"you hear all sorts of things about professor laslow...his reputation as a flirt precedes him. i've always thought we were alike that way, except for the fact that gossip doesn't seem to get under his skin as much. i've often wondered how he's managed that. there was a time when i even considered talking to him about it, but...our circumstances are different.
