getting pissed over the suggestion of "magnifying mirrors" for doing makeup while nearsighted. i still have to get just as close to the mirror to see what im doing. magnifying does NOT make my reflection clearer. i have to get so close to see clearly, that most of my face isnt visible, which means i cant actually see whether my face products are blended properly. and i cant just put my glasses on to check because itll fuck up whatever product is on my nose, because i cant set my face until i know everything is blended properly*.
has anyone suggesting "magnifying mirrors" actually TRIED that before? or do they genuinely not understand how nearsightedness works? i cannot see. I CANNOT SEE. MY REFLECTION IS NOT EXEMPT FROM "NOT SEEING."
have you ever tried to see the side of your face from 3 inches away in the mirror? have you tried to see your jaw and neck from 3 inches away in a mirror? try it. try it and tell me a magnifying mirror helps with that. tell me you arent impossibly straining your eye to look far enough to the side to actually see the side of your face from 3 inches away. now imagine that it's also fucking BLURRY.
does anyone actually realize that reflections are blurry? i have a mirror on my desk. if i take off my glasses and look at the reflection of my room, it is JUST AS BLURRY as if i looked at the room itself. my own face is not exempt from this. im convinced everyone replying to these threads im reading are either very mildly nearsighted, or arent actually nearsighted at all. because not ONE person seems to understand how nearsightedness or reflections work
*properly means "to my taste" in this context. if you tell me that "it doesnt have to be perfect" you are intentionally misunderstanding my point and should shut the fuck up.
