On Friday night I had the pleasure of attending Cocktails with Candace at the Elmhurst Art Museum. The art museum was filled with vintage Playboy décor. On display were things such as furniture, plane replicas and Playboy magazines. A couple of special issues for me were, Playboy bunny of the year (1976) Candace Jordan’s. Her ‘Eyes” cover was one of the best selling issues of all time. Another Cover I loved featured the first African American woman to grace Playboys cover by herself Darine Stern. There were many collectibles including the very first issues of Playboy featuring the sleepy-eyed beauty Marilyn Monroe. It was so cool to see how much the issues and the women have changed over the years. I even learned some things about Playboy that I didn’t know. I had no idea how innovative Playboy actually was. When it comes to furniture and elaborate lounge areas Playboy is king. And if I can just mention how stunning Candace Jordan was both on her covers and in person. She is a beautiful soul and warm spirit. She walked in just after Kayla and I and welcomed us with warm hugs. I am so thankful that I was able to attend such a fantastic event. Why the hell do people love Gucci Mane so much?Rapper Gucci Mane also known as Radric Davis has to be one of the most interesting people on the planet. He has been known to have a bad temper. He has picked fights with many a rappers and singers. This mans’ jail visits are as frequent as I change my undies. His wrap sheet is nothing short of assault, aggravated battery, attempted murder, drugs and violating probation. Despite all of this people still love him. He drops mixtapes while incarcerated. He has a song out right now called “First Day Out the Feds? He’s remixing songs as soon as he step out of the joint. He and drake have a song out right now. He packs Atlanta nightclubs off the mention of his appearance. To Gucci credit his music never disappoints. Act like, you where not in the night club or in your car beating “Nuthing on ya”, “lemonade” or “Wasted”. Even while going to jail religiously he has has been putting out music for over the last 10 years. I think the whole trap music genre is so popular largely because of him. He has paved the way for young new Atlanta artist. The Young Thugs, Rich Homie Quan should all pay homage. The millennial’s people champ has also been teasing a new clothing line and I applaud the hustle. Gucci stays working and stashing the cash. Some how some way this man is just THAT GUY. Gucci was just released from his most recent stay 5/26/2016 lets see how long its going to take before he’s back in the “Feds”. Any bets?
