They’re holed up in one of the many pockets of space between torn rubble, rogue omnics whirring around outside. 

And here he thought they had been gone forever...

It’s looking rough for the both of them. Hana’s looking worse for wear; bruised and banged up but not critically injured, thankfully. He himself is starting to feel exhaustion wear down on him from all that running from cover to cover.

He slides down to the floor, leans on the concrete slab that might have been part of a towering building once, and is preparing to call the evacuation team when he hears Hana say that.

He is silent for a moment, then brings his hand down from where it was reaching for the comm, turning to look at the younger woman, fixing her with a look that’s undecipherable, obscured by the visor as is, but he hopes what he says will convey his displeasure well enough.

“Listen.” He begins, tone stern. “I don’t have time for this. I don’t know why you think it isn’t. We’re all on a mission. Watching everyone’s back is already part of the package. Don’t go and act like a hero.”

“It’s probably not my job personally, but it is my job as your teammate and fellow agent. Just sit there while I try to see if I can contact backup.”

Eyebrows raise slightly at the remark he’s not expecting, but his visor does a good enough job of covering that. For a moment, Jack says nothing as he double-checks his ammo and his helix rockets, counting the amount of biotic fields he has before turning to the architect.

“You say that like I don’t know that.”

You say that like it’ll stop me.

Turn ask replies into threads.

If you like a response I made, you are more than allowed to just take it and make it into a thread. Some of you do this already, but others might need a bit of a verbal confirmation to let them know that they are more than allowed to do so. When I put a lot of effort into something, I really do enjoy when it sparks the need to turn things into threads with people. Whatever random situation I put our muses in normally something that I’ve wanted to write for a while, and I assume that you do too because you sent me the thing in the first place!

Write out a thing and tag me or mention me. I want to see where things go from there. Plus, who knows, if you wanted something with our muses, breaking the ice tends to make it easier to get that thing.

Overgosh’s Overwatch Timeline!

The information above all comes from  official Overwatch hero bios, videos and articles, as well as interviews and panels from devs, so even if some of my estimated dates (which you can identify using the timeline key) aren’t 100% to the year the chronology should make sense, and the events are all canonical.

         He and Mrs. Knowles had butted heads in the past, certainly. But it hadn’t been like today. Today was a hard-to-sit-still kinda day.  A cant-focus-on-nothing kinda day. He had those days a lot. But this one was different. “…the teacher made me feel stupid. So I threw my book at her.”

         Jesse keeps his eyes downcast, clinging to Jack’s hand. Squeezing it as hard as his little fingers could manage. “I hate that. I hate feelin’ stupid.”

Jack winces. Okay, maybe that did warrant a trip to the principal’s after all. But when he hears the boy’s explanation he feels something go soft in him, pity and understanding at how oppressive the school system coalescing.

He feels Jesse squeeze at his hand, and he squeezes back, trying to offer him some reassurance.

“Jesse,” he begins, “you don’t throw your book at someone. That’s not very nice.” He’s going to have to work on this kid’s attitude problem. Acknowledge their issues, don’t dismiss them. he reminds himself, and continues.

“But she wasn’t very nice either, was she. Making people feel stupid is not nice. What did she do that made you feel stupid?”

   Jesse fidgets in the office chair, listening to Jack tear into his school principal with only the teeniest of smiles. It wasn’t HIS fault it was hard to hold still in class. That only certain things kept and held his interest and math just didn’t happen to be one of them. But when he tried to defend himself his teachers had gotten mad.

      He’s glad someone was there to step in.

      Jesse holds the man’s hand as they walk from the room, only subtley turning his head to stick his tongue out at the principal on the way out.

Bringing up a kid is hard.

Jack shakes his head and sighs. When the school called him saying Jesse had gotten into trouble for “talking back” he was, quite honestly, appalled. Jesse is difficult, sometimes, that much is true, but talking back? That has never happened. Jesse wouldn’t do that.

Jesse has insisted it was a misunderstanding, and that he did nothing wrong. One thoroughly chewed out principal later, he turns to look at his adopted son as they walk out of the school premises.

“So. What really happened there, Jesse?”

hello !! this is io and she’s an overwatch oc. she’s gentle, kind, and very intelligent, but is a little anxious, naive, and awkward with people. communicates better with her tech than people, she is an engineer, technician, and the brains behind the B73-N units, also known as bastions. she’s never seen without her clockwork bird, ganymede.
