i recently bought the legends of localization book on earthbound because that kind of thing is really interesting to me, and before i bought it i was kind of deliberating like 'well i haven't even actually played earthbound myself, i just watched someone else's playthrough on youtube- can i really justify buying this book if i'm not the worlds #1 mother fan?'

anyway im like 130 pages in now and don't regret it, because its super fucking cool and i love learning about this kind of thing. i should have been confident it would be worth it based on how much i enjoyed learning about persona 5's localization issues, despite having an active disinterest in the persona games

i dreamt neopets accidentally renamed the flashgame “Frumball” to “Of Montreal” and nobody had noticed somehow

i went to bed earlier than i have been lately, woke up four hours later after having what i think qualifies as a nightmare- i dreamt was at some ladys house with crazyass stairs and a ton of fucked up cats.

the ones i remember:

white cat with really short hind legs after he got squished against 2 other cats all the time. always scuttling around trying to jump up to reach your hand

tiny yellow cat with blue spots who desperately wants to be scratched on the chin and belly but also might get you. only a little bigger than a beanie baby

grey tabby thats the “middle” squished cat and has short front and back legs

white cat with bald forehead snd ears, apparently could snap sometimes and try to maul people

calico male that got sucked into the sink drain when i was trying to wash my hands, because it worked like an airplane toilet for some reason?? 30 seconds later he managed to emerge back out of the giant drain hole, soaking wet and pissed, and his owner clarified that “yeah thats always happening to him, i actually have a bowl in the bathroom that i put in the sink to block the hole so i can wash my hands without him getting sucked in

they all really want to get into the bathroom and the one i was using had 3 locks but they were frantically trying to unlock all three and pulling the curtain back (door was glass with a curtain that slides over it like a weird shower) and yeowling

Here's another Art Fight piece, this time for my pal @kiriska of their character Nira! I have been wanting to do some hand sewing and once I saw I had the perfect color felt for an Alien Aisha - I knew I had to make this! The pipe cleaners were really fun to implement!
