Things had been going pretty damn good for Taako in the romance department lately. He had a new very sweet and very hot boyfriend that actually made him want to like, put an effort in and junk. Kravitz was kind of amazing, and Taako wasn’t sure how he got so lucky. There was only one problem.

As far as he could tell, his family fucking hated Kravitz. So as far as his family knew, Taako was currently single and definitely not seeing anyone.

Not an ideal solution, but one that worked well enough for now. Or at least, it was before Lup and the rest of their ragtag group of misfits decided to go on a long road trip for the summer. Hiding a boyfriend was considerably harder when trapped in an RV with seven other people for two and a half weeks.

It was even harder when trying to bring said boyfriend along for the ride.

Grappling with a complicated reunion with Sazed, Taako misses what is right in front of him: the quiet owner of the local general store who has a crush on Taako large enough for half the town to see.

Taakitz Week: Day 6- Prompt, Pocket Spa

I wanted to do more with this but I’ve been dealing with a lot lately. It was nice to work on it though and I’m happy with the place it’s at. Love these two. They’ve absolutely become one of my top favorite couples in any fandom I’ve been a part of. Thanks for doing this event @taakitzweek ! Hopefully I’ll be able to draw more next time. (PS: Hope my image description is alright! I’m new to doing them!)

Sickle and Thorn | Chapter 1

The damaged Starblaster makes an emergency landing, and the Seven Birds know right away that this will be a long and difficult year. The people who live here travel throughout the asteroid system on lightsail ships, and blend magic and technology to survive in this rough environment. It’s a year of desperately searching for a needle in a haystack while trying to navigate the complex society, fighting off space bandits, and falling in love. It’s also the year they first met Kravitz. 

Note: This first chapter Taakitz-centric, so I wanted to share it for the free day during @taakitzweek! It wasn’t ready in time so it’s a bit late. Hope you enjoy!

Chapter One Excerpt: 

Silence settled between them. Kravitz’s proximity, the feel and shape of his hand, the exact weight of it, tugged at some ephemeral resonance in Taako’s brain. As he tried to pull it to his consciousness to analyze it, it slipped away like a broken bit of shell in a bowl of eggs. After multiple attempts, he wondered if he’d felt it at all. They both stared at their clasped hands, and Taako was the first to awkwardly let go. A line formed between Kravitz’s brows as he stared at his own flexing fingers.

Taako clutched the umbra staff with both hands to moor himself from being pulled out to space by emotions he couldn’t even name. He turned his attention to the festival around them.  “So, what would you like to do first?”

Title: At Death Do We Start

Summary:

Taako and Kravitz are getting married. Except, well, there’s a little bit of a wrinkle. A tiny hiccup. The planar system’s smallest monkey wrench.

The thing is, the whole “alive/dead” thing is kind of a problem vis a vis ancient death rules. To beat the system, the Raven Queen’s got a fetch quest that’s a little more complicated than your usual wedding “something old, something blue” and a little more urgent than your standard save the date. Good thing Tres Horny Boys have a whole year of relevant job experience in finding things, because Taako, and everyone else for that matter, has his work cut out for him well before any wedding cake’s getting cut.

Turns out getting married is a little more complicated when your relationship is less “Til Death Do Us Part” and more “At Death Do We Start.”
