Thoughts on mommy sugu sensing that you do want to be coddled by him, that you do want to be spoiled and pampered and be brainless just for mommy but every time he tries to do those things to reader they like, shrink away and hesitate. Like, reader has some issues and fears about being vulnerable to ppl but they’re so horribly, desperately hungry to be accepted by someone and be cared for tenderly but at the same time they’re so afraid of showing someone the real them. How would mommy sugu react to that 🤨 would he be patient or will he forcibly drown reader in so much nauseating love and care that their brain just explodes and then they cry and breakdown.

Frankly he approaches everyone with the intent of babying them lmfao, but he does understand boundaries...somewhat, so don't worry!!!

Maybe it does work, maybe you learn to depend on him with time but still, there's barely any trust there, and he is deathly afraid of the possibility of you feeling somewhat anxious while returning his hugs TvT instead he would much rather coax you into his arms and have you learn to trust him at your own pace, i mentioned this only once before but aside from being freakishly patient he really really savors the time it takes you to fully trust him and drop down your guard completely, its like sitting next to a new baby bunny and waiting for it to crawl into your lap or extending your hand to a stray kitten and watching it gently nibble and lick after a few trials of hesitation, it has its own charm in his eyes!!!!!

He knows you'll eventually come around and he will look back at your withdrawn guarded self with so much fondness!!!!!

Speaking of, he really really does try his best to just come off as caring rather than a gushing cat parent TOT you can tell he's holding back coos and trying hard to keep his hand off of your head or cheek but he won't reach out and touch you unless you express the desire to, typically suguru lets you initiate the contact and just be this warm welcoming sanctuary you can take refuge in whenever but again, he can read you well enough to know what you need, and nothing makes him happier than to reach over and squish you TOT

Don't get me wrong having to tone down the babying makes his eyes twitch and fingers itch like crazy but he still enjoys the feeling of KIIIIIIINNDD of being strung along (<- weirdo + masochist) most of all knowing that you're likely feeling conflicted on whether or not to paw at him for kitty uppies also makes his heart ache, especially since it's something he can immediately shut down in theory but in practice the best course of action is to wait it out, since coming in full force when you two have just gotten together is a huge gamble and he isn't risking SHIT when it comes to you, you deserve love and care and meticulous planning and under all of it there's this foundation of respect, suguru respects you (ik shocker) too much to treat you as replaceable, bcuz to him you really aren't

All of this is just a trust building ritual, once its been long enough and you've warmed up to him he shows his true colors >:) (brushes your teeth for you)

More dnd writing because it's all I have but I here's a snippet from a vignette I did of Rook's past (from Zara's POV), because Rook and his mentors never fails to make me sick (/pos).

Taking a coin out of her pocket, she rolled it across her knuckles, back and forth. It gave her hands something to do, and prevented the urge to bite her nails, something she hadn’t done in years. Ten minutes passed, then twenty. Zara began to pace as Rook’s breathing grew shakier and the color drained from his skin. Where the hells is Jay? she wondered. The room was so quiet that she could hear every tick of the small clock on her bedside table, and each one echoed in her head. How many ticks does he have left? She didn’t want to think about it.  She’d had crew members die before, of course. You don’t go as many years as a captain as she had and never lose a soul. But all the others who had died had died quickly, in combat. She’d mourned for all of them, even shed tears in private, but there was something different about watching the life drain out of a person right in front of your eyes.

Has Wes learned how to swim? And if no, would Leon teach him, and Nessa get involved somehow?

Wes has absolutely no idea how to swim. He grew up in a desert. The only time he's seen clean water is in Phenac City, and you are exiled into the desert for just touching any of the water features. And Gateon Port was still just a collection of warehouses by the sea at that point, and swimming was not allowed because you might be run over by a boat.

Meanwhile Leon is not a great swimmer, but he can do it, and he helped Hop get comfortable in the water so he can definitely help Wes too!

This goes about as expected.

Because showers in the rain or in an actual shower is one thing, but getting into a pool or a lake or a river? Wes is terrified. He doesn't have his footing, he has to strip nearly bare to be in, he's too vulnerable, and the idea of closing his eyes to dunk his head in it?! Plus, Wes is still afraid that if he touches water he'll be shot in the head.

So Leon needs help.

First, it's slowly acclimating Wes to baths and hot tubs. Getting rid of the idea that touching water is unsafe, and that it's okay. It also takes a long for Wes to be okay getting that vulnerable in front of Leon, and for him to get used to swim trunks and a tank top and the idea that he'll still be safe, as long as Leon is with him.

Then, it's getting him into the lakes and waterways of the Wild Area. Both Wes's Pokémon and the Wild Pokemon are there to act as life guards, and Wes still hates people when he's got his jacket on; getting him to take it off at a public pool was a non starter. Plus, the Pokémon playing in the water helps ease Wes's mind, because they feel safe enough to play.

Then, it's at the small pool and hot tub in Leon's apartment building. He can ensure that no one else is around, so it's just Wes, Leon, and a couple Pokémon that have learned how to swim and would be allowed in the pool.

Finally, Wes is comfortable enough to be around close friends and family. He probably never gets to the point of being able to swim in public, and also never learns how to swim beyond floating and moving around, but that's okay. As long as he won't panic and die in water, Leon is happy.

I know it's a matter of personal experience, but each time I hear someone brag about their life abroad as an expat, it only makes me not want to move abroad.

My uncle's business partner had his son sent to a boarding school since entering high school and this summer he came here to sell his old car as he has a job now in Switzerland and won't come back to Romania not even for vacays.

Anyway, long story short, wtf is Switzerland on? Not to be disrespectful towards their culture, but how is it possible to fine people for even the tiniest thing? I would literally feel terrorised by all the stupid rules. It's giving communist spies. "I got a fine because I flushed past a certain hour." WHAAAAT????

Same with uni professor who had the police knock at her door because her neighbour (idk if she was away in Denmark or the Netherlands) noticed how she hadn't opened the curtains for a whole week. Meanwhile, I never open my curtains and I have an orchard in front of my window. If I were to have nosy neighbours, I would get 3 layers of curtains.

Or my aunt from Norway and her grandchildren. They were counting up to 20 on their fingers and toes in second grade or something, but couldn't eat what she cooked because otherwise they would report her to the school and the school to the authorities. What the kids want, they must get.

Barret is too good of a man, man, his hometown was destroyed by Shinra and turned into a dump and a prison, he lost his wife, his bestfriend, and his hand to Shinra's "damage control", if anything he'd be the one most justified to blow up at him, and yet he instead tries to connect with the Mayor and calm him down because deep down they're still all people who suffered by Shinra's hands, no matter how small.

Barret is SUCH a good man.
