          “...I understand,”

     The words burn his tongue; difficult to admit, even if the true meaning behind those words would not be fully comprehended by the other-- or, at least, not straight away. Yet, all the same, Sety’s words are ones he resonates with deep down, even if a tiny fraction of his heart dares to argue otherwise. No matter how much Saias tries to bury it, his father will always have a place in the archbishop’s heart, right beside his mother. That alone is enough to help him sympathise with the other, even if they are not particularly close. Pale features soften their expression just enough to differ from his usual, vacant look, but not enough to be called too extreme or uncharacteristic.      After all, this is not about him or his problems. Reacting too harshly might deter Sety from speaking further. It would be best to go along, and reassure him that he is in a space where whatever is to be said next will fall upon the ears of someone who is familiar with that sort of situation.

          “Your father is Lord Levin, correct?”

     His gaze flickers off to the side.

          “While I may not have known him personally, I do understand how it feels to have gone quite some time without seeing one’s parent.”

     A short pause follows, one that feels tense on the archbishop’s end, if only due to how carefully Saias thinks he must tread. It feels a little odd, to speak freely like this, but it would be far too rude to simply just up and walk away now, or excuse himself from the conversation. Sety does not strike the archbishop to be the kind that would bring up something if there was not a deeper reason.

          “I trust that he was kind?”
