Act 0
Hi people I am so sorry for ghosting you like that but unfortunately reality comes first so here is a part to the fic I was talking about tell me what you think.
[Contains themes of Neglect and Self-depreciating thoughts]
Peeking around the corner you watched as they laughed together, watched as they traded jokes. You wanted that you wanted that love, that easy going humor, so you popped out even further and you watched as the room went silent a silence that screamed 'What are you doing here'. You watched as they looked at you expectantly exchanging awkward glances, you watched as they whispered to each other underneath their breath annoyance clouding the air.
You watched as Tim rolled his eyes muttering under his breath before standing up and crossing the room in a few strides, you watched as he gave you a strained smile before closing the door in your face, you listened as the door clicked shut the silence lingering for a beat longer until it was broken by a laugh and the hurtful words that followed.
"Dude that was so rude that's you're sister man" you knew that voice Bart Allen you could here his laughter loud and boisterous until two other voices cut in. "shut up Bart it's not funny" "yeah man quiet down some" Cassie Sandsmark and Conner Kent, one soft one sharp yet neither had come to your defense and then a fourth voice "Nah man she's not my sister just some STRAY that Bruce was tasked with watching so she won't be here long" more laughter followed the silence that you caused forgotten and brushed aside.
But all had fallen short as all you could focus on was the pounding of your heart and that word STRAY, you weren't a stray you were part of the family just like Alfred said, not to mention Dick had said you were his 'cute little sister' and Bruce had said that you were his biological daughter although he didn't seem as excited as you were, maybe he was nervous and didn't want to show it.
Or maybe just maybe you were never family to begin with, maybe they only took you in cause your Ma died and they pitied you, or maybe they never wanted you in the first place and your just a burden sitting on their shoulders.
You walked farther down the hall heart beat in your ears, a sad realization settling over you as you realized you would only be a burden to them nothing more nothing less. And that stuck with you all the way to your room, as you walked in and shut the door behind you.
Closing yourself off from the rest of the world, similar to how when a performance ends and the curtains close nobody ever knows what the next act is going to be.
Hello I see you've finished reading I hope this was decent enough until I can actually write the full thing, but as you can see up above this was Act 0 these 'Acts' are going to be parts of the readers life that lead to the breaking point which is when the main story will start. But let me know what you guys think so far and again so sorry for ghosting you.

Okay I see a lot of Batfam x neglected reader and don't get me wrong It's one of my favorites but most of it is kinda the same thing over and over.
You know the classic reader loses mom goes to live with Bat family hopes to connect it fails horribly reader either leaves and starts anew or wallows in depression, and I'm like okay this okay but I want something new and exciting something dramatic.
Okay now hear me out hear a reader who loves theater since their mother was a small time actress, a reader who was practically born to act, born to be on a stage.
A reader whose only comfort after their mother died was old time plays and their moms own acts, and the Batfam ain't no help either what with the neglect and all.
A reader who despite looking and acting as if their okay was hurting so much on the inside just wanting someone to look at them tell their loved someone to hug and hold them.
A reader who wanted a family.
Their final breaking point was them finally realising they would never be loved as much as Dick or praised as much as Damien who would never be as smart as Tim or able to read people as well as Cassandra.
So reader just kinda snaps and leaves joins a traveling theater group of unwanted individuals learns that life is pretty shitty and grows up while simultaneously honing their skills.
And what better way to get revenge than by becoming what bruce hates most, a villain and I'm not pulling any stops here were talking heists, murders, the sweet purging of corrupt political figures.
Since I think of the reader as a theater kid I would think they would take on a more jester like style while wearing the Comedy and Tragedy masks, and would take hostages and have them answer questions to determine wether or not if their free to go.
So this my take on a Batfam x neglected reader who just says fuck it and goes berserk, so tell me your thoughts.😁
