OFC!! I'm glad this made your day! :D I have my own little backstory for Midori solely just because there isn't one. It's not even like a headcanon or anything it's just a fun thing I sat down and wrote because I like to fill in gaps in stories. I'd love for Nankidai to actually give a backstory for him but I don't see that coming anywhere in the near future. Not to excuse his actions, but to explain why he became what he is. People tend to gloss over Midori as this pure evil. He has nothing to explain his actions, so he was probably just born with it, right? No. That's not how that works. also yes i am SUCH a midori fan he makes me SO SO angry but I ADORE how he was written.

Honestly idk why some people seem to think that Midori had a perfectly normal childhood and she's just a horrible monster for absolutely no reason. Sure there are a lot of people who are evil for the sake of being evil but from the way Midori's character is presented there's very clearly more to her than that. Blah blah blah mandatory "this isn't me trying to come up with excuses for her actions i just think her behaviour makes a lot more sense if you look at it from this perspective". If you're only willing to view any villain from an angle of "this character does bad things" and nothing more you're probably going to have a very hard time understanding that character and their actions.

Idk if this makes any sense or if I'm just spouting rubbish. I'm not a professional just a very obsessed fan.

I AM SO GLAD SOMEONE ELSE GETS THIS. I've studied psychology for years and I genuinely DO NOT THINK he was born the way he is. People who accept that he was just "born a monster" don't really dig into his character. Midori is a sociopath. Point blank period. Or, the more recent medical term, has ASPD. I'm not the kind of person to be like "he acts like this so he HAS to have a mental disorder" but everything he does falls into a very basic definition of ASPD. ("a person consistently shows no regard for right and wrong and ignores the rights and feelings of others" -Mayo Clinic, 2023) ASPD can be genetic but generally ties into environmental factors along with genetics. He could've inherited it but I think his younger years were pretty fucked to make him act the way he is. He hits extremes that just couldn't have necessarily happened with a happy, normal childhood. Although I can't determine what seeing as there's really not a lot to work with in regards of his own story. Midori is, at least in my opinion, NOT a character that was just "born like this". Someone who studies humans in the most insane way possible was not "born like this". People who argue that have not done enough looking into his character. I could probably break down his character for hours but I will spare the yap, lol (sorry guys i love midori)
