--Being the father to Lancelot, alongside a father figure to Artoria/Arthur Pendragon, has left him with grief in his heart.  After all, everything he’s ever done was for the sake of his kingdom, and that alone harming Artoria in a mental sort of way, and seeing lancelot drive himself to madness, his own son even, helping destroy Britan left him with a harsh sort of grief.

He is much more then just a pretty face.
