time for a (tea) break!

pairing: kagero x gn!reader

summary: after training with kagero, the two of you take a tea break!

“i can't anymore…”

you were laying on your back, panting heavily, as your eyes were glued to the blue sky above you. it was a beautiful day, yet you were spending it by getting your ass kicked by kagero! or as she liked to call it: training!

“don't quit. no matter what, never quit.”

kagero scolded you, gently bumping your side with her foot, to make you look up at her and notice her stretched out hand. hesitantly, you grabbed it and allowed kagero to pull you back up on your feet.

“i know… i won't, i promise.” you sighed softly, rubbing your aching arm. kagero really didn't go easy on you. “how about a break then? that doesn't count as quitting, does it?”

kagero paused, considering your proposal. she wanted you to take your training seriously, yet if she never gave you a break, you'd soon collapse. and then all that training would've been for nothing.

“one cup of tea.” kagero offered her counter proposal. “you can sit down for one cup of tea, to help you calm down for a moment. after that, we're going right back to training.”

“are you going to join me for a cup…?” you hesitantly asked, causing kagero to softly roll her eyes, trying not to smile.

“i'll join you.” kagero gave in, causing you to smile excitedly. but before you could express your happiness, kagero added, in a more serious tone, “but you better take your training seriously afterwards, otherwise that'll be the last time, alright?”

When I think about it, I actually have a lot of headcanons about Kagero. Here's a few:

She can play the flute

She knows the basics of ballroom/slow dancing

She's proficient in unarmed combat (Less of a headcanon and more implied but still)

Sometimes, I must choose between writing Kagero as close as I can to canon, or writing her how I know she is deep down...

Like sure maybe the writers of Fates didn't write her as a person who would enjoy cuddling and intimacy, but at the same time she totally would. (Source: Trust me)
