         For a moment, he just stared at the gift, unsure what to do with it. He’s surprised, to say the least, seeing no reason for why his companion would do such a thing. Could she tell that he had his old, tattered red cape since he started his own adventure years ago ? Was it a present of pity ? Of necessity ? He couldn’t imagine it being given merely out of kindness . . . but then again she did seem like the type to give a gift for no reason, so perhaps it just was what it was. 

        Finally, paw reached out and gingerly took the cloak. He rubbed the fabric between his fingers, careful not to create holes with claws, it was incredibly soft. Blue hues looked up at the other,   —- -    ❝  . . . Thank you. ❞
