ok, so…

i recently bought the voltron volume. 2 comic and there was a page in there that really caught my attention. let’s take a look, shall we:

(now, to get some context lance is explaining what love is in his eyes because hunk has to choose between two space ladies that both want to be with him)

ok, let’s unpack this..

“Sure, there are many beautiful women out there that catch your eye. But, what makes love so special is that it’s about a connection. It’s more than skin deep. Love is about being vulnerable. Love is about finding your best friend. That’s why you have to create oppurtunities to fall in love.”

So, some might go ahead and write this off as non-klance material due to Lance referring to only women. HOWEVER, can we just all come together and acknowledge that there is no way this little space baby boi is straight..

Moving on// Lance clearly states that for him, love requires a connection. And may i remind you, who has this boy been connecting with, learning with, bickering with, growing with, anndd bonding with-

oh- right.. keith

And sure, maybe allura has helped Lance in terms of becoming a paladin and being a supporting friend when he needed one (don’t get me wrong, he needs someone like that, but that’s not ALL he needs, also she’s not ALWAYS there for him.. just putting it out there that she’s only there when it’s most convenient for her i.e. when Lotor is gone *cough* season 7 but i digress)

But there’s someone in the show who’s there for him more. Maybe not in as much of a broad and ‘Hey! Look at me! I’m helping!’ type way.. but more as a supporting backbone that keeps Lance standing and ready to fight his inner demons

Keith is there for him when he’s feeling insecure, unwanted, inferior, and just… lost.

“Love is about being vulnerable. Love is about finding your best friend.”

Maybe he believed them to be rivals for so long; too long..

that maybe he didn’t even realize himself that Keith was giving him everything he wanted AND needed in terms of growing as an individual; becoming who he was meant to be and filling the mold that everyone knows he can fill.

And is that not what a best friend is meant to do?

“… but going beyond your comfort zone and doing something new is an excellent way to grow as a couple… These intense experiences create a bond.”

So clearly// it’s been said that Lance is confused about his sexuality so what’s more ‘beyond’ his ‘comfort zone’ than dating or even showing any type of affection towards someone other than a girl?

-dating or even showing affection towards a guy

and what guy may you ask??

I don‘t know if a drawing of this already exists or not because it somehow is familiar to me (and not because of that boyfriend/girlfriend “you’re my world” thing) but if something like this does not exist then I’ll fucking draw it
