uuugh ... i had only just today learned about the faces from the CN client and im kind of obsessed with this one actually

my newest character, entity six aka six! he’s inspired a bit by a mixture of the thaumanova fractal subject six boss + a fic/rp i wrote with sasha (plex’s slime encounter…) + odo from star trek DS9

formerly an inquest scientist/biologist named cel, as a regular fleshy asura cel was kind of an edgy emo punk who buried his complex emotions and painful empathetic streak in loud music and introverted tendencies, and he’s still like that, but unfortunately when you’re an inquest biologist and you feel terrible about doing what you do to your lab rats and start to show hints of dissent or rebellion, the inquest is liable to liquidate you, pretty literally in cel’s case

cel ended up being relieved of his biologist position and instead being turned into a test subject for what was intended to be a sort of ‘transasuranist’ experiment, utilizing DNA harvested from an exceedingly fast-reproducing ooze (which formerly had destroyed an inquest lab near-singlehandedly due to this capability) in an attempt to see if these traits could be introduced to asuran anatomy to encourage wound regeneration and longevity. it backfired, and the ooze DNA ended up hijacking cel’s body and essentially converting him full-on to an asura-shaped ooze. this is exactly how science works

considered a flunked experiment, especially due to the fact that forcibly being converted into ooze matter caused sort of a shock to his brain that caused The Being Formerly Known As Cel to temporarily forget who he was and reduce his capacities for speech, it was thought that cel simply ended up being morphed into a feral ooze, but the fact that he retained his shape at all warranted him being kept around for further examination. thus, he was transferred to an inquest bio lab specifically for ‘half-failed experiments’, and branded as Entity Six. currently, he lives there and is under study, with only one scientist noticing anything unusual as he regains his former capacities…

i try to make most of my asura talk 'asuran' which means using things like 'alchemy' in place of swears, but i have one idiot who's ex-consortium and was raised on southsun with humans and so i think about this every time i have him drop an F bomb

BELATED asura appreciation week #2 (i am slowly working my way thru these ok i spent most of my day at a ren faire) - "Do you have an Inquest OC? How did they end up in the Inquest?"

oh boy. i have a LOT of inquest characters actually! but here's these two because they're my main two, and also because i actually had an old wip i could finish up for this lmao

gunner graduated from synergetics, with a focus in mists research. his theses and projects hinged largely around the insights he gained while in the mists, but for obvious reasons he did not disclose his experiences or the fact he's a rata novan, and as a result a lot of his research ended up getting brushed up as unfounded and unhinged, which made him very bitter. he desperately needed the funding money for his huge ambitions of trying to rip open the mists (and find his dad), so he ended up getting into the inquest, and his ahead-of-its-time style theories combined with his determination made him quickly climb to overseer rank

plex also sort of entered the inquest for dad-related reasons, with his dad having been (being?) an inquest scientist who has been missing for awhile. he hopes to eventually find out why, but... on top of that im gonna be honest plex is also just kind of a gullible nervous loser who falls too easily for men in positions of authority and is a stickler for Rules And Regulations and has been sucked into this huge pyramid scheme so. he was just plain assigned evil minion at birth.

actually putting a holographic guard over your chest window makes your armor compliant with inquest enforcer armory codes. dont worry about it. its fine. just dont sweat it man.
