this dress I knew I picked out the right one for you”
MC blushes “Thanks you have good taste”
“Only for the best of girls” MC smiles “So how about-”
****
A tap came on his shoulder. He turned and saw Scarlet “Chris why are you dancing with her? You should be dancing with me”
“No thanks”
“You’re my fiancé now let’s dance” She grabs his arm and starts pulling him away
Chris pulls his arms away and steps away from her “Can you stop? Why are you acting crazy?”
“You’re dancing with another girl and I’m crazy?!” She takes a threatening step towards MC “He’s mine you little-”
“Scarlet go! Leave!”
“No! You’re dancing with me!”
“Chris I should go”
“Yes go!”
Chris turns to her “No MC please don’t go”
“No I should I’ll see you later”
“No MC wait!” He tries to grabs her arms but she runs outside”
“I don’t want you talking to her ever again!”
“You can’t tell me who I can and can’t hang out with I’ll hang out with whoever I please and you can’t do a damn thing about it!”
Chris runs outside and he sees MC sitting at the gazebo. He sits next to her “I’m so sorry about that MC”
“God she is such a bitch”
“I know look let me make this up to you do you still want to go to that concert?”
“Yes I do”
“Good and don’t worry it will be Scarlet free”
MC laughs “I hope so”
“Want me to take you home?”
“No I’ll go with Kaitlyn I’ll see you soon”
“Yeah”
MC smiles then walks away. Chris sighs as he heads back inside to where his mother and Scarlet stand waiting for him
“Chris what’s this Scarlet’s telling me about another girl?”
“You mean MC? We’re just friends”
“Oh sure just friends he was dancing with her! I’m sure there’s something else going on!”
“Chris you can’t do that to you’re getting married”
“I can’t believe you’re taking this demon’s side over mine”
His mom gasps “Christopher!”
“I’m out of here!” Chris storms away
“See? That girl has done something to him”
“Well she won’t be getting anywhere near my son again”

Chris x MC as coaches for their kids peewee football team
Awww this is so cute! Thank you for this prompt Nonny 😊
Pee Wee Football
Chris paces up and down the field as he watches the kids maneuver through the plays with finesse. Sure, they have a lot to learn, especially some of the children on the team. Of course not so much his kids, as they’ve seen and heard more about football since they were old enough to sit up, but with many youth sports and activities, some children are there because they want to be, and some are because their parents want them to be.
The team’s doing well though, executing the plays better than some college and professional players Chris has seen over the years. This is Pop Warner though, and his team is part of the Pee Wee division no less, so he doesn't exactly expect them to get everything perfect. Hell, he really just wants them to have fun. They are too young to take it that serious, and what’s the point if they aren't having fun?
Some parents don't see it that way though, but that’s their problem. Chris doesn't put up with adults misbehaving around the kids, especially on his team. Yes, his team. Well, his, MC’s and Ryan’s team. The longtime friends are coaches for The Flying Hawks.
Chris smirks, recalling how the team name was suggested and strongly supported by his childhood friend at the start of the previous season. Ryan Hawkins had been like a brother to Chris since he moved to Cherryfield, Maine many years ago. Coaching with him brings back many memories, some not so great, but most are and he loves sharing the experience with him and the kids again.
He stops, turning at the waist to watch as a child from the opposing team cuts through their line and sprints towards the end zone.
Cupping his hands around his mouth, Chris yells at one of the defensive players. “Cut across Miller! Don’t let him sidestep like last time!”
Chris continues to watch the movement on the field as The Hawks defensive coach moves to stand next to him. Ryan’s slightly shorter frame is topped with a mess of black hair doing its best to hide his bright blue eyes as he crosses his arms and barks out. “Like we practiced Miller!”
Chris smiles as Ryan takes over, coaching their prodigy linebacker as he closes in on the opposing teams running back. His own experience as a running back gives Ryan an edge to coach their defensive players. That and he loves shutting down the opposing team’s offense.
Once Robbie Miller successfully tackles the player and ends the other teams push, he jogs back to the bench, receiving a pat on the back as Chris, the Head Coach smiles. “Nice work. It looks like your speed is improving too.”
The boy nods and flashes a bright smile. “Coach Hawkins has been showing me some neat tricks… it’s helped a lot.”
Chris turns his head and arches an eyebrow at Ryan as the boy moves on, silently questioning his friend with the phrasing the young player just used.
Ryan laughs and holds up his hands in defense. “It was just how to read footwork and anticipate their next move. Don’t you give me that look Powell.”
MC laughs as she approaches the pair, placing a hand on each of their shoulders as she splits the two. “Let’s not start this again, okay?”
Ryan snaps his mouth shut and laughs through his nose as Chris opens his own to fire back when a commotion across the field causes them all to pause and turn to face the source. It doesn't take long to identify that the loud, irritated string of complaints is coming from as the Head Coach for The Comets as they watch him march across the field.
Sensing something is up, the referee comes over to intervene, but the opposing coach steps around him and only pauses when he stands in front of the three, specifically throwing Chris a glare before glancing at the other two. Chris doesn't miss as the angry coach’s gaze lingers on MC longer than necessary before his crabby expression focuses back on him.
“This is… bullsh-” He hesitates when he sees Chris’ eyes narrow. “It’s BS.”
Chris stands straighter, shifting to put himself slightly between the angry coach and MC. He sees Ryan do the same, moving forward a step so the man can't easily reach MC if he tries anything funny. Chris doesn't anticipate anything like that, but the way he just looked at MC bothers him a little, making it difficult to know what his intentions are. Angry coaches and parents are not a new experience for Chris. He sees it more than he should, especially during a pee wee game for children. Anytime he sees an angry adult during or after a game, Chris feels his blood boil.
Ryan speaks up next, his body language easily showing his annoyance with the sudden shift in mood. “What’s that exactly? Our players breaking your winning streak with legitimate game-play?”
The red faced coach turns to face Ryan now, his eyes narrowing as his cheeks turn slightly darker. “Legitimate?” He scoffs before turning his gaze and lifting his chin towards Chris. “My offensive coach just realized you’re Chris Powell.”
Chris shrugs and Ryan lets out an amused laugh as he looks across the field. “And?”
“Chris Powell, the Hartfeld Knights National Championship Quarterback.”
Ryan’s nose scrunches up with his increasing annoyance. “And..?”
Chris sighs and turns at the waist to look at MC, noting how unsurprised she looks with the entire situation as the opposing coach continues to rattle off many other reasons why Chris’ involvement is unfair.
He turns back to the escalating situation, noting that Ryan and the referee both appear to be over the situation at this point. Chris watches the coach disregard the warnings he receives from the ref to go back to his side and continue the game or he will remove him. The tense muscles in his friend’s neck also indicate that if something doesn't stop this from continuing, and quick, Chris might lose his Defensive Coach for the rest of the game.
His own irritation grows from the opposing coach’s words as he clearly implies that it's an unfair advantage for Chris to be coaching in his own kid’s football team. It shouldn't matter what he’s done in the past, or even what he does now. The kids are doing all the work, and they should be getting the credit.
“Okay.” Chris says suddenly, his tone firm as he raises his voice just enough to cut them all off, instantly gaining everyone's attention. “So you think it's unfair that I’m here. What… what do you want? Want me to sit out?”
The other Head Coach takes a step back, glancing at his team and coaches on the opposite side of the field before turning back towards Chris. “Yes.”
Chris does his best not to smile, giving a quick nod as Ryan and MC remain quiet to his side. The referee looks at them both. “Are you sure? You don't have to do this.”
Chris shrugs. “If it will end this nonsense so the kids can get back to their game, I’ll do it.” He doesn't move his eyes from the insecure man just a few feet from him.
The other coach sniffs and glances at both Ryan and MC before focusing on Chris with an almost cocky confidence. MC arches an eyebrow as the man turns and marches back towards his team.
The ref turns to them once more, his questioning expression making Chris nod once more. “Okay, if this is happening… I suggest you leave the field.”
Chris gives the referee a small, calm smile before turning towards MC, his blue eyes glued to her hazel pair. “Sorry.”
She suddenly smiles wide, her neutral expression in front of the other coach instantly gone. “Hey, I was getting kinda bored with his plays… so no complaints here.”
Chris and Ryan both laugh before he kisses her on the temple and turns towards the stands, giving some of the kids high fives some on his way. He makes sure he's far enough away that the opposing coaches can see he’s removed himself from the game, but not far enough to miss the rest of the game.
Ryan laughs hard as he turns towards MC. “You ready doll?”
Her lips break open into a wide, toothy grin. “Let’s do this Hawkins.”
MC gathers her offensive players, quickly running through the plays they've practiced many times before, making sure to point out specific flaws in the opposing teams behaviors from the game so far. She watches with pride as they grin and nod, their eyes shifting amongst themselves as they confirm their next moves.
They break and scatter across the field, setting up on the line of scrimmage as they wait for the other team. The team pushes down the field after the snap, making every down before scoring in record time. She claps and cheers as they leave the field, receiving hugs from many of the players before Ryan sends their offensive line out for the next play.
He coaches them as The Comets do their best to rush, their purple clad players failing to gain much distance with each attempt. It doesn't take long before MC is sending the offensive players out again, leaning over as she addresses some of the blue and white jerseys. “Alright. You know what to do.”
They nod and take off as she watches, placing her hands on her hips as everyone moves into position. Right before the snap, she turns and searches, her eyes easily finding a familiar pair of blues looking back at her with joy. Chris’ eyes crinkle at the corner as he coughs into his hand, trying not to laugh at the stern looks on the opposing coach’s face.
MC turns back towards the field with new energy, chuckling softly when Ryan bumps her shoulder with his own. “You're enjoying this.”
She shrugs and bites her lip. “Not as much as you.”
Ryan scoffs with a smirk. “That is a lie.”
The Hawks continue like this until the game ends, taking much less time than they typically do. Both teams take the field once the clock runs out, lining up to fist-bump one another with mumbles of “good game” as the lines pass each other. Ryan and MC walk towards the center as well, meeting the opposing coaches for their friendly post game handshake.
They remain silent as The Comet’s Head Coach approaches, begrudgingly lifting his hand to shake MC’s, then Ryan’s. “Good game Hawks.”
They nod, doing their best to contain their amusement. “Good game Comets. Your kids played well.”
The coach does his best to hide his remaining irritation, forcing a smile before nodding once and turning back towards their bench. MC just stands there as Ryan does his best not to completely laugh out loud, her own smile threatening to crack as a large warm hand finds the small of her back.
She doesn't move, but turns her head to look over as Chris appears next to her, slinking his hand over and around her waist to tug her close. “Think he learned his lesson?”
MC’s gaze slips from his as their players run after Ryan as he waves for them all to follow him towards the sidelines, cheering with them along the way. “Maybe. I didn't want our kids to crush the others though. It’s not their fault he’s their coach.”
He laughs. “Ayuh, you’re right.”
MC gnaws on her bottom lip for a moment before scrunching up her nose. “He started it.”
Chris smirks and leans over, nudging her temple with his nose before he kisses the same spot and speaks low, just for her. “That’s my girl.”

(Long post, no read more)
****
In hindsight, Emily realises that she probably should have told Chris that she was pregnant.
But she was scared of love, their love.
For lack of a better word, Chris is perfect.
He always has been.
It’s hard to bear, the feeling of helplessness. Her life had spiralled out of control, she was lost, but Chris, he had it all put together, he knew just where to slot every single piece of his puzzle.
Captain of the football team with scouts fighting for his attention, President of the student body, his laughter, his presence, his grades, all free from fault.
She was torn. Absolutely, and irrevocably in pieces, damaged. The choices that had come to rest upon her shoulders were heavy, a burden that she simply couldn’t carry.
She had done it for his own good. He deserved better.
She chews her thumb nail down to the quick as she sits in the isolation room, a one way window between her and the rest of the world.
She did it for him, everything she has ever done is for him, but now it doesn’t seem right to look him in the eye and tell him that. The guilt gnaws at her, her head battles with her heart, and a thin film of sweat begins to bead upon her brow.
She tries to sort through her thoughts, and summaries the basics — she woke up one day, woke up feeling different. She was done with trying to figure out who she was. The simplest decisions — choosing a major for her course, choosing a rug for their apartment, she found that nothing brought her peace.
Is it possible to love a person too much? She was drowning in the process of loving Christopher Powell. Everything has been turned inside out, and she found herself slipping.
By the time she had realised she was pregnant, she had already lost him. Her seemingly infinite lack of direction did nothing but clash with the unwavering focus that revolved around him.
They were destined to unravel, gravity tearing her away from his orbit, despite the law of attraction that she chose to ignore.
In a way, it almost seems quite appropriate that this is about to come full circle with him, the journey has been long, but for all her efforts, the path of least resistance was just beyond her grasp.
Emily sighs. Her fingers curl into the lip of the large timber table. Her knee jiggles as she bounces her leg, butterflies in her bones.
Her nerves still carry that blunt edge of hatred, but she’s not sure who she detests more, him, for doing this, or her, for allowing things to come to this.
The scene in front of her shifts, and broad set of shoulders fill the pane of transparent glass, framing his body.
He wears a heavy greatcoat, it’s lined with thick silk. It’s double breasted, and billows our behind him as he walks. She watches as he removes it, hands it off to somebody else and his thumbs and index fingers draw his suit coat together, fastening the top button. To say that he looks immaculate is an understatement.
There’s a small sliver of grey at his temple, it’s barely there, blends back into the thinning blonde short back and sides, but she has always had a good eye when it comes to Chris.
She practices his name, one word, five letters. But it doesn’t seem right, it doesn’t roll from her tongue like it used to before.
Her heart beats frantically. It churns up the storm inside her. She wonders if he can hear it.
At one point in her life, he made her heart beat every single day that they were together. After she left, living was like a chore without him.
If there’s one thing that she does know for certain, it’s that she’s not prepared for the heartache he’s about to dredge up.
How did she ever let him slip away?
Her thoughts are interrupted by the turning of the door handle, and the President of the United States of America’s stepping across the threshold.
She swallows thickly, her mouth is so dry.
She’s mortified when the first thing she asks for after twenty years is a glass of water.
He blinks, inhaled and exhales, and nods, ever conscious of the fact that Becca is watching them, probably making mental notes about their interactions, ready to strike when the opportunity presents itself.
She sips enough to wet her lips and relieve her dehydration before he addresses her.
“Emily Day. You know why you’re here.”
How bittersweet his words are.
“Yessir.”
He doesn’t sit, but he doesn’t stand either. He paces, drawing his fringe back from his forehead, and she wants nothing more than to reach out and touch him.
“Why? I just want to know why, Emily.”
It feel like such a long way down from here. She feels sick to her stomach. She hunches over, and he barely has enough time to take a step back before she’s purging the meagre contents of her stomach.
The stench of bile lingers in the air, he flares his nostrils and looks at her with utter disdain and complete disgust. “Christ. You did not just do that.”
He kicks the leg of her chair away and shakes his head. “Just tell me what I want to know. Why? Why didn’t you tell me? What have you the right to keep that to yourself?”
The bitterness in his voice seems to resonate, eating away at its host, feeding his anger, burning a hole right through his heart.
Emily wipes her sleeve across her mouth and licks her lips. “Does it really matter, Chris? What’s done is done.”
He slams his fist on top of the table and she flinches.
“You don’t think I had a right to know that you we’re pregnant with my child, Emily? What kind of selfish bitch are you?”
He pinches the bridge of his nose and clears his throat trying to calm the rage that flares inside him. The fact that he’s barely able to conceal his rage is more than she deserves.
As if she hasn’t already suffered enough.
“It was one less thing for you to worry about, Chris. You had so much to worry about, after everything your father did, after what Manny did, I didn’t want to be another person getting in your way. Playing for the Nightingales was your dream, Chris. How were you going to do that with a newborn stuck to your hip?”
She watches him push away from the table with so much force that it scares her. This isn’t the man that she fell in love with, she knows that he’s gone. It makes her shoulders heave, her chest rising and falling as the ache claws at her heart, trying to twist it into some sort of ugly, misshapen knot. “I didn’t tell you because I wanted to make your choices easier. You were struggling so much.”
Chris wants to throw his head back and laugh. “Did you get rid of the baby, Emily? Did you do that? Huh? Make your own choice easier?”
“No! I would never do that, Chris. Of course I wouldn’t. I couldn’t.”
He raises his brow, his eyes narrow, and understanding dawns on him. She thought about it, she seriously considered having a termination without even talking to him. “Un-fucking-believable.”
It feels like the room is closing in around her. Despite the fact that Becca and several of the President’s personal aides are still watching the spectacle, she’s forced to swallow her pride when he speaks again.
“I would have followed you anywhere. I would have given you anything. I would have made sure our family was taken care of. And I sure as hell would have loved my son or my daughter with everything I have.”
His words are slowly killing her.
Neither of them notice when Becca turns on her heal to leave the room, so focused on one another, his eyes burning into Emily like he can have that moment back again for a do-over.
The best minivan dad ever.
That’s what he’d said. And they’d both agreed. And he’d kissed her, and she’d closed her eyes and imagined what life would be like with the children they might have.
She chokes on the lump that forms in her throat, all of their hopes and dreams had been shattered.
She still remembers that morning when she woke, the ache in her abdomen as she kneeled on the bottom of the shower, tiles digging into her knees as she watched the crimson blood swirl down the drain, their baby forever torn from her womb, gone, like it had never existed.
And it was in that moment that she had made the decision not to tell him. What good would it do? She didn’t want him to know the pain of that heartache. “I know. I knew that then, like I know it now. But you didn’t need the distraction. And when I lost the baby — it was like fate telling me that I didn’t have to worry anymore. Besides, I’m sure Becca was quick to comfort you.”
His head snaps up. She can hear the joints in his neck crack as he juts his chin forward, his shoulders straighter than she has ever seen them before. “A million kids or not. I would have been happy because we were together. I loved you, Emily. I only ever wanted to be happy with you. How quickly you forget.”
She shakes her head. He’s wrong. That weekend away, it’s permanently etched into the folds of her heart, she remembers it like it was yesterday. The way that they meandered through the markets together. The sumptuous salmon. The aftermath, small of her back pressed up against the window as his lips, and his fingers, caressed the length of her body.
Her shoulders shake as she sobs.
“You’re pathetic, Emily.”
His assessment is so accurate that she doesn’t even try to argue. He’s right. He always has been. She’s just a loner hiding herself away in an apartment across the ocean so that she doesn’t have to see his face wherever she goes.
He’s like a ghost, he haunts her. The therapy only helps some of the time because her wounds are too deep, the fissures give way to the worst parts of her grief.
“This book of yours will not be published. I will not have my good name sullied. Do you understand?”
She looks up at him, her brows drawn together in a frown. He thinks this is about him? It’s about so much more than that. “Chris, I need to publish this book. It’s my journey to self discovery. Writing is the only outlet I have, I need to heal from everything that happened. You think this has been easy for me? It hasn’t! Please don’t do this.”
He’s silent for a moment. Not because he needs to think about what she asks of him, no, this is his decision, and his word is final. He stops because this is a woman he doesn’t know. She’s desperate, she is flailing, it looks like her life is falling apart, and he knows that he’s about to force the final nail into the coffin. “Becca has the paperwork. She can go through it with you. Miss Day. If any of this so much as reaches the light of day, I will not hesitate to have you placed behind bars.”
She gasps. His words are so cold.
Christopher straightens his tie, adjusts the knot and licks his lips. He runs his index finger along the inside seam of each sleeve cuff, draws his fingers through his hair and smiles at her, stepping closer to the door.
With his hand on the doorknob, he turns to look at her over his shoulder. “Oh, and if you think that’s bad, I’ll throw away the key myself.”
He cracks his neck, sets his jaw and leaves her as he closes the door and disappears.
She watches him go. This time he’s the one leaving. And first the first time in her life, Emily thinks that she finally understands why the President of the United States is the man that he is today.
She finally understands what it was like when she walked out and left him some twenty odd years ago.
And as sure as the sky is blue and the grass is green, she knows that she has failed the only man she has ever loved.

I know I'm a little late to the party, have reread the story just to freshen up my memory. Just so I could read the last chapters that I haven't read yet. List interest in reading last summer for personal reasons and just started to catch up on everything I've missed here on tumblr.
My God they are married. I'm so happy right now. Beckett is so thoughtful, he called Orianas friends just so they could be with them on their big day (even if it's not physically).
A Twist of Fate ch.33 -With This Ring
The Elementalists au
Beckett x MC (Oriana)
Words: 1965
Series Master List
Complete Master List
There’s only going to be a couple more chapters after this :)
This AU is set after everyone graduates Penderghast, and Beckett and Oriana were never friends. Fate, however, may have a different plan for them.
Beckett and Oriana arrived at the Town Hall, where Oriana quickly slipped inside a restroom.
“Beckett…there’s no café here.” Tom strode in the hall’s doors, looking around confused.
“Yeah…why are we here? Dave chimed in. “Melissa called me on the way over to make sure this was the right place.”
Beckett grinned as he pulled on his suit coat and buttoned it. “It’s a surprise. Will your wives be here soon?”
“Already here.” The women came in and kissed their respective husbands. “Where’s Oriana? I thought she was coming.”

My Sister's Best Friend -Ch 9
The Elementalists au
Beckett x Oriana
Words: 4730
Series Master List
Complete master List
Katrina Harrington is only two years older than her younger brother Beckett. Her best friend, Oriana Miller, is practically part of the family. After spending one year abroad, Katrina and Oriana return home, and Beckett finds himself enchanted by the red-haired beauty. Something changed between them while she was gone and now that’s she’s back, can he summon the courage to tell her how he’s truly felt all these years, or will she continue to only be his sister’s best friend?
The next morning, Beckett woke up a bit sore. He’d forgotten how uncomfortable sleeping on a floor can be. He heard chatter coming from the kitchen area, and both Katrina and Oriana were gone from their sleeping bags, so he stood up and walked to the kitchen, pausing a moment in the doorway and taking in the sight.
They were both at the table with plates of food and steaming mugs of coffee in front of them, and Oriana’s parents were with them too, asking all kinds of questions about the upcoming semester, and more about their year abroad. Everyone was talking animatedly and laughing, and it was such a sight for sore eyes. He wasn’t used to this at all, and having breakfast with his own parents was a foreign concept. He stood there hovering awkwardly for several minutes before Mrs. Miller noticed him, giving him a genuine smile.

October Challenge Day 4: Sticking to Tradition (Chris x MC)
Author’s Note: I haven’t written these two in forever! It feels good to go back to the pairing that started it all. And of course, I had to do something wedding related because after everything these two have been through, they deserve happiness. Also, thank you to everyone who’s requested a fic for this, you’re going to be seeing several of my old and new pairings throughout this month.
I am going to warn you though, the next ones probably won’t be posted on time because some prompts I’m finding more difficult to write than others and I’m also trying to write A New World Order as well. I will get them done I promise, they just won’t be on the day they’re supposed to be out. I think part of what’s holding me back is the time restraint so, I figured I would sacrifice getting these done on time for the good quality writing I want to give you!
Book/Pairing: The Freshman Series (Chris x MC)
Rating: PG-13
Summary: The night before the wedding Chris tries unsuccessfully to convince Maddy to forgo two final traditions.
@endlesshero1122 , @kinda-iconic , @syltti78 , @maxattack-powell , @chantelle-x0x, @choicessa, @choices121
A blissful yet reluctant sigh escaped my lips as my eyes wandered to the digital clock inside the hotel suite. My breathing was still irregular from our intimate activities that had just finished several moments earlier. It was almost midnight and a long day awaited us tomorrow, the one that had been circled on our calendars and printed on fancy stationery for months. Which meant it was time for me to ensure that these last few wedding traditions were upheld, no matter how old fashioned and superstitious they were.
“Still nervous?” Chris asked hearing me.
“A little,” I admitted. I had shared my insecurities about if we would actually last given our history and that of both our parents. “But, that’s not the reason for this.”
“Oh. What is then?”
“It’s getting late,” I murmured with reluctance, a part of me not wanting to leave for my own hotel room that was a floor above.
At this, he furrowed his eyebrows feigning a look of confusion. “So?”
I gave him a pointed stare, seeing through the innocent act he had put on.
“You know what. This is happening to matter how many times you’ve delayed this tonight.”
He responded with a dramatic pout that instantly made me laugh. “Are you sure I can’t convince you to stay? I actually let you sleep now.”
Still giggling, I held my ground. “Chris! That’s not gonna work on me. We agreed to this…months ago. We won’t be separated that long. You just have to survive until eleven, we’ve done this before. Think of it like at your mom’s house.”
“That’s never stopped us. Why should a little outdated tradition either?”
I rolled my eyes and began to untangle myself from his arms and out from under the covers. Just as I had gotten free enough to sit on the edge of the bed, his arm stopped my progress. Turning with a sigh, I met his gaze. I had never shared how much this habit of giving in to life’s superstitions meant to me. I was afraid he would think that I didn’t believe in us, in our marriage lasting.
“Hey, it’s for good luck. I know you don’t believe in that stuff but I do, especially when it comes to us. During every hardship, every time we almost didn’t make it to this day…these stupid little comfort things are what made sure I never gave up. So, please, just do it for me,” I pleaded in a serious tone.
At this, he dropped his arms and I stood and put my discarded nightgown on from the floor. I walked across the room and paused at the doorframe as my lips twitched up.
“Besides,” I added, coyly looking back at him. “It’ll be easier to keep you from seeing my dress until you’re supposed to.”
At the reminder of another tradition that required his restraint, he groaned in protest. “You tempt me. Are you really not going to even give me a hint of what it looks like?”
“Nope. Not the shape, or the material, nothing. It will be white though, I can give you that. I also think…that you will love it,” I replied, the giddy feeling of keeping this secret radiated through me.
His expression remained pouty until a mischevious grin appeared. “So if I tried to sneak up to your room to see you…?”
“Don’t even think about Powell.” I shut him down immediately. “Becca and Kaitlyn will be guarding that door like a hawk and they’re my bridesmaids so they’re loyal to me. You could bribe them with all the gold in Fort Knox and they aren’t gonna let you in. Sorry, you’ll just have to wait and see.“
“Why are you torturing me like this! You know I’m bad at resisting temptation.”
I simply gave him a smirk. “I already told you, it’s a tradition and I want to see your reaction. Besides, you always torture me with surprises. Now, it’s my turn.”
“Fine,” he relented with a sharp exhale.
“Hey, Chris. You can do this,” I told him. My eyes drifted to the clock once more and seeing that it was officially our wedding day, my smile grew. “All you have to do is make it through the rest of the morning. And then, I will be all yours and you all mine.”
A matching look of happiness overtook him. “Yeah.”
I turned to finally leave but was stopped by his voice.
“Maddy?”
“What?” I lingered by the doorframe once more.
“I know we can do this. We’ve done all the counseling and the reading. I know it won’t be easy but, it’ll be worth it. We will be better than my father and your parents. I will love you, always and forever. I promise.”
I gasped slightly, a wave of emotion washing over me. I was the writer and yet it was Chris who always knew the right thing to say. And he knew that out of all the phrases in the world that those three words were my favorite.
“Always and forever,” I repeated them, the phrase dancing on my tongue. “I’m gonna hold you to that.”
I finally said goodnight and slipped out into the hallway. The silence allowed my thoughts to linger on that promise, and a warmth grew in my heart. Because somehow I knew that unlike in fiction that for us those words and our love would last.

“…And now please welcome to the stage Chris Powell”
He takes another deep breath “It’s showtime” He walked up to the podium “Hello and thank you for coming to the launching of my book Just a Kiss. When I first wrote this book I didn’t expect it to be a big turnout. I’m grateful for all the support I’ve had in writing it. But this book isn’t all fiction there’s a story behind it…”
****
Chris quickly finished typing then slumped in his chair Finally I’m done for the day. He packed up his things and headed out
“Mr. Powell?”
Chris turns around and sees his secretary “Hey Gabby what’s up?”
“Well I just wanna tell you my husband got a promotion at work”
“That’s awesome congratulate him for me” He sees her face fall “Is it not good news?”
“It is but it involves us moving to Washington”
“Washington state? Why didn’t you tell me this sooner?”
“I’m sorry but nothing was set yet I couldn’t really be sure if it was gonna happen. But don’t worry I got a replacement for me”
“You do?”
“Yeah a friend of mine just moved here and she’s been looking for a job I think she’ll be good enough to take my place”
Chris sighs then smiles “Ok only cause she needs a job I’ll hire her”
Gabby grins and claps “Thank you Chris you won’t be disappointed”
“Let’s hope not and hey good luck to you” He places a hand on her shoulder “You’ve been more than just a coworker you’ve been a friend to me. You’ve always given me great advice”

“In the living room” Chris enters the living room and sees he reading the mail she looks up “What is this?”
“What?”
“This!” She points at the mail “Why are you taking money out of our account?”
“To pay the bills”
“You can’t just take money out of that account without telling me!”
“Why? You take money out of that account but when I do it it’s a problem”
“You know you wouldn’t have to be scraping at the bottom of the barrel if you weren’t paying for your brother’s tuition”
“How else is he gonna go to college?”
Nicole throws her hands in the air in frustration “I don’t know tell him to get a job!”
“Minimum wage isn’t gonna cover it”
“Well tell your mom to pay for it!”
“My mom works hard enough she doesn’t need more bills on her hands”
“Ugh this is so typical of you you’re always putting your family before me!”
“Don’t put this all on me! At least I work and not sit on my ass all day”
“You know I’ve been looking for a job”
“Yeah you said that a year ago you’re not even trying”
Nicole scoffs “Whatever Chris!”
Chris clenches his jaw and throws his stuff on the ground “I need a drink”
He drives down to the bar anger filled his body Ugh that woman drives me crazy!
He enters the bar and the bartender grins “Hey Chris!” He frowns when he sees his expression “Uh oh another fight with Nicole”
“Yeah”
“Your usual?”
“Please”
The bartender makes his drink and hands it to him. After a couple of drinks Chris decides to head home. As he steps off the stool with his drink he bumps into someone spilling the drink all over “Oh geez I’m so sorry”
“Don’t worry about it”
He looks up and sees a women with beautiful raven hair. Chris doesn’t even notice he stops breathing as he looks into her hazel brown eyes “Umm…l-l-let me help you out there”
“Thanks”
Chris helps her clean herself up “Really sorry about that”
“It’s alright it happens”
Chris stretches out his hand “I’m Chris by the way”
She shakes it “MC nice to meet you Chris”
“How about I make it up to you by buying you a real drink”
“I’ll take you up on that” He orders her drink and the bartender nods and starts to make it
“Haven’t seen you around here before”
She raises an eyebrow in amusement “So you know everyone in town?”
Chris chuckles “No it’s just I’m a regular and I basically know almost everyone that comes here”
“Well I just moved here”
“Really? Well if you need a guide around town you can give me a call”
“Thanks you’re the first friendly face I’ve met it can get boring in a unknown place”

“I’ll like that see you MC”
“You too Chris”
Chris watches her as she walks away he smiles She’s beautiful. He downs his drink and heads home.

Aaargh!!!! You can't leave us with a cliffhanger like that.
Damm you Sebastian.... 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
The Freshman: Book 2-12
The Freshman
Book 2-12
Chapter 12: The Debate
***Labeled as 2-12 in my masterlist - heavily modified***
———————–
Masterlist - go here for other chapters and related original fics
———————–
Disclaimer: The following are fics (adaptations from actual game chapters AND original works) to Choices: The Freshman series. It is a fictional adaptation. I do not work for Pixelberry Studios, the game developer or own the rights to the characters Chris Powell, Nicole or any other IN GAME character. All of the ORIGINAL characters, storylines and events were developed, by me, for this adaptation of The Freshman story.
Comments: I enjoyed playing Choices: The Freshman… But it needed more. I’ve included certain things that aren’t really full fic size in order to add more substance to the story. I ALSO have quite a few full size fics throughout. I wanted to see MC and Chris through their college years, and more… with additional angst, fluff, sweetness, real life and overall detail - so here you go.
Word Count: 7,846

Paring: MC x Chris
POV: ~MC~ or ~Chris~

~MC~
The rest of the weekend is much like the week had been. The pair enjoyed their Monthiversary celebration, but the brief moment of relaxation didn’t seem to last long for the Hartfeld couple. MC understands why though. The debate was Monday, which leaves only two more days to prepare. Chris continues to do his best and acquire as many votes as possible, but it’s time for all hands on deck for everyone involved.
The weekend goes fast, and things are looking good. The two spend some time getting reacquainted over the limited time, but Monday morning arrives before either are ready to accept it.
MC yawns and stretches in her bed, mentally searching her closet for the outfit for the day. It’s finally the day of the student body presidential debate, so she wants to do her best to support Chris, and impressions can be everlasting, so she takes some time to choose wisely. While she would love nothing better than to slip on a soft, worn t-shirt and some jeans, today requires more effort in the clothing department.
She stands when a few ideas pop into her head and begins to search the small space for particular items, finally settling on a very First Lady looking ensemble. Pulling a nice light grey dress shirt and a semi-casual blue jacket out of her closet, she digs in her dresser to locate a pair of stretchy black slacks, anchoring it all with a pair of black ankle boots. She finishes getting ready, taking a quick shower, fixing her hair and adding the perfect amount of makeup before she heads out.
Chris had left early that morning, kissing MC on the forehead before he slipping out of her bed to go for an early morning run. He had become more and more anxious as the big day approached, so every day for the past week he usually left early in the morning, going for a run or to the gym to workout with free weights. Today was no exception, much to her disappointment.
